Just a quick update to say that there isnt really anything to update:rotfl: Its the end of the month and am in the same position with money left in the account. Great that it isnt worse but need to improve this. Hopefully next month will be better.
Budget for next month is done, should leave us a good buffer for increasing the amount left in the account but will see if it works out. Fine on paper but doesnt always happen that way.
Will update debt totals once im back home and have them in front of me.
Its a gorgeous day up here today, cant wait to get home and hang the rest of my washing out!its teh simple pleasures in life......................

Im back after a wonderful week away! The newspaper holidays are so worth it. Kids had a fantastic time and we enjoyed a good week together as a family.
I stashed £400 away so we had planty of money, but didnt go off site apart from going to mr m's to stock up so we didnt eat out every night.
Came home with enough to pay the cattery fees and this weeks food shop!! all good!
So, on the debt front, had a bit of a wobble yesterday. Was virtual shopping (the one where you put everything you want into the online bag and pretend you have no money worries) and completly depressed myself! In real need of new clothes, and my head started swinging back to thinking it would be so easy to just put it into an account and pay monthly. But it didnt, i turned it all off!!:A Still a bit down and still in need of clothes but hey ho!! chin up and all that.
But my debts are slowly coming down. New totals for start of may look like this:

I have got both boys off school today with poorly tummies.
We have all started to get sore throats and chesty coughs as well, really hoping it had nothing to do with being in a cold caravan with only a gas fire for heating.
Meal plan done for the week, and i did tonights tea last night thinking i was gonna be at work. Oh well, less for me to do later.
Still managing without a dryer, only just though. Been hard this weekend as had all the clothes to do from our hols and the weather is naff!!! Getting on top of it slowly though. Gonna put my meter readings in later and see if its made any more of a difference. I have also started turning the thermostat right down during the day when we are all out, little things and all that.
Need to have a nosey round the boards i think, get some motivation going (and new ideas)

Forgot to say, me and the kids are gonna be growing our own this year. And doing it cheaply too as my mum planted loads of seeds in her greenhouse as last year her crop didnt do so well, this year they have though so getting the seedlings from her for free!! Just going to get some grow bags as cheaper than pots and compost. So will be growing tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and peppers!
I still want to build up a bit of soil we have in the front garden to be a bit of a veg plot but will have to wait. If we can grow stuff this year, the hubby might be more on board. I have managed to kill stuff or not had a good outcome so far.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

The weather is gorgeous up here today!!!! and im at work
Put all the bedding in the wash this morning so will hang it out on the line when i get home! Still cant find anything that beats the smell of washing dried outside. Had a load out yesterday and i ACTUALLY IRONED them when i brought them in. Suprised it hasnt snowed today:rotfl:
Planning on attacking the garden sometime soon, it really needs doing. The kids think dandelions are pretty flowers as thats all i have and the grass is so long the kids could hide in it!! And still need to sort the front bit of soil out too.
My list of things that need doing in the house/garden is growing, but money is not! The outside of the house being painted is up there at the top, not been done since we moved in and its a horrible yellow/mustard colour thats fading. yuk!! I think i will have to divide the extra money i put to the debt fund and house fund a bit better so i can start to tick things off my list and still pay debts off.December 2018: £20,850.24. Hi ragstoricheswannabe,

Well done and i have subscribed so i can continue to nosy haha0 -
Welcome along bigdog!! more the merrier! (and more to give a kick up the jacksy when needed)
Been going through the recipes on the old style board and got a few more ideas. Meal plan will be mostly them next week to cut down on the food bill. No matter how hard i try it never seems to go down! Me and the hubby are trying to be healthy and the kids love fruit other than apples and pears so i guess thats put the bill up a bit. Keep trying to grow our own strawberries but never seem to get a good enough crop.
Gonna try and get more soups in the plan as can do them easy and bulk out with some homemade bread. Have a soda bread recipe for me, just need to find a good soft bun/bap recipe for the kids. Hopefully then i can go back to not buying bread as kids love their butties in a bun.

Hello!!!
On the way to work this morning my car started making a funny noise! Typical when i have no money. Think it was something to do with the heaters so i turned them off and turned the radio up!! Problem solved :rotfl:
Got back into the kitchen last night and made some floorboard for the hubby (he can stop buying it at the garage now!), strawberry and blueberry muffins for the kids boxes and some soup for my lunch today.
I also baked some garlic tortillas so now have have my own tortilla chips to munch when i need something crunchy and savory. Tried to eat the garlic tortilla without baking it but found it was a bit strong so at least its a good way to not waste food!! They are yummy with hummous!!! nomnom!
Not much else going on moneywise, if all goes to plan i should still have at least £350 in the account before the mortgage comes out. Need to do the budget for next month. Me and the hubby have talked about reigning the spending in as getting out of hand again. Little bits here and there add up quickly!
Hopefully next month i will be under £23k too (fingers crossed)December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Another nice day here, washing out on the line before work so should be dry and smelling nice for when i get home. Only downside is having to iron it but hey ho, small price to pay. Glad im at work to be honest as i have no summer clothes that fit. I got rid of all my bigger sized ones last year and was a stone lighter last year thanks to the wedding so all that i bought last year is too small.
By the time i slim into them our summer will be over (only lasts for a week here :rotfl:)
Have had 2 veggie meals this week and the hubby hasnt complained! The nice weather helps as perfect for stir frys and jacket pototoes. Its hot dogs tonight so kids will be happy, and the hubby gets a little bit of meat.
Nothing much money wise, just waiting on the council tax and insurances to go out this week or next then done for this month. Then its time to start it all again!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
