i am very happy, the mortgage comes out tomorrow and for the first time in what seems ages, I still have some money in the account! £200! I know it will be gone tomorrow and will be back to being in the overdraft, but its a step in the right direction and just shows that the work and changes we have made are working.:)

hello!
Well I am happy to report that we have stayed within the overdraft!! Whoo hoo!
Now to start getting out of it and not using any overdraft in the month.
Have had some great news today, the mortgage people have not done some paperwork right (or something along them lines) on their loans, and are paying back all interest paid. Well my loan is one of them! But my loan forms part of my mortgage, and from quick calculations the payback will payoff the loan ( with possible some extra) therefore reducing my mortgage!!
All happy in the rags house today!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

i am very happy. Have to wait 3 months to get the final figure though but hey ho.
Have been doing some calculations and I don't think we will meet our target of paying off everything bar the loanthink we will go into next year with a bit still on the barclaycard.
But I'm not gonna dwell on this, will still keep going and adding to the debt fund where I can to pay chunks off.
Besides, looking at the whole picture we should be nearly under £17K heading into jan next year so if plans go how they should we are better off overall.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Well its payday today! whoopie!
Payments made, have put less to the debt fund this month than i first thought i would but have paid off the studio card with the extra instead. It the one with the least owed but most interest, and its boosted my morale!
So 1 debt down, 4 to go!
Will be putting the £50 i was putting to the studio a month on top of the tesco payments, so that should be cleared in the next 3 months.
Great boost for morale, and am gonna enjoy this feeling as once the tesco has gone, the amounts to pay off go up to thousands, not hundreds.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Still here, the boost to morale didn't last long. Feeling a bit daunted by the amount of debt and how long it will take to clear. The hubby keeps talking about what we will be able to do when we are debt free and it makes me impatient!! I know in my heart 3 yrs is not a lot in the grand scheme of things but I guess i still have the I want it now mentality, although its now to be debt free and not for materialistic things.
But I know that slowly is the way, gone guns blazing in the past and my debt has got no where as I just manage to get deeper into the overdraft.
Budgeting and only paying what I can afford extra is the way.
Ok, pep talk over. I am much better off than I was when on the Dfw rd before, lessons have been learnt.

Hi Rags!
1 debt down, 4 to go!!!
And if you can roll forward that £50 each month then you will soon be 2 debts down, 2 to go!!!
I've been feeling a bit flat about debt recently, but I can only do what I can do - no more!
You will be debt-free and the lessons learned along the road will be with your forever!! xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
