Evening All,
My 4th NSD, tomorrow will be a spends day as going shopping and lunch with a friend as my b'day so treating myself. Still got money from xmas to spend so shouldn't be too expensive.
Eh xx0 -
Hello!
A spend day again for me today, but did walk when I could have taken bus and avoided purchasing snacks all day! SB done... but I'm having NO luck with surveys at all! Spend diary updated - think I'll get a highlighter for the alcohol spends - clearly, I'm not as dedicated as all of you! However, I may stop after finishing what I purchased today - it'll save more pennies! Noticed in shops today the frozen party food range in the C**p is reduced - not too healthy, but a decent freezer back up perhaps?0 -
Was planning for today being my 4th NSD, but DD has got flu that's going around and I had ran out of paracetemol suspension so had to buy some.couldn't tempt her to eat anything so got some fruit and yoghurt so she had something in her stomach at least.
Unfortunately we were up most of the night and the furthest I got to ebaying was taking a few photos. Just too knackardCan't seem to get my butt kicked into gear!! But at least I'm not going backwards!
OUT OF DEBT since 05/05/13!!!! Whoop Whoop!!! :T
Goals = Learn to live a happy, frugal life / Offer accepted.....fingers crossed Feb 2014:j0 -
Spend day today as hubby decided he was really ill and fancied pie and chips for tea!!! On a brighter note, took mum to A's last night and got £1.17 coupon from her till reciept and 10p on a wombled one i found on the way back to the van :T
Managed to list another 5 things on ebay today, one being an old, broken laptop that was in the glory hole, got 4 emails within 10 mins offering £40 and it was collected at 7pm :jit just goes to show that even if you think it's no good, someone, somewhere will want it.
This year i WILL have savings!0 -

NSD 5 today. I will have to go food shopping Tomorrow though so will make it a planned spend day and try to get enough for the month. I have meal planned so I know what I need. As we ran out of fresh fruit yesterday I have been trying some of the value tinned fruit from T*s*o to save me from the shops they are nice the pineapple is good and peaches not too bad either. To be honest I only usually buy apples, oranges and bananas as peaches and pineapples are a bit pricey. Altho I may go to lidl for some blueberries tomorrow. Ebay is doing quite well and i have sold 5 things which makes me about £25 so far I still have some ending monday ? I know thats a rubbish day to end I am still learning :rotfl: love p0lly xJBFF # 20 NSD 12/25

A very good evening to all of you money grabbing shameless womblers.:T:T:T
I love reading about this scrounging in car parks and asking Mothers for receipts. I realised over Christmas how my Mummy works in her little mind and nearly made me cry as I now REALLY know what she has been doing during the years where she kept a family of four going on just under £20,000 a year ( my Dad's salary ).. she said with glee on her gorgeous little face "feels great doesn't it" - in response to me telling her I got something for 10p with a yellow sticker. I don't know why I didn't listen to her sooner.....
Seems like there is a lot of prep happening tonight amongst you all - excellent news! I have also cooked a puff pastry red onion chutney & goats cheese square ( not sure what else to call it ) along with some broccoli, a box of home-made popcorn, some dried fruit and nuts, home-made tzaziki and brown pitta for dipping - all to take to work tomorrow. Overtime for me from 0700-1500 ( treats ).. always seems a good idea when its booked. I much prefer night shifts and staying up late than getting up early...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
My carp on eBay is not shiftng. I feel your pain. I also am running our of carp to sell. I also love the use of the word carp. What happens when someone buys real carp and its not very good... is it carp carp?...:rotfl::rotfl:
Siouxsie32 - he didn't show up again which was no great surprise. We are meeting on Wednesday on neutral territory for tea.. I shall see how I feel then might knock this on the head entirely... silly boy! Doesn't he realise I am a catch....
SO today was an NSD. Fed by a friend and Skyfall was a waste of my time. I have seen better BOND movies...
I am now determined to eat RIGHT.
Day 4 - No Sugar
Day 5 - No Tea
I am going to prevail though. I feel my body dispelling toxins. I dry body brush now as well to speed up lymph drainage.. Google it you'd be astounded how good it is for you to drain your lymphs....
I have the utmost respect for those of you who are giving up alcohol. I have never drank so don't have any difficult friends to deal with or adversity as I change my "habits" so well done to you all really being so head strong in your choices....
So I am going to go and prep my hair for a day at work... what a fun life I lead....
Onwards and Upwards!!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Evening all hope your Saturdays went well, for once I had most of the day without the teenagers so enjoyed the peace. Have photographed 10 items ready for ebay just need to upload and sort postage, just a question can anyone tell me how to offer combined postage? The items I am selling are similar and hopefully more than one will appeal to same buyer.
I have also had more time to do housy things and the house is looking tidier! NSD today as don't need anything and menu planned for rest of week. have no bread but found pitta's in freezer so they will last until tomorrow when I will have a planned spend.
I needed a calendar as none received for xmas but decided to be a bit crafty and printed 12 months free calendar sheets and after half an hour blue peter style faffing have turned my 2012 M&S one into a 2013 one, all free!
Will be doing a spot of cookie baking tomorrow using store cupboard stuff and the brandy butter that is sitting in the fridge, found a recipe online so they will be used for packed lunches if edible.
Everyone is doing so well am finding the experience very inspiring thank you all.January 2020 Grocery challenge £119.45/£200

Still feeling absolutely rubbish but had a NSD today. This hacking cough virus is a b****r, as just when you think it's getting better it comes back with a vengeance. My symptons have ranged from aching limbs, headache, excruciating sinus pain to mild nausea, lack of appetite and a hacking cough. Apparently, it's lasts around 2 weeks. I'm now on day 5. I haven't been well yet in 2013 and I'm dying to get stuck into the New Year.
Today I have mainly be lying around watching TV and just watched Hannah and her Sisters, which I enjoyed. Not really been eating much but will need to do a proper shop soon. Got soomw kiwi fruit, passions fruit and other bits yesterday at Mr Ts, but don't really like shopping there. Cos I'm ill it's harder to be ruthless.
Hoep everyone else is well and it sounds like you're all getting stuck in to money saving.
Finally, Kat are you sure Geordie Boy is worthy of your precious time and energy? You deserve better than someone who cancels at the last minute. Believe me, I've been there.0 -

Trying to sell my breadmaker los it has never worked for me.
I used 225g bread flour
1tsp salt
1tsp sugar
1tbsp marg
6g yeast (dried)
150ml water.
Mixed flour, salt n sugar in then rubbed marg into it. Add yeast then pour water in n stir. Once it comes away from side stick your hands in and mix together. Then stick on a floured surface and knead for 5 mins. Then shape....we plaited and leftfr half hour on a greased tray covered in greased clingfilm while it doubled. Then bang in oven for 30 mins @220.
This is a really basic recipe cos I've never done this before by hand. Maybe slightly less heat or length of time. Gonna take some tinkering.
In breadmaker it was always wet but this was quite dry but edible. Bit flat though but not sure if its via it was plaited or if i kneaded wrong.
Let me know how you get on, cos i am total novice! L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180
