Just wondering if anyone has thought about ditching the sports channels over the summer when the football season is over?
Has anyone done this in the past and what do Sky offer to keep you subscribed up to the max when you don't really need it?
Any thoughts welcomed,

I havent done it in the past, but Im going to do it come the end of the football season. What Im going to do is offer Sky a lower monthly payment and see waht they say. Im actually not bothered if they decline it, as spending £35 a month for a few matches a month and the ability to record is madness. Its worth remembering that next season there will be less matches on Sky, and given that they lost the USPGA, Im pretty much ready to jump ship. Ever year you get less while they charge more, and its getting a bit stupid now. Of course, you could have Setanta and Sky for only £50 a month!!"I'm not even supposed to be here today."0

Don't!!!! i know someone who's having a running pitch battle with Sky about Setanta and cancelling a subscription. Sky have been "less" than helpful to say the least.
I'm a bit stuck as Sky often offer Sky+ or Sky HD as a bargaining chip. I have a flat with a communal system so cannot have Sky+/HD. Therefore all they can do is offer me some £££ off.
I agree with you that i'd not be too fussed if they said "we can't accept a lower payment". Oh well
Let us know how you get on?

Will do. Id keep an eye out for threads about this come the end of the season. Ive a feeling that we wont be the only ones who've had enough of Skys 'pay more, get less' pricing."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0

I've done it in the past, and never had a problem before. With Sky, there's always a first time though!0

They didn't, but last year I didn't cancel at all because I was in the 3 months half price because we threatened to cancel.0

I am going to get rid of the sport channels once the season is over.
You have to give Sky a months notice!0 -
There is more to sky sports than just football - and all in HD tooNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

Wait until the Chelsea Vs Man U title challenge is over then we'll host a group cancel.
