Article about who does or doesn't pay resort fees - optional at Venetian, depends on Total Rewards status at Caesars props, and depends on which deal you booked at/Players Club at TI.

hey everyone... has anyone got experience of getting any decent last-minute deals to Vegas?

we've a week off in late September and would look to go with Virgin (to earn miles) and stay at Vdara (our usual, but we've got a free upgrade due so would only need to book the cheapest room).

prices are currently not worth considering (1200pp) - and I don't expect any sales or offers on flights before then :( Just wondering if anything might come up in the weeks leading up to that time?!

We havent booked yet for a number of reasons and if we do we have to go at the end of July. We fly Virgin from Manchester (I think you go from there too?) so at the mo flights are 900pp which I really don't want to pay but not convinced they will come down. I am also keeping my eye on TC flights which do seem to come down nearer the time so if you are not too bothered about earning the miles it might be worth a look. For example flying tomorrow with TC for a week is 783 for 2 people but end of July is 1690....I have 4 to pay for so keeping my fingers crossed for a miracle!

Seems a good deal for 2 (munchies & drinks at Mirage buffet)....
Am half tempted to get it, but with Bellagio & monte carlo buffet on our agenda, a 3rd buffet might see me stretch my clothes!! :D:D:D:D

Thanks for that, not a bad deal at all. Less than $20 per person for all you can eat and drink! I bought 2 for our trip next month (we are 4 people). Does anyone know if we will have to pay tax on that? On the voucher it just says "tax, if applicable, will be payable"?

Yes there is tax to pay, but it's only $2.37. People in front of us were paying $71 for 2 people and I don't know if that included drinks.

It's a very good buffet, especially if you like seafood as there were loads of options.

Interesting developments with the Ellis Island steak dinner. You have to use your players card to get a voucher or pay $11.99. It's $8.99 no drink included now, and the soup is in a small cup. At 5pm there was no wait for the BBQ
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
