Morning Florida! I'm on my train already with thermos in hand (a habit I've had for a few months already) and breakfast and lunch in my bag :). Feeling horribly queasy today but then I have been on and off for a few days now. I think I just need to get to normal food and more/better sleep

Hope everyone enjoys their lunches today! I'll report back on the granola later, lol

Hi Everyone
It's a work@home day for me so I'm not spending out on lunch! Instead I'm just about to liquidise the remains of last nights curry. Butternut squash and lentil dal - only lightly curried so great for a soup. Will also have a left over samosa. I made the samosas from filo pastry bought for Christmas mince pies.

I'm really trying not to go to a supermarket for as long as I can and use up all the extra food.

KittieJ is right in saying there are a lot of veggies in this group - I think it's easier to re-use or repackage veggie food. Easier than meat and fish anyway.

Everyone seems to be off to a great start - keep up the good work and no temptations on Friday!

I've worked out that this is one of the areas I need to save money, so it's great there's a thread for this! I probably spend around £3 a day, sometimes more as it's so easy to get something else "for later" at the same time when I don't really need it.

Yesterday I took leftovers from an Indian takeaway the night before (yeah, I guess that isn't really moneysaving in itself) and it was lovely.

Hello :j

Haven't been posting here but just read about all your progress. Brilliant and inspiring :)

Well so far so good. Made up sarnies yesterday (plain ham) and even made a flask of tea which I enjoyed so much :)

More sarnies today :)

Don't forget to Use up any leftover xmas napkins to use to mop up the crumbs in particular if I eat oranges. Brightens the lunch box up too.

As well as our restaurant it's BK and Maccy Ds that are temptations. And a Wimpey.

Well so far I've saved 2x days so that's usually a £10 spend. Think I might keep a running total of money saved and treat myself to something :j

Actually, I think there is a lot to be said for presentation, and maybe something some of us (definately me) can reserve for times when we're getting a bit bored of pack-ups, to spruce them up with a colourful napkin so something similar.

Not back at work yet but fought myself today to resist a Subway while shopping in town. Won the fight and came home and made a sandwich using bits in the fridge. £3 saved.:j

Hey I'm in if you'll have me lol.

I usually can spend anything upto £9 a day on both lunch and breakfast, and maybe some snacks after lunch

So I know i am useless with the breakfast and will just have to keep going with buying it at work as I like odd things for breakfast and can't stand toast, cereal etc lol.

BUT for lunch I can definitely be much better than usual as that costs me £5-£6 a day!!! Now its damn hard to do lunches at work as there is no microwave and no kettle!!! So i am stuck with sandwiches, but what I do is get a big old Gammon joint, boil it up for 90 minutes and then carve it up. Then make up a gammon and salad cream sandwich lol, not to everyones taste but i love it :rotfl:

Now the joint cost something like £4 but at sainsburys they sometimes do 3 for £10 and then a loaf of bread and some salad cream so I would say I get by with spending about £2-3 as I also have some crisps, chocky bar and a drink.

Sorry for the long winded post but I have already done 2 days and thats good for me lol!!!
• Hello, dont know whether to have porridge or soup tomorrow. Now I dont like soup but got given a couple of tins the other day so i should use them up. Hmmm.

Brown bread, ham and apple sauce and lettuce sarnie ready to go for tomorrow, with another 3 quality street and the twiglets I didn't eat today.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x
