NSD 2 :j
Just back from work and have been trying not to listen to all the bargains everyone else has got. I will not sale shop. I keep thinking about stuff i ebay and how little you get for the stuff you have paid for. I sold a clock that cost me £35 in a sale for £5 recently and it had never even been out of its box
Nice to have the £5 but would have been better not to spend the £35 in the first place. Anyway no sales for me this year.
Hope everyone had a good day p0lly x
I absolutely agree !........I have lots of 'bargains' from previous sales.. This year I have limited myself to 'essentials' some leggings, some towels, some boots and a new winter coat. I though long and hard about these purchases and didn't just grab them because the were 'a bargain'. I also funded some of the cost from e-bay sales. I try and buy secondhand from e-bay too.
Well done you for resisting!0 -
Hiya
NSD 2 for me today!!
Had to help mum sort her car (flat battery) and we had to take it out for a run. Her car only knows the way to the garden centre so there we went. It was full of Christmas sale items and in another life I would have bought loads of stuff. I managed to resist and ya know what? ..... the world didn't stop turning !!!
I came away having spent zip! Wohoo!! and the bonus was that mum treated me to a hot choc for helping her out YAY !!
Lunch was HM soup (leftover veg + gravey from roast yesterday & wizzed in blender YUM!) and dinner is mushroom strog with LO yogurt/celery/mushrooms and fresh (Yes fresh!) thyme. I was amazed I had all the stuff in the fridge which normally I would have chucked.
I'm hoping I can keep this up when I go back to work on Monday but as everyone knows after a long day my cookery inspiration seems to disipate. I am going to do some batch cooking so I have some HM ready meals to fall back on.

Hi Beckyboo.....I'm a Slimming World member and I have found batch cooking a god-send.....I try and makesure I always have some meals in the freezer to deliver me from temptation.
Mushy peas are 'free' on SW, and Aldi's are 10p a tin and taste OK great for grabbing when you feel hungary, I often eat a tin season with salt and pepper as soon as I get in or while I'm waiting for something to cook etc.
Do you ever look on the Approved Food website ? They sometimes have tinned beans and lentils etc and as long as you storage space or can share an order with a friend it can work out quite economical.... be careful though, you can get carried away.....I have A LOT of cous cous!
Good luck with this challenge AND SW! :T0 -

Hello everyone,
This afternoon I felt like a grandiosa chef in my kitchen! I haven't used my grocery monthly allowance just yet because I still have some vegetables left in the fridge, Today I used the last chicken breast for soup (starters) and retrieved the chicken to add in the Russian salad I prepared and served with rice. I also used the last pieces of bacon, tomato sauce and basil to cook pasta for my husband to take to work.
Reporting my 2nd NSD
I will SUCCEED!
No debts 🙌0 -
Just checking in after work......2nd NSD, free food and more free food when I got home! loads of chocs and doughnuts at work been brought in...as no time to eat brought some home for the sin tin to find sis had kindly brought cheese, biscuits, mini puds, biscuits and 2 packs of smoked salmon (suspect she is beginning the diet) so teens sorted for snacks and I will freeze and probably eat the salmon for lunches yum!
Going to wait for the weekend for ebaying and might need my hand holding as had one not so successful attempt before.
I agree Kat is very inspiring and everyone is so positive it is making January a lot brighter.
Off to have an indulgent bath in bubbles received as gift with yankee candle 'tarts' moonlight ocean so will be squeaky clean and virtuous!

Hello All! I'm baaaaack! Happy New Year!
Kat, can you please sign me up?!
Sorry to be late, I was away in Edinburgh seeing in the new year. Which I'm proud to say was not as expensive as previous years (due to my own self control) but in no means cheap! No NSD to declare yet, but hoping for several in the coming days.
Right I'm doing this on my phone (hate that, can't see properly) so will catch up with the thread properly soon.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Evening all.
Had my first spending day. Managed to get all the grocery bits i should need this week including nappies/wet wipes for £38 so just under my £40 weekly budget. Was really careful to add up as I went along so was relieved to say the least when I got to the tills and the total was what I expected it to be. I felt like Carol Vorderman going round the aisles adding up on my little notepad!!!! No planned spending now till Monday when I am back to work and will need to fill up my car on petrol. So frustrating that my petrol budget for the month is so much more than the groceries (or anything else for that matter!!!!) - £320 for fuel as opposed to £200 for food!!!! Have looked into car sharing etc.... but thats just living in a rural area for you:(
Having a quiet day at home tomorrow with the children - planning to play with lots of their xmas pressies so should make for a fun filled no spend day - the best kind!!!
Have a good evening everyone. XXXPay off all your debts by Xmas 2014 #45£1197.48/£12,047 - 9.9%
