January's Big Financial Freeze!!!

Morning! We are in debt free diaries now thats why we are hard to find!
I'm being good on no spend days except for foodie ones (3 already and its only the 4th Jan!!) BUT, i'm stocked up now so shouldnt need more food until towards the end of the month. If I need milk i'll have to plant that in on a normal spend day. Wow I have never been so organised!
I'm struggling a bit with the find £25 and ebay. When you have been skint for a long time you generally run out of ebay stuff, though I will have a go and see how much I can get as i could really do with an extra £180!
Hope everyones having a good frugal day!0 -

Today I went swimming and half way through I realised that I was the only girl in the swimming bath among at least 20 guys :-) I was wondering looking at them whether they were struggling with debts ha ha!
Here reporting my 3erd NSD!
I will SUCCEED!
I need to apologize!!!!! - I for whatever reason though you were a boy! **blush**...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Good morning.
I went to my exercise class this morning (I'm a member of a gym) and quite enjoyed it but it was a bit of a shock to the system if I'm honest.
Checked the online banking and it isn't pretty so today will be a NSD for sure. Tomorrow I may well go to market first thing to get some vegetables and meat, but I'm going to have a fish round first in the freezer and see what we could cobble together. So far I have spent very little of my food budget but haven't managed to make any money or even find any (well, apart from vouchers).
I have been decluttering and tidying which, although it doesn't make money certainly takes my mind off the lack of money.Trying to keep in budget.

Morning all!
Hope you're all well/feeling better today.
Did the batch-cooking last night. Made 2 pasta bakes, 2 lasagnes and a bonus 2 portions of chilli (one's a bit small but will do us on jacket spuds one weekend lunch)
Hubby didn't seem to notice he'd only got 2 sausages at tea instead of his usual 3. I'm cutting down portion sizes as part of our lose weight & get fit campaign rather than him thinking he's eating healthier food and missing out on his faves IYSWIM.

Good Morning Chickadees - quiet day at work so a quick update. I got an email back from MSE which was no help whatsoever. Will have to try another email address as they would not send it on to the correct one or give me an answer. I am sorry about the inconvenience but i was not told about the move!
Today is going to be an NSD for me. I smashed up my bookcase yesterday having given books away I no longer require and that I could not earn from so am really in the "down-size" mode. Will be hunting through my clothing tonight. My problem - being 5'8", athletic, with long limbs. I always seem to have collection of clothes that reach and cover all parts... this is why I am buying NO MORE CHEAP CLOTHES and will invest in pieces that do all of the above and last years! So out with the old in with the new ( in a year:( )....
My landlady is getting her washing machine fixed today ( fingers crossed ) so the mountain of clothes that have built up over the last month ( yes a month ) shall be scrubbed tonight! That's my Friday night sorted..:T..(although I love a good clean up)...I refused to go to the laundrette and washed essentials by hand ( just like Mummy used to do )..
People talking about the gym here is making me feel fat. One "local authority" gym near me is £42 a month. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room included plus classes and a gym thats open to 10pm... tempting but one more bill I could do with out. Might check out that other gym near me this weekend in between cinema visits with a girlfriend ( Sat and Sun night ) to use out Cineworld cards....
Overtime on Sunday should bag a nice £180:p. although I need the other three this month granted as well - then I can breath a sigh of relief...
Beckboo don't stress about the cars - they are clearly essential. Sounds like you are making up for the expenditure elsewhere anyway...
Wannabee - put it towards the £25.....although I think if people have NOTHING to eBay to aim for the £155 it will make this part hard. SO... anything regarding coupons etc put on the £25 amount.. any overtime / extra jobs / donations / money found etc put towards the £155... I am not exactly sure how my eBaying will go this month. Might list some clothing for 99p...
Right that's all for now....
Onwards and Upwards!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Okay - so I have added another 4p to my penny gathering (grr!) by downloading and using the nectar search bar (use it to search for a website and, if it is an allowed one, get "paid" one point. I ahve also sat and listed another 5 items on ebay - all with starting prices for under 99p but you never know! Methinks that its now time to get off the computer and tart doing the housework!44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
We seem to have a few people losing lbs on here! I go to SW and amazingly managed to lose 2.5lbs over the New Year week.........!
I wonder if getting in control of debts goes hand in hand with getting in control of weight too? TAKING CONTROL!
Anyway my weight loss is going a bit better than this month's budget!
1. I've just been invited to a friend's BIG birthday celebration which will involve an additional tank of fuel........it will be a nice weekend though! We are staying in a cottage so we can take our own wine and food, which will limit the damage a little.
2. I bought a recipe book at SW....never bought one before, and justified it as it will give me some ideas for batch cooking !
I had fruit for breakfast, and have brought something out of the freezer for lunch......so hopefully a NSD
Onwards we go!0 -
Hello, I'm on NSD 3 here and hopefully should have another one on the weekend. Need to do a big grocery shop tomorrow though that should last us a while. Coming down with the lurgy too
in time for the weekend. Heyho.
Well, done to the weight losses. I've got the opposite problem, ever since I was pregnant (after which I was down to my normal size within weeks) I still keep loosing weight. It's gotten to the stage now where I will probably see a doctor soon, because sth isn't right. And yes I've tried eating more.
(Re-)Listed another few item for 99p too on ebay. Not getting my hopes up. Coming to the end of sellable stuff though. Well, we'll still need to do the christmas tidy, so I might yet find more.
Anyway, lovely day here, better ignore the sunshine and crack on with work.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Afternoon all
I got my agony aunt, just waiting for a reply. Silly I know but I'm not sure if I was ready to put it completely 'out here' as you never quite know who's reading. And because it's money related I don't like talking about it IRL...
I hop all you coldy / fluey people are feeling better. Is it me or is there so much of it going round?
Reporting for NSD #3 of the true NSD type. It's looking good so far for the month I think, I really don't tend to spend on days that I am at work as I am tied to my desk lol. Exception to that is petrol on the way in if it's needed or a food shop in the evening. It's the weekends I need to watch out for!!
Searching_me Please may I trouble you for the slow cooker meatball recipe? I tried before and they all fell apart and we ended up with mince mush. Slow cooker is a funny one in our house, we're always on the look out for decent recipes. We're not fans of casserole and stew, anything veg heavy and 'sloppy' doesn't go down well(shame as it's easy and cheap!) So if anyone else out there has any decent recipes that aren't gravy based please send em over :j
eBay update - Listed something for 99p that I got as a pressie for Christmas. Lord only knows why I was given it... it's not something even remotely close to my hobbies and tastes. It's had a bid of £6.00!!!!! I doubt it cost that new!!! I'll never get my head around the people of eBay.....
Swagbucks still slow. Boo.
Well done you lot on your fabitty weigh losses! Hoping I can join you with that sucess very soon. One of the things I will be doing when we are debt free is re-joining the gym. Gave it up last summer and miss it more than I ever thought I would!
Quiet weekend planned (and needed!) No real spends planned, but will need to go and get some carby bits to go with the contents of the freezer so will need to plan that out properly.
And today, no lowering of the debts as no money coming in. But none going out either. And that's the important bit0
