It`s such a beautiful day today and I have already done several rows of knitting as well as get lunch, our main meal, prepared. It was a bit of a `lumpy` stew so I have had it in the processor for a few seconds, added an oxo cube and put a pastry top on it. Should go down well with assorted fresh veg

The tops of my little bargain greenhouses are looking green and have discoloured in the uv light. I remember buying them 4 years ago and so cheap from lakeland. I coated the wood with preservative last year and new greenhouse polycarbonate came via ebay so I`ll cut, tape and change the tops today. That`ll give them a new lease of life at a cost of £2 each

Dh took some good but large books to cs yesterday and we have several more trips to make on the bus, I am very excited thinking about the space clearing but always remembering, a step at a time

I love having positive things to aim for :)

Broad beans are sprouting and lettuces all popped up so are being hardened off. You just cannot hold nature back. Chilli seeds in a few days now, followed by tomatoes in a few weeks and the cycle begins

    Hi everyone,

Managed to finish the other side edging on my crocheted scarf, so that now needs handwashing ready to wear later in the week ;)

I have subscribed to a newly published crochet magazine, so spent last night trying out a few of their smaller patterns. Not overly impressed as one is clearly misprinted, but I will persevere :p

Start of a new term for the youth club I run tonight. Looking forward to seeing the children again. Feels good to give something back to the community (sorry if that sounds smug, I don't mean it to :o) as the kids and parents really appreciate it.

Oh and picked up a tshirt and a nice chunky jumper for DS2 in the M&$ sale today whoohoo!

Hope you're all having a good day :D

    Debt-free and Proud!
Feeling REALLY positive today as Hubby has finally seen the light and believe my debt-free-by-June will work. He's even cancelled SKy Movies and Sports today saving us around £30 a month.

I saw a knitting/crochet mag advertised on tv for 99p, have any of you bought it and do you know if it would be any good for a complete novice like me? Really want to start but haven't a clue where to. It's one of those you collect each fortnight/month and get free bits then the price goes up after a couple of issues.

Hoping for a good outcome for your daughter as a result of todays interviews JackieO.

Spent hours at the cancer centre today (not there for myself) and was astounded at the positivity of the long- term cancer patients. Really puts things into perspective.

ooo I second that Jackieo, not easy every single day but it`s important to find one positive thing a day at least. That hemming for example, that would have been a big positive and your hismissus, your dh fantastic wow, maybe time for a chart on the side of the fridge. Lol like a star chart

re knitting, yes mags are good but you tube is even better and free

I knit differently but there are lots of methods. That video looks easy to follow. Have a look in cs for needles and wool. There are also knitting groups all over the place, I might join one because it would get me out of the house and meeting new people. No-one experienced would turn away from getting a beginner started

put your area of the country in and see what pops up

I knit virtually every day and also go to a knitting group run by our local library once a fortnight and we have had lots of 'newbies' joining us and we welcome them as the library system is doing its utmost to keep the places open Our library also runs a book club Its only a small library but it brings local folk together and if its used as a community centre as well as a library then hopefully it won't be closed down

Yesterday I read my daily affirmation (wrong day) along the lines of Treat your mind with the same respect as you would your body. I decided to hunt out my meditation cd (not used very often as I'm not very good at it). Unfortunately I put it on and fell asleep for half an hour but woke up totally refreshed and very positive so I will try this again. X btc

    Morning my Positive Peeps! :D

I've been listening to the audiobook of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen over the last few days (marvelous book BTW). Couldn't sleep last night so decided to plug-in to my iPod and finish off the last chapter. Four times in a row I got to within 5 minutes of the end and fell asleep! Despite me being desperate to know how it all worked out for the two main characters! After repeated rewinds I finally got there. :D

Highly recommended book, bit of something for everyone - Middle East conflict, political skulduggery, hilarious pseudo-terrorism, a poke at spin doctors and a love story thrown in.

Yesterday I bought a Kelly Holmes kettle ball in the Tesco sale. I've been looking for some simple upper body toning/strengthening exercises that I can do at home without too much jumping around (it disturbs my landlord as he tries to watch TV in the lounge directly under my room). There are some simple exercises included in the box and you are supposed to be able to remove some of the layers to vary the weight but there's no instructions for that. Will need to google it later.

    Have a great Thursday everyone!

I need to.get back in the positive groove, Peeps, after a grotty day hitting rock bottom (largely linked to my medical condition). I really need to make time to sit down and finish my life plan, then pin it up to focus on it.

    I hope you'll all have a great day! :-)
