I'm tempted by this. 2 yard drinks for $21 at Fresh Bar & Grill at Planet Ho.

Anyone tried them? I'll likely never finish it, but it's on that list of things we've never got around to (walking about with a large frozen drink.)

Canceled our meal at Steak for tonite, couldn't go through with spending $150-$200 for some scran. Going to Joes Crab shack on Sunset instead, then going to try out the self ordering drinks slot machines at Palazzo, after going home and having a shower of course.
At the moment it's 30 degrees, light breeze, not a cloud in the sky relaxing by the pool with home made cocktails using the free wifi to post and read, only 3 other people here, hard life.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Oh and Planetho has gotten rid of Tracy's 2 favourite games Cave King and Wolf Run so we we won't be going in there again thank God, I hated the place anyway, and with Total Rewards wiping out about $100 in comps we had coming because we didn't use our cards for 6 months will be using Bellagio more often.

Just over 4 weeks til I go now..absolutely cannot wait. MGM Grand!!!!!!

EDIT: on that note, me and my friends have 2 rooms booked, and they were made under separate bookings. Does anyone know of some email address that I can request that we get rooms together? Preferably with a strip view? Or do you think I'm alright just asking at check-in? Dates are Sun 23rd-Sat29th June.

A few posts about Primm, my comments are it is tempting to zoom down the I15 but beware, NHP have a zero tolerance policy for speeding on the 10 miles or so approach, zero tolerance means if they clock you even 1 mph over the limit they'll nail you, the California stretch from Baker right through to and past Jean is patrolled by air as well as troops on the ground.

I usually take a trip out there every visit, worth travelling a bit further into California and take the turning on to the Nipton rd and run down to Searchlight. The road apart from the small town/ settlement that is Nipton (trading post type shop and cafe) and the Golden Nugget Searchlight, decent cafe. Runs along the northern edge of the Josuha national park some pull off's between Nipton and Searchlight for seeing some trees. You could do that and back to Primm in about 2 hours in all.

Pretty bleugh really. I actually thought our room hadn't been refurbished till hubby pointed out that it had.

It is fairly understated in shades of muted brown. Nice flat screen TV. A roller blind instead of curtains, which is operated from a panel on the wall. Stocked mini bar with no room to store your own stuff.

Even the carpet in the casino has been replaced so no more lions.

There is now free wifi throughout the property. 2 hours free if you are not a guest.

Mental note to self: dont try and bribe the cops like they do in Cannonball Run ! :D:D:D

I usually drive it back from Jean, it is 35 in parts and 45-55 most of the way, it slows down near the weigh station, but is usually very quiet. It is also an excuse to call into the 'M'. The Gold Strike is one of those places to call in and have a look around, it's a big enough casino but more of a truck stop I suppose.

And so the planning continues...... J was saying he'd rather fly direct but on principle there is no way I'm paying £800 plus just for the flight to Vegas so I asked him if he fancied a day trip to Dublin before we go to Vegas :)

So the latest plan is ...drive to Gatwick - leave luggage for Vegas at left luggage and take a one way fare to Dublin -fly back about 9pm -check into Yotel and next morning wander across to the check in and fly direct. Nice saving on it to the point that total cost including a Ryanair cheapie , Yotel , Gatwick M&G parking and 7 nights in Vegas (Orleans 5 nights and Flamingo in a Go room for the last 2 ) nights comes out at £815 a head -so with cashback should come out under £800 a head with a couple of decent pints of Guinness thrown in :D

DUB LAS rtn btw was cheaper from a US site than a UK one.

Now to fine tune and see if I can get it any lower ;)
