  • Pinch and a punch, its the first of the month!!!!

Mortgage has come out today, as well as other little bits like the water, life ins etc. They used to come out at the end of the month but recently seem to be coming out at the start.

Have transferred the pennies left in the account to make it a round pound number. Not much but keep reading on here how it all adds up. Have transferred it into the debt fund, 1. so i can have access to it if needed and 2. i can see how it builds up.

Payday this week so budget all done and ready. The hubby has 5 paydays this month which is helpful as can put some money away for the holiday in sept incase i cant put as much away next month as will have childcare to pay for next month.

Hopefully if all goes to plan, i should have the halifax cc paid off this year so can work on the barclay card next year. Then it will be on to the loan, which we will take chunks off onto a 0% cc so we have smaller amounts to focus on, and reduce the amount of interest we pay too. All sounds good in principle, but have two cars to mot this month and next so all fingers and toes crossed!!

Need to try and get some more income in, but i really cant face eb4y. Plus with my working hours i cant get to the post office during the week, and even when you state that fact on the listings, people still message you after a day wanting to know where the item is. Not sure my clothes are worth much so may just cash them in one of those ££ per bag shops. Ds2 will be growing into the next age range soon, so will sell his tops and decent trousers. Has bags full of hand me downs from ds1 waiting so hopefully will only need to get him some new undies etc.
Need to get my thinking cap on.

Food plan this week is using up the last bits from the bottom of the freezer.
Shepards pie tonight, with enough mince left over for one for the freezer. I didnt have any lentils in the house so bulked the mince out with oats?! Read on here it works so bunged them in. Have to say it thickened the mince up nicely.
Have added another £50 to the food budget this month to get some more meat and freezer bits in. Trying to convince the hubby to try f4rmf00ds this time instead of 1cel4nd. It means an half hour drive which, as he argues, cuts the savings made, but we could incorporate it into a day out??

Enough waffling from me, time to get on with some work. :rotfl:

  • The hubby has agreed to try f4rmf00ds :j and the mince last night was delish!! Kids didnt even notice i had bulked it out with oats and even ds2 ate it all and usually he leaves the mince. Oats are the way forward!:rotfl:

89p transferred to the debt fund this morning.

Not much else to report really.

  • 3p transfered to debt fund today. Really is a case of every little helps :rotfl:

Hubby has upgraded his phone and managed to knock £18 off his monthly bill! :A Will be selling his as still in good nic after having a cover on it since new.

Halifax cc has come out today, the hubby is gonna ring and change the direct debit amount so that more goes out a month. I budget the £180 a month for it, but it tends to get squandered into the black hole. If it comes out, then its done. Thinking bout upping the monthly amount to the loan so its a nice round figure. That way all 3 debts are being overpaid a little. Will have a think. Kinda like seeing it add up in the debt fund, but hate then seeing it at £0 when its paid a debt off.

Hi Rags! You are still going great guns!!! Every penny definitely makes a difference.

Just a thought about your DF fund and paying more off your debts... could you not take small chunks out of the DF fund to round your overal debt down? eg, Now you could transfer £105.55 out to bring your total to £23600.00. That way you have nice neat figures... and you still have money in your DF fund. Just thinking outloud!! :O)

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!
  • I may well start doing that nats, Its a good idea!

Well, filled the freezer this weekend, £116:eek: but the freezer is fit to burst. Got loads for our money and all the meat and fish is cook from frozen which is handy. Normal shopping came in at £52 this week so has knocked a bit off our weekly spend.

The loan payment has gone out but total not updated online yet. After next months payment has gone out, the loans total will be under £16k! :D

Car passed its mot but cost us £280 though. That has gone on to the halifax cc. Will be overpaying that this month.

Seem to have stalled a little in the debt paying bit, life just keeps getting in the way!

Rags, life is just like a little hill in your route (to DF-ness!) When you look at a map, it all appears flat... but it definitely is not!!! You will get there... I am starting to think of mine as the whole 'Tour De France' route... some parts are fast... those, definitely a lot slower... mainly to do with those pesky hills!! lol

  • I am £162 away from the loan being under £16k. I know i am supposed to be paying off the halifax cc first but its oh so tempting to put it to the loan instead...............
