I was listening to a guy on the radio yesterday who said that swimming is twice as efficient at getting you fit as running, so I need to go to the pool more often - thinking of which I actually have a prepaid adult card!
I am here to cheerlead you again as I am too late to join this month, REALLY want to do this again though cuz even though I didn't quite succeed in Novemeber I really enjoyed the challenge and got ALOT more NSDs than I usually do. This month I am keeping a spending diary to keep an eye on myselfSo I promise to be good inspired by all you hardcore peeps! :j:j:j

Hi everyone just checking in for NSD day 3! Happy birthday BC and sending wishes for the poorlies.
NSK - I wasn't clear, I have a McD full coffee token only, I don't do McD food it's yucky.....my ideal fix would be crispy bacon in fresh baked bread mmmm (also not allowed due to diet but may cave in on pay day)
No money found or made as working but have been offered a buddy pass for three days at gym which I pass on way home so going to take advantage of that pool - even if it's just to look for 20 blokes!

Checking in to say Happy New year
fell down at the first hurdle and spent money on New Years Day on fast food of the chickeny kind, but was starving and we had some money leftover from christmas. But since then I've clocked up 2 NSDs, have made £5 on SB, had a refund to my CC of over £30 and been refunded £75 in am4zon vouchers. So I'm well on track for this making money and finding money lark.
Went onto online banking today and did the money shuffle. This is the first month where I'm putting all my money that isn't for bills into our joint account, I might seem mad as the OH is a student but I'm hoping it will mean we can start saving as I won't be wasting £600-£700 a month on rubbish. Spreadsheet all updated and we are short, which is to be expected as his loan hasn't come in. But we only need another £180 before it will start to be savingsHe should pay in £370 each month, so we'll be well on track. He's a bit nervous about us not having our own money, but we literally have everything covered.
OH did go out for milk & bread today, but this was out of change from my purse from last month, so I'm not counting it as a spend day especially as he literally only bought bread & milk.
From the vouchers I've ordered some white and some wholegrain spelt flour in bulk as we get through this with the breadmaker quite quickly. So as it's found cash not counting that eitherhurray \o/ getting things for nothing is gooood.

Well, got up this morning to an email from S'bubs - this time apologising for the high number of substitutions in my Christmas online food shop (there were 8 and only 2 were no good). Anyway, they've sent me a £10 voucher (on top of the £15.25 I got over the phone yesterday). So that's £25.25 from them in 2 days. I don't know if that counts as my find £25 or part of making £155.
Off to a friend's house for lunch - hoping that I can avoid a spend day - it is officially the last day of my holidays as well, back to school Monday. Time always flies when you're on holiday and drags over at work.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Morning everyone!
Feel like this chalenge is eally starting to change something inside me. Have spent so many yearsin debt, living from one credit card to the next. Think I have just reached my limit and feel like this challenge really offers the possibilities for us taking control of our finances again.
Have 2nd NSD yesterday - not particularly hard as I was feeling realy awful!!! Felt sick and shaky all day and absolutely exhausted. Bless them, my two daughters (aged 14 and 8) looked after and amused my twin boys (13 months) ALL day. We just went into lockdown in the living room so they played with them all day while I dozed on the sofa. Therefore not hard to resist spending!!!
PLanning another NSD today. Have it in my head that I won't be spending ANYTHING until Monday now, when I return to work after the xmas hols (I'm a primary school teacher). Will need to fill up cars with fuel and do weekly shop. Going to brave Lidls for the first time to try and stretch my £40 food shop as far as possible.
Made £5.69 by price comparing all my old receipts from Tesco last night. Do you think thats accumulate £25 pot or make £155?
Ebay not going great as everything I have been able to put on there is a relist and so no bids yet:(. However, husband does a bit of freelance design work and that could hopefully go into the £155 pot if he gets paid before end of the month. We have started to keep his freelance money in a seperate account as emergency account for cars - know my brakes and tyres need doing next month and he has £300 put aside for this - just hope its enough!!!!! Cars are probably our biggest expense which is sooooooo frustrating. We have no finance on them - just fuel and maintenance. So many times we have tried to find ways of reducing our spending in this area, but we leave in a very rural area and our cars are our absolute lifeline. Also, having 4 children means they are an absolute essential. Would love to go down to one car but with hubby and I working in different directions, no public transport and 4 children to get to 2 different schools and a childminder, its just not humanly possible. So frustrating that we spend almost double on fuel what we do on food!!!!!
Anyway, better go and get sorted for another day proudly penny pinching!!! Good luck everyone for another saving day.

Bless you Beckyboo - hope that you're feeling better today.
I'm on the mend - which is typical timing for a teacher due back on monday as well. Today is going to be NSD number 3. I am starting to think that shopping is an addiction for me as I am twitching to go out. Instead I am facing a day of getting the house back in some sort of order - wish me luck!!44 day challenge

Ahhhhh there you are...found you.
Strange location for a one month challenge.
I noticed the other day and still today, this challenge is not listed in the sticky for the 2013 challenges, some posters running challenges have posted on the sticky asking to have their challenges added to the list, just an idea.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
