Am just selecting our seats for our return journey from vegas and managed to get the seats with two at the back. Its also showing seats on the upper deck available and dosen't say that these are premium economy ones. Can anyone confirm if there are economy seats on the upper level? Looked on seatguru but didnt really help.
I have just returned on a pair of seats, we had the second row of the pairs, thats the pair with the most leg room as it is further away from the side of the aircraft, the last row doesnt really give you any more room as it is almost up against the side, on the plus side you can recline without bothering anyone, another negative though is you sometimes get people congreating behind your seats.
If travelling as a pair i would prefer any of the back four rows to being upstairs in a 30 -

We had a pitcher of sangria and it was $75 + tax and tip.
Thats shocking, how could you0 -

presuming you are flying with Virgin Atlantic, then all aircraft have now been refurbed and there are economy seats upstairs in the bubble.
it is a nice place to be, as you feel like you have you own little cabin... though it could be very annoying if you got drunks/annoying people up there!
window seats (certainly to the rear of the bubble) have luggage storage by the side of the seat, so it feels a little more spacious!0 -

agree with this...upstairs would be our preferece if both options were pairs...if not, pair wins over bubble for us...pair wins over pretty much anything that doesn't involve an upgrade for us.
on the pairs we avoid the last row as people lean on them...or more specifically flump against them with all their weight just when you have managed to drop off...maybe we've just been unlucky.
Would still take the last pair over any 3.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi all, long time listener, first time caller
My wife and I have decided to take our kids (10 & 8) to Las Vegas for a celebration of Vegas, minus the gambling. We have been to Vegas numerous times on our own and via Expedia we managed to get a decent deal, 9 nights at TheHotel, plus Virgin flights for 4k. Then I started looking into the costs, having forgotten the fact we would be doubling up on previous costs and wouldn't have the luxury of free casino drinks
That leads me to a few questions:
1. I have seen several Groupon deals for buffets, but all seem to be for people aged 21 or over and/or limited to 2 people. Has anyone on here had any joy booking multiple groupons, or would one be rejected by the hotel?
2. We have already booked a flight/hotel package with Expedia, so even if a decent hotel/buffet offer comes along I think we are stuck with our reservation. Given that fact do you think I will be able to negotiate 4 for 2 buffet coupons, upon check in?
Thanks in advance!0 -

gracie10 - we came back in economy upstairs in 'the bubble' in April. We had the aisle + middle seat of a three. I wouldn't bother again - I felt cramped, and also the overhead lockers are substantially smaller than on the lower deck. Both our pieces of cabin luggage had to be put in the attendants' cupboards at the back (as did most other people's) so any quick exit was foiled as we all queued and waited for our pieces of luggage to be returned.
For a one off it was fine (...it's a bit of a novelty to be going up and down stairs at 37000 feet), but I would definitely go for a row of 2 anywhere on the plane rather than the bubble.0 -
Dirk Gently - re: Flamingo - you could try the moneysaving way - book the basic room then do the $20 trick to get the Go! Deluxe strip view?
Its what we did - $20 well spent I think, we had a great view, though I got a little freaked as we were on the 18th floor and the whole outside 'wall' was floor to ceiling glass - I kept panicking that it was just the glass between me and an 18 storey drop!. I usually don't have a fear of heights either. It made for great strip views though.
TBH, I found the room a little tacky - the oversized white PVC headboard was horrible, and the room smelled musty still even though it was supposedly a refurbed non-smoking room. On the plus side, it was lovely to have a fridge and a coffee maker. Overall very good value ($88 for 2 nights, plus $20 on check in for (cough) 'complimentary' upgrade).0 -
