Morning all - today is my first NSD. I am sitting here, full of cold and feeling sorry for myself - yet virtuous. I have defrosted a ham knuckle and am currently making ham and veg broth which will provide a number of "comfort food" lunches over the forthcoming week. Dinner tonight is some ys pork from the freezer with veg.

I have "earnt" 100 points on the nectar ads and am aiming to list three items on ebay.

Good luck to everyone - I'm off to investigate the nectar surveys now. xx

Just had a message from someone on Ebay who missed bidding on one of my items yesterday so she had transferred money directly to Paypal for me - bonus as now I don't have to pay the Ebay fees on it! Will add to my monthly total when I know what the postage will be exactly.

    Hi,
I'd love to join you all!
I had a NSD yesterday due to hangover from NYE, just lay on the sofa all day so hangovers are good for somethings!
Im back to work today so and i always do better with NSD's when im back to work and in a routine.

I Vowed at the end last year i would clear my debt (its really not very much but it sort of came out of nowwhere and im really annoyed at myself for kinda not realising i was even doing it???)

I have £900 on a virgin credit card ( it was £1700 in August when i decided to clear the cards and curb my spending so i have managed to pay off quite a bit already)
I have £1300 on an M&S credit card.
To be fair these are both 0% until October 2013 so i have divided how much i owe between 10months and thats how much i will pay per month if that makes sense....so i never end up paying interest!

I also owe about £250 on Next bill. this i will try to clear asap

I hope you dont mind me joining you, i know my debt is quite small but i really wanted to make sure i nip my spending on cred cards in the bud and feel this site and your ideas could help me? id like to start a family 2014/2015 and i certainly want to be debt free (apart from mortgage and car finance) when we decide to.

    GOOD LUCK to everyone!!!xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Welcome Ninadam - that's a similar situation to me - just keep putting a few things a month on my credit card, I always pay it off in full but am fed up being in arrears. Good luck!

  • Morning all! (Just!)

Happy days today. Managed to knock off one of the piddly diddly debts this morning. Not being charged interest on it so possibly not the most sensible use of the money but for some unknown reason, this one was realllllly hanging over my head. I can't work out why though....... Anyone else ever felt that?

Anyways, sigs been updated. Soon we'll be under 6000 which will make me smile, lots.

I'm really sorry to keep banging on about it, but I still don't know if I can class today as a NSD. £30.00 petrol out of the budget. Does that mean it's a grace day? Can I update the total to show 2? Sooooo confused. I'm sorry... I'm a bit new to it all!

Yes - I know a few people who pay off the small ones first even though it's not the most MSE as it stops them having, for example, 6 debts, now it's only 5 - feels better psychologically I think?

And yes, that's a NSD as Kat allows an extra 5 days for refuelling both petrol and food as long as they're budgeted for. So that's NSD2 for you!

oh dear, not so good start to my month. i spent yesterday as some stupid woman indicating incorrectly on a speedy roundabout almost crashed into my car and then proceeded to drive with her headlights on full beam down the road blinding me as i have a very low car. so i slowed down because i couldnt see the road, when she took her lights off full beam i then continued my journey but then she started to reflash me and i had to pull off to not be blinded by her.

I was so scared and cross as she was completely in the wrong and then continued to endanger my life !!!!!!!!!!!!

the roundabout is notorious there are three lanes and three exits, she was using the third outside lane indicating right, but what she meant was she wanted to take the 2nd exit...!!!

i was completely shaken as I have not been driving long as i gave up driving after some scary events happening to me and stopped at the petrol station to calm myself and buy myself and my other half dinner.

this is not the first time at this roundabout and I am going to write a letter to the council.

anyway brand new day, brand new start! had left over soup and mashed potato for breakfast and my oh half of yoghurt. got some mince defrosting and a couple of tin toms in the cupboard. comfort spag bol for dinner.

    Poor you Citizenkitten,

I hope you're not as shaken up as you were but I know these things can take a while to get over.

Regardless of whether the other driver was right or wrong, and I agree it sounds like she was wrong, she was wrong in the way she was driving afterwards. She was being aggressive, dangerous and intimidating, for these reasons alone she should be reported to the police.

Anytime anything like this happens remain calm and try to remember as much about the vehicle and the driver as possible and then pull over as soon as you can and write it all down. Then take the time to report it to the police as dangerous driving.

If this roundabout is as notorious as you say, then I would imagine there are cameras on it.

And don't think that the police are busy and they won't do anything about it, the police are here to protect everybody. Report it.

YAY! Thank you very much for your reply.

Isn't the psychology behind it strange. I think it was because it was small. And getting in the way a bit lol. And now it's done it's one less to worry about.

And very yay for NSD #2 :money:

Tell me..........does finding a cheque for £70 (that I have had since November) count towards 'finding' £25 ?

Or is it just evidence of my laxidaysical (sp?) approach to managing my money !!......Its on its way to be banked!

    Hello all!

How's the big financial freeze going for you all? Must say I'm feeling fairly confident about it today.

Ordered a grocery delivery for today so not a NSD for me but have ordered enough food (I hope) so I won't need to food shop til a week Friday (depends on how much the cats eat, they eat more in this cold weather)

Menu planned: Fish pie tonight, bean burgers, chicken curry, hm fishcakes, cheese n ham pasta bake twice, lasagne twice and sausage n mash/chips twice. Lunches will just be butties, porridge/cereal and/or toast for breakfast.

Hubby's back on his get fit regime so he plans to exercise everyday. Going to alternate between the gym after work and swimming before work then badminton on Sat & Sun.

Haven't really found any money as such yet but I have got 4p back from Mr A's price guarantee :rotfl:
