The point isn't for the advert to convince people to go by evidencing all the stuff there is to do and see there. It's to get the place in people's heads, plant the idea of going... And a memorable advert (whether good or bad) will be he aide memoire.
When people then consider where to go, its somewhere that might come to mind. If people want to go to Vegas, they'll be going anyway0 -
No charges in any hotel in Vegas or surrounding areas as far as I know. If you use valet parking there is a tip to consider, but self parking is free.0

Errrrrr - no. There's nothing in the ad that would make me think of Vegas when I was planning a trip. Even the third or fourth time I saw it, I thought it was an ad for dentures or Polygrip.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Yes, I agree. Downtown, you usually get a ticket that needs to be validated at a casino cage before they let you out for free.
Just go to the cage and stamp your ticket. If you can't find the stamp machine, ask an employee, they will all know where the validation stamp machine is.0 -

Now I do, cos I eventually watched it to the end without turning over
But I didn't remember it was a Vegas advert next time I saw it.
