Still here, not gonna be out the overdraft this month but hopefully one step away from the overdraft wall. Will be chuffed if we manage to stay in the overdraft this month and will make the hard work worth it.
Went £8 over budget this week on shopping. Not bad seen as we used to go £30-£40 over a week! Still enjoying meal planning and I had forgotten how much easier it makes things. No more staring into the fridge and freezer trying to decide what to have. And no the hubby will start making tea (if its simple) or will reheat it if I've been good and made a big pot of something the night before so I walk in from work to a yummy smelling house with tea nearly ready!!
Feeling a bit grotty yesterday so went to bed early so tonight's stew will go in the slow cooker. Need to make more use of it really.
It keeps trying to snow here. Has snowed enough to make everything look pretty but not enough to make getting to work difficult! I hate driving in snow
Hope everyone else is ok?December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Got the new PIN numbers for the spending account so transferred £100. That will be for shopping and fuel and hopefully have some left over. Looking back I was putting £70 in there but not sure what it covered???? Maybe I'm just more realistic than before. The hubby gets paid weekly so will transfer the money weekly too.
So far this month we are on track, this is great for us as usually either given up by now or getting no where fast.
Still saving monthly in a house fund (something always happens when we have no money and still have things we need/want for the house) but we had our eye on a certain dining table that has magically gone up £100 in the new catalouge:mad: we even got vouchers for Xmas to put towards it. Our table is on its last legs but so is our dryer so we are trying to figure which one to get first!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hi Rags!
Have you looked on freecycle (or whatever it is called now as I think it may have changed its name), or use the tool on this site to check for cheap 'pick-up only' sales on ebay, or on gumtree for the dryer? It may tide you over to the summer (or longer!!) .... giving you time to budget for a new one! xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
You know when your a dfw when it throws inches of snow down and your first thought is " I hope the market will be there tomorrow"!!!!!!!! :rotfl:December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Oh no, is it still there on a wednesday?
Hope the snow has cleared.0 -
It will be there on wed but I'm at work all day
Overspent on food by £10ish, just shows what a difference the market can make! We also went to a different shop, mr b's as they do 5 items (meat and fish) for £15. Meant not being able to meal plan till I had been. It's a good deal for what we got, not sure if I will do it weekly though. Guess it doesn't hurt to look (hands in pockets at all times:rotfl:)
Snow near enough gone now thanks to rain all night last night. Sounded very wild at times, the rain battering the window woke me up several times.
House smelling yummy as got the roast on for tonight tea and the beef and onions simmering ready to make the stew for tomorrow's tea. Reminds me of my nan's house.
Well, we have done well this month, will be £100 in the black for when the mortgage comes out! Usually well into the overdraft by now. :T
Next months plans might take a knock as car needs taxing, needs two new tyres and possibly back brake discs thanks to the salt and ice and snow. Watch this space! Do have some expenses due from work so that may go to the car and not debts.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
