Highly recommend Soap and Glory shower gel - 1 500ml bottle lasts about 10/11 months, doesn't lose it's smell and at 3 pumps every day works out at great value :D

I got really bored with S&G in general and especially the shower gels. They are nice as hand wash though.

Ren Omega 3 night serum. This was a mini from the Sensitive Kit. I tried to use it but it smells like tuna-gone-off.

I also dislike S&G but can confirm that the bubble bath makes an excellent hand wash! I don't have a bath and couldn't face Clean On Me Take II that would result from using it as shower gel!

Neo glad to hear the good news about your DS.

I had a bit of a tidy up earlier today and found 15 travel size pots of conditioner, 7 pots of shampoo and conditioner and 10 pots of shampoo that I'd stashed away in the bathroom cupboard. What on earth was I thinking when I decided that I needed to bring these home from my hotel stays.

My hair is so fine, I buy decent shampoo in an attempt to pull it into some sort of shape and never use s&c. I think I'll persuade OH to use them as he'd wash his hair with washing up liquid if he had nothing else to hand.

Went into B00ts today to look for the suntan lotion glitch but came out empty handed when they didn't have it, so proud of me for avoiding the sale yet again.

Evening all - and Hello to our newbies

So, have spent the last few hours clearing out in my flat. Don't know why I have this sudden burst of energy from but I though I would roll with it. I have a couple of OUTs

Lipbalm of an unknown origin but ages old!

Vaseline lip balm mini tin - again so old, I don't remember buying it.

WNBA to either of them. Don't need these products for the most part so why spend cash on them?

I have a couple of splutterers too. Benefit Porefessional (GWP mag) which I have really enjoyed using. So much I will buy this.

Clinique Almost Make up Parfait which has been discontinued. I am really gutted that this is almost gone. Loved this *sniff. It does mean that I will need a suitable replacement product.

Had a great day today as I finally have booked my very much delayed last summer's holiday. I am off on a 2 week cruise from Barcelona to Dubai and then a four night stay there. I can't wait :j.

I am with you on the REN product smells there Skyllo. I have tried a few products and each and everyone of them had an awful smell (to me). I still have a few more left to try but I just can't bring myself to open them because of the smell.

:) I do like the Boots Extracts products. Had a wee look at the Boots sale last week, didn't buy anything but did see they had plenty of the Extracts shower gel and body butter sets, I bought some of these last year (and the year beofre :o) and still to start on them. I have in the past used them and liked them a lot, however trying to avoid the Boots sale, even though if I can get them at 75% off they are a bargain (except I don't need it, sticks fingers in ears :p)

I have been in Boots a few times lately but haven't bought anything apart from the toiletry bags and the present yesterday. However, I must admit that every time I go in I am looking at what is left and working out what I will buy if it goes down to 75% off. I do try to keep what I buy for birthday and Xmas presents but somehow quite a lot of it seems to find its way into my own stash. :o

Not sure I can face the crowds this year though! I am hoping that the big Ted Baker set will be reduced. I was given a mini set of these products for Xmas and really like them, apart from the scrub. I'm not going as far as to book the day off work though, as some people on the Boots thread are doing - one of them even said they are going to say they have a doctor's appointment so they can go in late. Had to bite my tongue on that one, especially given the recent problems I've had over my own genuine appointments.

    .

I was so relieved when he got the letter. He moved out last year so I phoned him to say the letter had arrived and ask if he wanted me to open it. He thought it would just be an appointment but I had a feeling it was about his eyes. He was in town so I was a bit worried about opening it in case it was bad news, given that he was alone in public. However, the letter lasst year had a leaflet with it explaining what the results meant but this letter was very thin and thankfully it was what we'd been hoping for.

I have very fine hair and my HG is Herbal Essences volumising range (in orange packaging). Love the smell, it does a good job and you can normally find it half price or on BOGOF somewhere. My hair gets very tangled so I use a tangle teezer and wide toothed comb while it is still dry and then comb the conditioner through with a wide toothed comb before rinsing it. I'm using the HE shampoo at the moment but with Tresemme conditioner which is working well. However, the Tresemme bottle is massive and I will no doubt get bored and find it's not working as well a long time before it's finished!

  • Another UU - L'Occitane Rose 4 Reines body milk.

I do love this - its a nice texture, leaves my skin nice and soft, and smells divine. However, the same is true of the Rose body lotion I brought back from Bulgaria in the summer and the L'Occitane one cost £18.50 for 250 ml and I've found a web site offering the Regina Floris one for £6.50 for 230ml.

So I think when my body lotion / butter collection runs low enough to justify buying a new one, I'll look for the Regina Floris one - might be some more UK stockists by then. Or I might go for a trip to Bulgaria and brings some back. Would love to visit Bulgaria during the rose harvest, been reading a bit about it and they have a festival at the end of the harvest, sounds like it'd be a really special time to visit.

I am reformed!!! :T:rotfl::T Well maybe.

Went shopping with OH. Had a look around Boots as had to pick up new hairbands and a box of tampons (now why would I stockpile these useful items when I can stockpile body scrubs?! :D ) Bought these with two bottles of drink and nothing else. Checked out the avene products, ojon hair treatment and a few other things but didn't pick anything else up. Paid for the four items with AC points and still have more than £48 worth of points on the card :rotfl:

So still no ins 12 days in to the year, 12 days down, 88 to go. Of course we had just spent a fortune on stuff for the house, so erm, yeah :)

Well done roguelawyer. I too wandered into Boots yesterday but didn't buy anything. Mind you there didn't appear to be much left in our store. Why 88 days to go?

Hello, can I join too please [steps forward shyly]. :hello: I’m always nervous about joining threads given some of the nastiness that appears on other threads. It’s taken me a week to read this one and it’s so lovely and warm because everyone is so friendly!

I have lots of full sized bottles of shower gels, shampoos, perfumes, etc and goodness knows how many samples! Not going to count them since I've got to the stage that there’s no more space in our bathroom :embarasse so I really need to use up what I have rather than keeping buying new! Lots of splutters so hopefully will have some good news to report shortly. :)

Actually this is the year of action! OH and I have far too much stuff and since it’s unlikely they’ll ever designa house with elasticated sides we need to buckle down, have a clear out, stopspending so much money and start using up what we have! Also need to lose the 1½ stones I’vegradually put on since we got married 12 years ago and get myself a bit fitter in the process. Can't wait to get back into some of my clothes that have been relegated to the back of the wardrobe!!

Welcome Cas and good luck with your weight loss plan. I'm also a member of the Weight Loss thread on MSE and they seem to be as friendly as the ladies on this thread. Have lost 2lbs in my first week so v. pleased. If anyone is looking for recipe inspiration I heartily recommend The Hairy Dieters book.

I bought this yesterday in Boots sale:-

    http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Extracts-Fairtrade-Cocoa-Butter-Wash-Bag_1270580/

but it's my friend's birthday present so it's an in and an out.

I also got a lovely bargain and it's not toiletries (although not a million miles away!)

I'd seen really nice hanging toiletries bag on the Boots website and in the store quite a while ago. It was £4 and I resisted it because I have loads of toiletry bags, including one hanging one. Also I don't normally buy empty bags as you can get such nice ones with products in and they work out much better value. However, I saw them in store again yesterday and was going to buy one for myself and one as part of a present. I found a different present for my friend, as shown above, so decided to put one back and just keep one for myself. When I went to the till it went through as £1 so of course I had to go back and buy the other 2 on the shelves! I'm going to use them as presents and look around for special offers and travel sizes to go with them. It's sold out on the Boots website and was £2 on there anyway, marked down to half price.

Cosmetic bags is something I am drowning in as I've gained a few with the Elemis goodies I got at Christmas however I do love it when this happens. Happened to me yesterday in M&S. Picked up a pair of jeans that were marked down from £29.50 to £14.00. Got to the till and they were £11.00. Doesn't beat the best bargain of the sales for me though which was my Clintons haul. Got 10 x pack of 10 Christmas cards, a calendar and 2 x "special" Christmas cards (which should have been £5.99 each!) for £7.50!
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
