  • Well I am home sick.

Booooo for the sick! Lots of rest, hope you feel better soon. Do you get paid sick? I know some people don't. Hubs don't and had a day off last week and I was a bit meh about it :( Which makes me a horrible person, i know i know........
  • I do get paid but it goes against my record and they look at it and take it into consideration if you ever want to move within the company.. although I think I have 5 days in 5 years which isn't too bad I guess...

I can't remember who it was that has sausage and mash for dins tonight, but me too :D

And the big news of today is..... Hubs got paid. Went over the budget for the month again (For the millionth, gazillionth time, I look at it 2 or three times a day. Is this normal? Should I be worried?) and I realised that for him, it's a 5 payday month. Shifted the extra all about and am OVER THE MOON to say that, for the first time in 5 years, our debt is now UNDER £6000.00.

Another one here with sausage and mash for tea - thanks his missus!!

Mayfair - well done on getting below £6000 :T these milestones keep us all motivated!!

Well done Mayfair, you must feel good about it :j
We're having chilli turkey sausages (a bit healthier than the extra thick cumberland sausages Hubby prefers) Didn't realise I was starting a banger & mash trend:D

Hugs to you as well NSK!!

Just popping in to say that I have found another way to gather thiose pennies -although I am sure that the more experienced amongst us will already know this one. On the freebies board there is a link to join the royal mail surveys board. As far as I can see they send you random amounts of mail over a three week period and you record it. You then receive a voucher for £5 worth of stamps. Seems worth it to me.

I used to do this and they paid in stamps each month 12x1st class and 4xlarge I think. I used to collect them and then Hubby would sell on them on ebay in packs as we don't use stamps a lot. Did ok out of it:)

Hope you feel better soon NSK and hope it's nothing too serious that a few days rest can't cure.

Well today has turned out to be a spend day. I went into town at lunchtime, just for some fresh air as it was fine, then it started raining! So had to buy a brolly from £shop as I didn't think getting drenched would help my cold in the slightest. So am making the most of my unexpected spend day and treated myself to some new eye shadows in Debs sale (time to bin my old sets I think, all over 2 yrs old) and order some new underwear. Will use the money mum gave me for xmas (don't think I'm going to find a coat in the sales after all:() so not quite a real spend as such but counting it anyway (just in case I do find a coat).

ETA: Just ordered a free graze box via a cashback website and used cashback site to order clothes too :)

  • Hello JBFFers!

So I am currently on NSD number 3 :D

I have also pledged to work later shifts in work next week so there's an extra 41.20 to be added to my extra income, so currently on 136.28 for the extra income and it's only the third of the month!

Kat - luckily my normal shifts are only 7.5hours long, 5 days a week so doing the overtime just makes me work the same amount of hours of most normal jobs I just get extra pay for it! I look forward to bank holidays just because of being paid 2.5 x my normal rate and it's always an easy shift ;) Don't be making yourself ill on overtime though missy!

I don't have anything at all I can eb** to make extra monies that way but can I be let off by working extra hours? Especially as I have already exceeded the 125.00 target nearly reaching the additional 25.00? Hope I can do this and it doesn't count as cheating?

I am ooberley excited for payday on the 19th so that I can pay off my final overdraft... all 680.00 of it!! 2 weeks to go and counting...

    Have a good day peeps!

  • Afternoon all,

sorry to hear you are feeling sickly Kat, hope you feel better very soon.

A scheduled spending day today. But... cancelled coffee with my friend as I felt awful when I got into town, and was meant to be out this evening but that got cancelled too (2nd date who I wasn't that fussed about anyway so was secretly quite pleased!) :money:

I had Christmas money to use in the sales for some jeans.... went into the place where I was going to buy them but they were unhelpful and the shop was filthy, I was really put off. So I tried another couple of (cheaper!) places which I had given up on before because they have never fitted very well. Different story today, I was very pleasantly surprised.

I've ended up with a pair of jeans, new black cardi and a couple of much needed baisc tshirts, plus my half-marathon entry for March, all for what I would have spent on jeans. So I am very pleased. The only downside is that I didn't have my student card with me to get the discount - agonised but decided to just get them in the end in case they went. Lesson learned... always carry card in future!

I have £33 extra income as a quidco payment finally came through (from MONTHS ago!). I had to use some of this on skincare (please don't shout, my skin is awful at the moment, took me ages and a lot of wasted money finding what I use now and I can't risk changing my brand right now!) but still have £8 left after buying what I needed. And 10p found in my jeans before I put them in the wash

Food spend was £2.97 - milk, sugar and poo bags for the dogs (the super cheap ones!) :rotfl:

Another NSD tomorrow (food excepted), and probably Saturday/Sunday too.

Off to do an Aldi shop tomorrow....

Get well soon KAT! Am feeling pants too. Got this weird coughing/headache/aching limbs virus. Went to the Drs today about my migraine and he wants me to have a blood test to check the acids and B vitamins in my blood. After the Drs I did nip to the local Co-op and get some soup, milk, bluberries etc. That little lot came to just shy of £10! Not good.

Have checked my bank and got £250 left until the 26th, which isn't bad considering my Christmas spending. Need to do more adpoints today and check bags, coat pockets and down the sofa.

Also as due to being ill, I couldn't attend the speed awareness course which I was due to go on. Hoepfully will be third time lucky and have rearranged it for the second time for early February, just before my birthday.
  • I'm watching Confessions of a Shopaholic on BBC2 :D

I've seen it before but seems quite appropriate given this challenge! :j
