...then catch up with a friend...some of you may know of Geordie Boy..ahem.....

I KNEW it was him!!!! Tell him we're watching him!! Ha ha, have a fab time though. Sounds like a fun filled busy day :).

I'm not a drinker either and people always want to ask why. I do feel a bit freaky sometimes, but ultimately I don't care what people think. I don't like being drunk. I don't like being hungover. I don't like spending money I don't have to :)

I'm on maximum NSDs-still staying with my family so I've been eating what they have in their pantry....plus my niece bought some fabulous soda bread for me today :j:j:j. Enjoying chilling out. Home tomorrow though so I'll have to break the NSD run with a supermarket trip before long. It looks like you're all going to shame me into a gym trip as well. I'm busy at work at the beginning of the week but I pledge to go to at least one gym class by Wednesday at the latest (actually, there's no chance of it being before Wednesday but I pledge to do it on Wednesday-there's a fun Aqua Zumba class on a Wednesday night :)).
  • Evening campers. I'm not a very good drinker....i don't like the taste of many drinks apart from a bottle of Becs or a liquer and don't like feeling of being drunk. But totally know where you are coming from when people ask you to explain why you don't wanna poison yourself. Never seem to be the ones to hangaround when you feel sick!

NSD 4 today......we still have no bread or milk but i haven't been able to go out due to some virus i have picked up. May need to drag myself to doctors tomorrow and if i have to then i will buy milk. Have raided the freezer for waffles for the kids for breakfast and OH can have mackerel.......same as kippers innit? Lol

Spent £3 today (budgeted for), got up to max on adpoints for the week (v. grateful for suggestion as it's definitely a big help towards the £25 target!) Free diary for the year acquired! :)

Just a quick update as I am cream crackered! planned spend today as needed petrol and essentials, also had friday tea out with my friend to exchange presents and destress session. Meal and drinks totalled 10.98 which will be taken from food budget.
Accumulating and making additional monies will be focus for two days off, and have taken extra work on worth 140.00 so may just use that towards the 155 target.
    Sweet dreams peeps X

    Hi everybody,

I've finally got my budget set for the month:-
    Food 0 /198.00
    Petrol 28.76/212.00
    Hair / 26.00
    Postage to UK /14.00
    3 Birthday cards /10.00
    Preplanned Monthly Treat /20.00

    NSD 3/25
    SD 1/6

My food budget for this month was actually 208.00 but I reduced it by 20.00 as per instructed on the front page.
The petrol is for 2 vehicles and includes the car wash as the cars are getting so dirty because of all the salt on the roads, and I'm not doing it by hand at -11 oc
Once again I have a hair appointment but it's 7 weeks since my last one, I'm thinking I'm going to book the next one for 8 weeks time as suggested by another member.
Postage to the UK is steep again this month as all the birthdays seem to come at the beginning of the year for me so I've got to get some cards over for January and also a present over for early February.
The preplanned monthly treat is something new that I've introduced for Hubby and myself to give us a treat for all the money saving that we're doing. Hopefully it will give us something to look forward to guilt free. (I pinched the idea from the debt-free roll of honour thread ;))

Today I cooked some chicken thighs and vegetables in the slow cooker and then had a small portion for my supper. The rest has been divided up into single servings in margarine tubs and is going into the freezer. I currently have more chicken thighs defrosting so that I can do a repeat tomorrow, and then hopefully I'll have several ready meals that just require thawing and reheating. It feels great to have a plan :T

Hope everybody is keeping safe and warm.

    Hi all
have managed 2 Nsd so far, I'm looking to improve on this next week, apart from the budgeted spends ones, it looks good, onward and upward!!
Just to say that I don't drink, never have, I don't make excuses, I just order what I want, I really don't get why other people get so worked up about me not drinking, I don't care if everybody around me is falling down drunk that's their choice, I don't judge them,

On the making money front, I had to insure new car, and bagged 2000 nect#r points, I'm not sure if this counts?

Hope you all have a great weekend

    Hello,
Thanks for the ninja not drinking excuses. I'm finding it hard to get to sleep after staying off my glass of red, and also tend to wake up in the night and cant get back, BUT its nice to get up in the morning with a bit more bounce. Once I launch my serious 'get fit' plan (on Monday when kids are back to school) hopefully i'll be that tired that sleeping shouldnt be an issue ;)
Today I think will be a NSD (of the proper kind:D) soon the kids and I will head out up the hill with the dogs, then by the time we are all demuddied it will be lunch and a quiet afternoon. I might do a bit more listing on ebay but I dont really seem to be making much after postage on my books, it seems like a lot of effort for not much £.

Hope you all have a proactive and/or relaxing day!:rotfl:

    Good morning everyone
I thought I'd check in before I go to work to say hello and well done to everyone for such a good start to the year. I'm on NSD4 and at work until the shops close (which helps avoid temptation) unfortunately tomorrow will be a spend day because a couple of light bulbs have gone (always the ones you haven't got spares of) and 2 of OH work shirts have finally given up the ghost so need replacing (this was an expense I knew was coming though)
Neither are a major expense but annoying all the same.
I'm being very good cos i work in a shop and we have the sale on at the mo (but I am being stern with myself and not buying things I don't need)
The weather is quite mild here so hopefully the heating will stay off until this evening and when I work late we tend to have bacon butties for tea so no major cooking expenses. Its the pennies here and there that seen to add up I find because we think hard about bigger spends yet little ones sneak in unnoticed.
Anyway enough of my rambling, time for work
    Have a good day everybody

  • Morning all! Just popping in for the morning update :D

Planned spends today are £ shop for a few toiletries and Mr A's for a stretching shop. So no NSD to report for me but all essentials none the less.

Going to try a bit of bread making today... never done it before... just about to venture over to OS for some tips but thought I'd ask you lovely lor first! So, any tips?

Also, did someone on last months challenge post the fool proof way to cook rice? I usually get the 'in the bag' jobbies as i've never had much success with the other stuff. If someone could jog my memory that would be ace :D

    Happy Saturday!!!
