  • Not much going on here. Over budget by a tenner this week but did get a few herbs and spices. Gonna get a few every week and add to my collection. Turned fri nights into homemade takeaway night and gonna have a go at new recipes which involves more exotic spices ( garam masala is exotic to me lol !)

Last night was homemade southern fried chicken night. The texture was right but not quite there with flavours. Might need to be more heavy handed with the spices I think. This fri will be homemade doner and pizza night, watch this space!

On the debt front, so very nearly under £25k!! Will def be under once the payments are made next month. Debating whether to try for another Barclaycard in the hubby's name to get more debt 0%. Gonna have to think about repayments if we did.....

Not bad going really. I have once again managed to stay in the overdraft this month, although dont think i have made much head way of getting out of it.
This months council tax free month will be cancelled out by the fact i have to renew my pin number and the lovely people at the NMC have decided to increase it to £100:mad: the joys of being a nurse eh?!?!

Not much else happening. Still waiting for an email to inform us when we have our £9.50 holiday for. They took the money at the start of feb............how long do i have to wait????

I got some expenses back from fuel at work, so treating me and my mum to one of those shrinking violet wrap things! (our mothers day pressie) supposed to squeeze the fat cells and then the liver breaks it down and you then pee it out. Few friends at work have lost quite a few inches so heres hoping a good result for me.

  • The loan came out today which can only mean one thing.................................................................................

    I AM OFFICIALLY UNDER £25K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And we have managed once again to stay within the overdraft (had £75 left to be precise) so all going in the right direction!

I have been off work for the last two days and had forgotten how nice it was to have days off in the week. Yesterday me and my mum had our shrinking body wraps (good outcome!) and today i have had a training bit for 3 hours and come home and made strawberry jelly to use the last of the strawberries about to turn and made a big jelly for tonights pudding and made up an ang3l d3light ice cream mix i got from appr0ved f00d to have with it.

Stepfrd wives eat your heart out:rotfl:

Need to start on my meal plan for next week. Trying to find different meals though as we seem have got into a rut of eating the same meals really.
Kids dont seem to mind and i have started adding more veg so it probably doesnt really matter..........its prob just me!

  • Well, had my £9.50 holiday confirmed!! :D Kids very excited. We got our second choice of dates and place, but looking at the place it looks fantastic. Its on the coast in scotland and looks really beautiful and the park itself has loads to do in it.

Means no money to the house or debt fund next month as will use that money for spends. Its worth it, like everyone says, we still have to live whilst on this journey.

My dryer has completly died and gone to household heaven. Still not bought a new one, instead i have gotten back to basics and drying it on the radiators. My house looks like a chinese laundry somedays but it has made me be more on top of the washing as i cant dry big loads!lol!

Tomorrow will be paying more off to the debts and also paying for my pin number...........................

  • 2 DEBTS DOWN, 3 TO GO!!!!!!!

The tesco card has been paid off!! Had enough in the debt fund to pay it off with what i would have paid this month as well. Such a good feeling!!
The next debt to tackle is the mbna card, which will take a bit more doing as its over £1k but hey, its still do able. Nothing extra will be paid next month and will use the extra £150 i have from paying off another debt to spend on the holiday.

Trying hard to muster the enthusiasm (SP?) to clean the house today. Keep doing little bits around other jobs i am doing (like paying off stuff:D) but just not motivated at all.

Think i will have a brew and have a play about with my debt manager app, coz thats how ii roll...:rotfl:

We are actually staying in the haven in Ayr. It looks such a pretty area.

Well we are still on track here in the rags household. Doing very well with the bank and not been in the overdraft since I got paid :) and hoping to increase the amount in before the mortgage comes out each month.

I am £212 away from being under £24K! The impatient me wants get it under but the new me knows its not too far away from next month so it won't be long before I am.

Have done the shopping tonight, figured with the crazy weather the market most likely wont be there tomorrow. We were over budget but got the 24 pack of toilet roll from mr m's so discounting that it was only over by a fiver. Have been getting choccie biccies and crisps and bits from h0me b4rgains but not sure i am better off money wise???? Have bought a big pack of jaffa's and shortbread for them to have instead.

I have had an intolerance test done and has shown I am intolerant to sugar , tea, bananas, yeast, vinegar, MSG and mushrooms! Makes eating very interesting as most food has some of these in!!!! Although it has stopped me snacking as it takes me that long to find something :rotfl:

  • I AM UNDER £24K!!!!!!!!!!!::T:D:T:D:T:D

Still here on the debt free journey, and for once it all seems to be going in the right direction. The past 4 years seem to have clicked into place (FINALLY!)

This weekend we have filled the freezer in the hope this will bring our weekly spend down. I have had to buy a bit of cook from frozen meat as i have found all the processed stuff has some form of yeast in it (?!?!) so on the days where i need something to eat and the kids have already eaten im not stuck. This comes after almost having a meltdown in mr A's as couldnt get anything to eat for tea one night!!!!! :rotfl:

My payday date has changed coz of the new tax code thing, which means i get paid between the mortgage coming out and the loan, and also it should mean less days in the overdraft so fewer fees! BINGO!

I have also managed to shave £4 off my gas and leccy direct debit. Nice to see something good coming out of my dryer dying. Fortunate lately that we have had some great days for drying washing outside. Just means i have a nice pile of ironing to do today. Swings and roundabouts.

Off this morning to get new tyres on the car (found a cheap site so £65 per tyre instead of near £90 :D and this afternoon DS1 is going for an eye test. He had one at school about 2 years ago and was fine, but to read and write, and even watching the tv he has to be so close! If his eyes are fine, i wont feel bad for keep on telling him to move away.

Think thats it for me. How are you all??
