Hi,
I'd like to join this thread please.
When DS was having packed lunch at school, I was excellent at making them for DH and myself too. Come last September and DS decided he wanted school dinners and wham! my pocket got hit as I got out the habit of making sarnies for the grown-ups.
I also developed a huge coffee habit (old posters on the Save £2 coins and Extra Payment a Week Threads may remember my shame) so I was spending between £5-£7 a day. Buying a sandwich in Mr. S's then going into Starbys or Costa and getting a coffee and cake. Convincing myself it was ok as I wasn't spending so much on their overpriced food. We got a Tassimo machine for Christmas, bulk buying coffee on Amazon going via Nectar for points and it works out about 25p for a coffee that would cost me over £2 usually!
Also I'm back on the Weight Watchers - got all the books, trackers, calculators from last year already so no subscriptions.
I work 4 days a week and want to take lunch with me every day. So if I say an average of £6 a day saving £24 a week!
Todays lunch was quite dull, a granary roll with ham & tomato. Apple & banana.
Tomorrow is bacon & cheese quiche with roasted vegetable couscous.

Lunch for tomorrow is ready to go - corned beef and lettuce brown bread sarnie, some of the chrimbo twiglets and 3 of the remaining quality street. Plus 1 mr T value apple and 2 value pears, and my treat, a new box of raspberry and chilli tea bags.
I can spend up around £6 a day at work easily as I commute for an hour and can't eat before I travel. This £6 now easily covers any extra's I've spent on top of the normal groceries. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Hi all - I'm only here as one of my NY resolutions is to cut out bought lunches altogether; I was curious to see if there was a thread & here it is. I'm actually not that bad, worst case scenario I might buy 1 or 2 subway lunches a week (there's one right next to where I work), so wouldn't be saving much more than maybe £32 a month (worst case scenario).
Anyways, I thought I'd share one of my favourite lunches which is couscous. I have a tub with a lid which I use to eat from, fill it with the dry/unprepared couscous and fill a sandwich bag with what I want to mix it with (which sits in with the dried couscous until I'm ready to add water from the kettle at work). Usually it's seasoned chicken and grated cheese which is my favourite and when I'm organised it's quick & easy to prepare the night before (I just have to remember to take it out of the fridge the next morning lol).
I'm a REALLY fussy eater so my options are a little restricted!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

Hope all is well with everyone.
Penelopedee, I used to love corned beef sandwiches before I gave up eating meat. Used to have it with either coleslaw or pickle.
Shortie, love the sound of your homemade granola!
