    Poor you Citizenkitten,

I hope you're not as shaken up as you were but I know these things can take a while to get over.

thank you for your kind words, i am going to take your advice, even though i couldnt see any of her details. i am going to write about how consistently this spot causes a lot of problems.

hope you had a good day, mine caused a hemorrhage in my bank account LOL!

got my car serviced £395 later...... .... ... .. this car honestly money pit this year! it is good thing i LOVE my car and will be using it for my wedding.

then decided might as well go food shopping so still no NSDs

my freezer is now about to burst, in fact, i am about to chip off some ice so i can get the door properly shut!

dont worry NSK, i will be eating out of it because it desperately needs defrosting and have already warned OH i am NOT going shopping until that damn thing is empty. or he will be shopping.... but i havent seen hell freeze over yet...

    so

    90.09/160 GC budget
    0/25 NSDS
    0/155 make a fiver
    35/55 petrol

BUT!!! found 1p in the work canteen
1p in an old saving account
I saved too much for paying my accountant so got £20.09

    So find £25

  • Good EVENING!!!

So I sat on my bed with my hair dye in looking like a right moron about to watch Avatar. However my cat doesn't seem to mind the toxic fumes arising from my head...

This thread is moving so fast its unreal! Lets clear up the NSD issue and the extra five "spare"... you have 6 days to plan everything. Shopping petrol and seeing friends - which means you all should have a "quiet" month! :rotfl: However should you NEED a spend day for food or petrol ONLY you may spend but still call it an NSD. You should not be needing these now. Your ultimate aim is 25 NSD's....

If you have counted today as " one of five " then so be it but from tomorrow otherwise stick with the above mentioned explanation in red.... hopefully that makes sense! SOrry for any confusion!:T

CitizenKitten - I know how scary the roads can be. Cars that approach behind me and not turn there lights down - since my wing mirrors are so close together ( I have a motorbike ) I am completely blinded, if I speed up to get away they follow... morons! I really hope you have settled a little now and don't feel too anxious about getting back out there tomorrow... glad you are safe though!

Lilt I saw that article. Her house gives me the impression it needs a bit of a dusting but from what she says and from what I have read about so many sites giving things away I will be looking to do the same thing now that I have to move. I hate moving... especially as its my 10 move in as many years...(ish!)...

Black Cat / Lubava / Oompa Loompa and Ninadam WELCOME!!!

Fairy3 I have a full Cafe Nero stamped card waiting to be used when my caffeine levels dip below normal. However I can't condone the consumption of McD's but for the sake of this challenge and the "fix" it gives your brain bits I shall let you off...:rotfl:

L2B - WOW! Now that's what I call progress! I have secured another overtime shift on Sunday which is overtime.. fingers crossed for every Sunday from now on!!!

Wannabe - your post about food was interesting. You are right about the prices and the stuff we can do without. My ex used to have a Ben&Jerry's habit. One tub = one sitting! Horrendous. However I think I went shopping on Monday in error... tired, head-achy, and panicked. Bought non-value fruit and veg and that was my error.. I am much more on the ball now.. thank you for your comments though!!

Lillian - well done on your M&S credit notes and that eBay sell!!. You must have been able to return a good few things in order to get a piece of furniture from them. I LOVE some of there "undergarments" ( don't want to make the boys blush:p:p:p)..especially stockings, they are the only ones that fit me properly and feel lovely - shame they are £6 a go and I rip them so easily...Grr!!

Poodle - I think the others have answered you already but no the postage does not class as a spend thank goodness... hope you get loads posted on Fleabay. I am getting my bits together to have a go tomorrow! YEAH!!! I want that £155 for the month to pay for my Birthday flight and have a little left over to go towards my hotel...starting to panic a little!!

Ninno - bless your cottons. I should not really have coloured you in cause sometimes names don't give away gender! :D But I am guessing a girl yes...? I am proud of your cooking despite being ill.. I am defo coming down with something and feel like death warmed up however I have concocted a little something for tomorrow's lunch...proud of you! :p

Mayfair .. Lillian is right. Psychologically you are closer to your goal , interest free or not. WELL DONE on getting rid of another debt no matter what it is!!! You should congratulate yourself more than anything!

Marylea - yes and yes again! Well done on getting hold of that cheque!!!

    His_Missus I am very proud of your 4p cash-back!..:p

Candy get on that OT.. I am an Over Time BANDIT at the moment.. making me anti-social, tired, slightly ill but I don't care..:T:T:T

32b3 - I hope you are having a little more than ham and a babybel for breakfast tomorrow..:p I used to LOVE babybel, and cheddar... and gruyere.. and just cheese in general..ahem. Well done on your NSD though!!

Now I could go on commenting ( ESPECIALLY the **Man in the Kitchen, THERES A MAN IN THE KTICHEN**...I Will Succeed well done on your foody feast :p:p) on each persons post but I don't want to make this too much longer.

Today was a spend day for me.. I stupidly lost my house keys and had to buy a new set £13... and a few more bits at Tesco to save me going out for a few days now... I am planning 5 NSD's in a row starting tomorrow...:- )

Abundant ..I feel your pain about the gym.. mine is cost. Otherwise I love a good thrashing on the chest press..excuse my terminology. Gonna check out what's called a "grunters" gym near me in the next few days. Get the big boys to train me for free cause I wear something tight...ahem....

Right enough... Keep it going, keep pushing it hard, save those pennies and say no to what you DON'T NEED!!!!

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

Wow..........I got through the day without spending anything!

Breakfast at home, took lunch to work, Dinner from fridge, and no spends anywhere!

Thanks for the clarification on the NSDs, I was kind of hoping to only spend from my Food and Fuel budget this month. I really really don't NEED anything else. I've made a fairly hefty dent in it already I'm hoping to just buy fresh fruit and vegetables.

Thank you for all the positive vibes from everybody today, it helps to know I am not the only person in the world trying to clear debts!

Checking in with my first NSD (yesterday) and also a spendy day today. I got my brother and SILs christmas presents in the sale (we always meet up after Xmas and do presents) and also some vegetables, so a small grocery spend too of 16.35 €.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Sorry I'm a bit late back on board, just wanted to make sure I had my budget perfect before I committed!

Although I didn't spend more money than I had last month, I ended up spending all my ebay earnings on top of my budget. So really need to knuckle down this month!

I have planned all my spend days and think I already have a couple of weeks worth of scrummy lunches in the freezer. Now off to find out where I can get my replacement razor blades for under my £5 beauty budget...

Will update sig shortly, but count me in again Kat!!

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for the cheerleaders - it's much appreciated - and knowing I'm being watched also helps me along!!!

A few people were chatting about clearing smaller debts - that's the way I am doing it - and it has felt good as each one has dropped off my list... Of course it does mean I have two big whopping ones left to clear - but as they are both 0%, I pay a set amount on my DMP and the rest I plough into an ISA so that I'm earning on that - and when it reaches enough to wipe my debt from the face of the Earth - I'll zap it all across to my DMP.

Well - I found a random £1 lurking in an old unused money box, and managed a spend free day again, so that makes:

    Today = NSD number 2

    Additional Funds Total = £4.96 / £25.00 Target
As an aside - I've started my own 'Debt Diary' thread called 'Journey to the Emerald City' if any of you want to check it out. There's not a lot on there yet - but it will be an account of my highs and lows, my inspirations and my victories. Of course - I'm going to still be a dedicated poster on here - because this thread is what keeps me sane and gets me through each month! Similarly the other threads I'm a part of will still be my mainstay. My diary thread is more so I can look back on things as the year progresses and see where I've come from and what - if any patterns I have emotionally etc.

Keep up the good work folks! We're doing our NSK proud!!!

    Hi everybody,

Just a quick update from me so you don't all think I joined and disappeared.

    NSD 2
    SD 0

So that's it, not much to say when nothing has happened.:D

It's great to see so many newbies, and to read everybody's progress and challenges, plus there seems to be a lot of ebay activity :T

Checking in with my second NSD. :)

Not been difficult so far but buying lunch and coffees at work is my weakness so I'm planning on doing a grocery shop this weekend ready for Monday. :o

  • Back to work today but managed another no spend day :j. On market tomorrow, i do a second hand stall every thursday, so hopefully (fingers crossed) i will take a bit of money although it is usually very quiet at this time of year. 5 more items listed on Ebay and someone bidding on 4 of yesterdays listings so that's looking good as well.
It really helps to read all the other posts as i get really motivated by everyones success stories.

This year i WILL have savings!
  • Hello everyone! NSK thanks for signing me up! I've managed 2 NSDs so far and have been going through old stuff trying to get it listed and get some cash for it - some stuff is so old it's worthless though! Also registered with adpoints so thanks for the suggestion! Good luck everyone, I'm glad we're all going to keep each other on the straight and narrow!!
