Just remembered. On the last night we went to see the Bellagio fountains. We had a fantastic view.

It wasn't that great. I don't think it was 5 minutes long and just some generic 'Disney' music.

I've been assured by others that have seen it, that it was longer and to some kind of popular song. 'Time to Say Goodbye' and even the 'Titanic' screeching by Celine Dion.

there are quite a few songs - song list is available here:

    http://www.bellagio.com/attractions/fountains-of-bellagio.aspx

Most are less than 5 minutes each.

Obviously some of the seasonal (i.e. Christmas) songs aren't played year round. Time to Say Goodbye usually brings me to tears...even my father-in-law got a bit sniffly. some of them are a lot less interesting, totally agree...is worth sticking around for a few.

We had Fly Me To The Moon as our 'kiss' song at our wedding :) Some are so not suitable for wedding songs though, we were a little underwhelmed at the choices to be honest!

I drove my OH potty afterwards as walking over from Bally's to Bellagio we seemed to always catch the fountains and I made him stay and watch :rotfl:

    Hi all,

Less than 3 weeks for me :) need some help guys, i'm there for 16 days. I would like a Sim Card to use over there, mine with vodafone was very expensive last year.

Has anyone used a US sim, if so have you bought one in uk before going, or bought over there?

    Cheers x

EDIT: IGNORE ALL THE FOLLOWING - I ASSUMED YOU WERE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR DATA BUT HAVE REALISED YOU'RE NOT!!!.... will leave it all here though just in case its of use to anyone else :D (and it does go on to discuss calls in the link for the second article)

I believe pebbles uses this one.... if you do a search on last years thread there was a bit of discussion and advice on there :)

    http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/pay-by-the-day-cell-phone-plans

some more info (taken from here: http://www.simcardguru.co.uk/product/sim-cards-for-the-united-states/t-mobile-usa-pay-as-you-go-mobile-phone-sim-card )
We searched for the best value pay-as-you-go mobile phone sim cards for travellers visiting the United States and found that the T-Mobile sim card is the best overall option combining generous data and local call allowance, simple pay-as-you-go daily charges and ease of topping up at thousands of shops throughout the United States.

T-Mobile has several prepaid plans. The Pay By The Day plans are generally the best deal for most travellers and when you activate your sim card you get the choice of putting it on either the $2/day or $3/day Pay By The Day plan.

It is cheap for your friends and family to call you since calls to mobile phones in the United States cost the same as calls to landlines. In many cases it will be cheaper for your friends and family in the UK to call you on your USA mobile that it currently costs them to call your UK mobile.

Activate on the T-Mobile Pay By The Day plan of your choice

We have found that this is by far the most popular rate plan for most travellers visiting the United States. Benefits of this rate plan include:

    Your own USA phone number
    USD $10 included credit
Unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles phones in the United States
    Unlimited incoming calls
Unlimited data (the $2/day plan gives you unlimited data at EDGE speed on T-Mobile’s 2G network and the $3/day plan gives you 200MB of 3G data per day, and once you have used your 200MB your data slows down to EDGE speed)
    Includes USD $10 credit
This sim card comes with $10 credit and can be activated prior to travel and simply needs to put it in an unlocked tri-band or quad-band phone and you’re ready to hit the ground running.
Please note that this is a pay as you go plan. There are no contracts to sign and no minimum term to commit to. This plan is suitable if you’re only visiting the USA for a week or two.
T-Mobile’s Pay By The Day plans offer excellent value with unlimited calls and data and no minimum monthly charge.

International calls are expensive with this plan, but there are a number of ways to save on calls back home. If you need to make international calls you are advised to combine this plan with either the Localphone or Rebtel service (which gives you international calls at much cheaper rates than T-Mobile’s standard international call charge).

This rate plan is not suitable if you need to access email on a BlackBerry device, however you can still buy this sim card and call T-Mobile to change to one of their Monthly4G prepaid plans with a BlackBerry data feature.

    Activating your service

After you have received your sim card you can activate it to receive your US mobile phone number. Activating your sim only takes five minutes and within 24 hours of activating your sim (although it is usually much quicker) you will receive an email containing your US mobile phone number.

During the activation process you get to choose whether you want to go on the $2/day or $3/day Pay By The Day plan (both give you unlimited incoming calls, unlimited calls to US mobile and landline phones, unlimited text messages to US mobiles and unlimited data, but internet access is faster on the $3/day plan) and you also have the option of requesting the area code of your mobile phone number.

These prepaid plans are very flexible and changing plans is very easy using the T-Mobile customer service number, on 611 from your mobile or 1 877 778 2106 from any other phone. You can do this via an automated service, or even speak to a real customer representative! You can switch between Pay By The Day plans as often as you like, as long as there is enough credit on your phone to change to the plan you wish to.

How do I make cheaper international calls with my T-Mobile USA sim card?

T-Mobile’s standard charge to call landlines and mobile phones in the UK is USD $1.99 per minute, but calls home are only USD 1¢ per minute to UK landlines and USD 7.9-19.9¢ per minute to UK mobiles if you combine your T-Mobile USA service with either the Localphone or Rebtel international discount calling service.

Here’s a quick comparision for the call costs for the Pay By The Day plan with and without the Localphone and Rebtel international service to illustrate how much you can save on international calls when you combine your T-Mobile USA sim card with one of these two services.

Yes, I do use a T-mobile sim. I've had this one for about three years. They also have several different options. The closest (easiest to get to) place is at maryland parkway/flamingo. They are used to looking after non USA customers there. The current choices for pay as you go are $2 per day low speed internet and $3 per day for faster internet. The fast one is only fast for a certain amount of data, but it works fome for me.

Because we tend to visit for longer periods of time, we usually opt for the $50 + $10 plan. This gives me unlimited internet, calls and texts plus unlimited international calls for a full month.

back off to vegas on tuesday :T

3rd time, but first time with 'the boys'.

staying at ballys for 5 nights and 2 @ hard rock (hrh queen suite!) very pleased with the rates on the room.

got care hire for first time, so tips on places to go/things to do would be good. i like a bargain and cheap drinking is a bonus, $9 for a whiskey and coke sucks! also cheap places to eat.

we're looking to shoot guns - what's everyones favourite place? should we book in advance?

this t-mobile sim is the one i used last time, worked perfectly. i don't think there's any issue getting one while you're over there, i asked a friend in the States to get a couple and the mailed them over. i used the $2/day tariff, being there for a week. i remember reading something about iphones not being able to access 3g as it's a different frequency, but i'm not 100% sure, worth checking.

you just activate them online and add credit online too, really easy.

FYI - we asked about this SIM in both Walmart and Radioshack and they knew nothing about it, but for some reason I didn't even think of going to a T-Mobile store . Big thanks for the info guys!
