Re: Orleans - I dont think it would have been on our list of places to stay the first time we went, nor would it make it on to it because of location & reliance on transport schedules etc... HOWEVER if I was going with someone who's stayed there before (such as yourself), I wouldn't rule it out so quickly

I'm a bit baffled at his enthusiasm for the Orleans to be honest..... I've showed him far swankier hotels but he just finds it really appealing-but heck it'll save a fortune and the pool is nicer than a lot of the Strip hotels -and I love their buffet breakfast (been known to get the shuttle from the Flamingo to the Orleans for brekkie before now) and the price
Stuie got me thinking about Fremont too -Maybe to do hotels in the "right order" Orleans, Nugget (for the weekend) and then CP or Cosmo ..or even a Go at the Flamingo. I'm holding out for deals at the moment -so could end up with something entirely different.
Stuie -would a cheap motel on the way to Ca make more sense than backtracking ???I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
The first time you do it you will need your MLife number and the process will link the two together. Once your account and MLife number are linked, that is it. No need to do it again for subsequent redemptions.Hi, when you redeem on myvegas, do you just give your MLife number or does the card actually have to be linked to your myvegas account ? If it does, how do I do this? Thanks
That's how I remember it anyway.0 -
i'm glad you made sense of my postStuie got me thinking about Fremont too -Maybe to do hotels in the "right order" Orleans, Nugget (for the weekend) and then CP or Cosmo ..or even a Go at the Flamingo. I'm holding out for deals at the moment -so could end up with something entirely different.
I like the idea of your Vegas rotation too - would give them a bit of a flavour of everywhere and means you can give us a Trip Report on a Freemont hotel

that's a decent suggestion I hadn't considered myself, and something we have done before (picked up a £50 'Hilton' cheapy in San Bernardino... it had a pool tooStuie -would a cheap motel on the way to Ca make more sense than backtracking ???
:rotfl: )
you could go via. Primm then and perhaps Mojave National Park maybe (though never been there so not sure if its up to much), then find a cheapy outside LA, and you've got all day the next day to do the sights, beach and travel back

i thought about staying in LA or Palm Springs on the Sunday night, but not needed.... I like driving, so driving 250 miles each way i dont mind and will find fun kinda, plus we see more! (well, desert that is!

)
Plus, i booked Golden Nugget for the Sat-Mon as we like downtown, and also as it was cheaper at the time to book there compared to the strip.... ($166.07 total for memorial wkend, looks i got it at a good moment!!)
I've done Cardiff-Sunderland-Cardiff quite a few times over the years, dont mind the driving, just the roadworks spoil the trip! So LV to LA should be a walk in the park!
and only a few days to go now! Woooooohooooooooooooooooo !

We got a convertable with Alamo inc fuel/wife to drive for £170 for 7 days (dammmmm good!!!), but am hoping when we get there, i can slip someone a twenty and hope they just happen to have like a Camero convert, etc or somthing like that..... hey, you just never know!!!! Will be happy with our Mitsubishi Spyder convertable anyway ...0 -
hah!!!!!!!!
I'd be happy with a Rental, at least i could give it back when it does my head in!!!!!

Today's Groupon for me is the "Rockin' Taco Mexican Grill" on the corner of E.Harmon apparently (nr. Harley Davidson), though I'll admit, I don't every recall seeing it or hearing about it before. Is it in the new retail building (with Walgreens in etc?)
http://www.groupon.com/deals/rockin-taco-mexican-grill
So... the big question is, has anyone been? Is it new? Any good?0 -
Haven't been, but is where you thought, in the new space above/alongside Walgreens. There are a few new places there. Bubba Gump, a shrimp place, Twin Peaks, a place with Lumberjills as servers. We ate there (Twin Peaks) and it was pretty good. It was in late March though, and I can't remember what we ate. I also can't remember if the Mexican grill is the only other one there.
Sorry.0 -
Thought I would post a pic of the view that made my wife so happy from room at Caesers
