Evening everybody :) loving the enthusiasm!! Everyone's doing so well, kind of like taking a runny at a hill (is that a local phrase? Don't know, but I just mean we're starting brilliantly so when it starts to get tough, we've already got all these NSDs and partial £25s under our belt).

I clocked up NSD number 2 today (even managed to resist those yummy hot from the baker NI soda breads-although, tomorrow may be a different story!) and sold a £15 item on eBay so I'm happy so far.

I also have a full coffee card for Giraffe, Cafe Nero and a full unused £10 Starbucks gift card so no excuses for unplanned, non-approved spends during January for me!

My supermarket budget for the month is £50 (was £100 in my pre-NSK days :)) and I'm going to be more on the ball with healthy meals this month too. I know what you mean kat about healthy food costing more...I'm now paying the price for NOvember and DDD budget conscious eating habits and feeling a few pounds heavier and a bit more sluggish, but a bit of healthy eating and a return to the gym should sort that out in no time...less bread, less pasta, more chickpeas, more Zumba :)

    So far...
    NSD: 2
    Spent: £0
    Earned: £15
    Found: 10p
    Soda bread consumed: nil

I've made an audit of my cupboards, and made a menu plan using what we've got. 2 NSD so far.

I am ok with money- much better than I used to be anyway! Just like to spend I can't remember the last time I had a NSD so I think my New Years Resolution should definitely be to make sure I have at least 2 NSD's a week and convince myself I don't need to spend money everyday!

Obviously I won't be including driving (petrol) andany bills that come out. but just general spending- latte's-internet shopping-late night trips for Tesco to go grab the bargains from the grabbit board lol. I really need to stay offthat! Wish me luck aiming for a NSD tomorrow :)

Just popping in to report NSD yesterday :j

Also, of my ebay listings 3 have watchers on them but they're fairly low priced items so won't go for much if they sell. Still, every penny counts doesn't it.

Hoping for another NSD today....will report back later.

    Morning everyone!!!

Am so NOT a morning person... maybe if I went to bed *before* midnight lol...

So - that's resolution one - get in some early nights so I spring out of bed first thing ready to take on each day - rather than have to be surgically separated from my duvet!

Resolution two - study for work - so I feel empowered and able, and keen to put in those extra hours.

Resolution three - no gambling (other than the National Lottery - which I figure goes to good causes anyway).

That's enough for now! I've got to think up some ways of building up that £25 additional funds. There's loads of ideas on threads across the MSE forums - just need to plough through them! Lunch all packed and stew for tonight so...

    Today = NSD number 3

Stay on track folks!!! Ask yourself do I want? Do I need? If temped... If it's a want... RESIST!!!

    Hi all,
Just checking in..... hopefully today will be NSD 3, it will be a proper one with no food/fuel ;) En mass doggy and child walking this morning, then expecting Asda delivery of boring items (paid for on the 1st) that will hopefully go a long way (lentils and stuff ). Had a quidco payment so classing that as part of the make £155 challenge so at least I feel like i've made a start :o. Will try and root 3 things out later to sell.
Hope everyone has a good day!

Now off to find out where I can get my replacement razor blades for under my £5 beauty budget...

Dont know if you have seen this before https://www.kingofshavessub.com/site/be-a-king-select-a-plan/uk-subscription-plans/
You get 4 blades sent to you each month for £3 or £4 depending on blades chosen. Also postage is free and you can pay via paypal.

Otherwise, 2 NSD for me and have made a few bob of my £25 but not sure exactly yet. :)

    Hello and Happy new year.

First day at work and I've not quite found the ON switch yet ;(.

Had two NSDs already but need to top up fruit, wipes and nappies that we ran out of over the hols. Luckily we've got enough veg etc left over to last a while.

This month I'm highly motivated. Paid £230 into my CC and some into my savings accounts so it's gone. But EDF just raised my DD without warning due to higher usage over the hols and that's an unplanned £40 gone. Heyho, more motivation to keep the rest down. As we have 10C here and it's lighter again, I'll start cycling again and save my bus money, and get my exercise quota that way.

Maybe put off work a bit longer and read through the rules again.

    tada

    Good morning all

Reporting NSD3 for today as I won't need anything, made pasta sauce last night at the same time as making risotto so that's ready for tonight. I need to go to the bank to swap DS's account to a higher paying one so will do that at lunchtime. Also need to post my Ebay item but buyer paid postage so that's not a spend for me.

    BLD and snacks from stores.

Swagbucks - made target already today, and am up to the limit with Nectar Adpoints so might actually be able to stay off them both for the rest of the day! Will still keep an eye on the thread though in case of any good Swagbucks offers.

    Have great days everyone xx

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all!

My Mr A delivery last night came to £57 and included £4.98 of toiletries. It also included enough loo rolls and laundry stuff to last at least 2 months.

Sausage n mash for tea tonight and tomroow's tea will have to be ham n cheese pasta bake as I defrosted too much ham to make butties. Made butties for both of us for today and tomorrow and still some left over - really misjudged that one!:rotfl:

Didn't make it to the gym last night, we both have really sore throats and coughs, think we'll wait until we're feeling 100% before we go throwing ourselves back into exercise.:D

Today should be a no spend day but won't count it yet...
