Positive Thinking for 2013

I absolutely agree wholeheartedly with that and what happens is that the good energy comes back to you so continuing the good cycle. You can also visualise a bubble of white light around yourself, a bubble that can repel negativity away from you, like a hidden shield which keeps you safe from negative vibes
I like that exercise.:) I also like the one where you stand up and close your eyes and imagine all your negative emotions and energies are draining away from your body and into the ground. It's good if you do it barefoot in the garden or something.0 -

I ordered a book called "Start your day with Katie" 365 affirmations for a year of positive thinking. My favourite so far is Jan 2 quote- Life is 10 per cent what happens to you and 90 per cent how you react to it. It is so thought provoking.
Sending you all positive vibes x btc
I gave this book to my friend as part of her Xmas present. She had a really rough year in 2012 so I thought it would be a good tool for her to think positively.
JackieO - sending lots of positive vibes to your DD with finding a job.
Last night I took out a scarf I had crocheted last year and decided it needed to have edging. Managed to complete one side last night thanks to an on-line tutorial. Will do the second side later on
Have today researched knitting groups in my town and there's one on a Friday morning. Might go along this week to check it out (I don't knit but figured I could do crochet instead)
Going to look online later at weekend breaks. Have decided that we should get away more as a family.
Hope everyone is having a positive day

I think it's great to be able to look forward to things.
I've got a big holiday booked for September, we will be away for over three weeks. I've never been away from home for so long before and I'm really looking forward to it. Although, I'll probably be  in the weeks before hand, doing all the preparation!
In the meantime, we are making sure we have a few nice things to do. We've got a trip to London in March to see A Chorus Line at the Palladium. Yesterday we booked to see a show in May at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. Just nice days out to keep us positive.
Also, seeing a friend for a coffee later, so looking forward to that as wellEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I have printed out all the notes i have written so far so i can go through them and sort them out properly. I have also been on my exercise bike five times last week, listening to an audiobook while i have been doing it, listening to podcasts as i walk to and from work, and seeing the small positives in every day.
I hope everyone else is still feeling positive0 -
Positive start to the week for me.:D
Went swimming after work last night using my awesome new waterproof MP3 player - an Xmas gift from OH. Swimming is my exercise of choice as I don't do getting hot, sweaty and pink in the face (at least in public anyway). I loaded up a playlist at the weekend and tried it out on dry land as the earphones are quite fiddly and you need to have them in before you get in the water. The device itself straps onto your goggles and I used my swimming cap to make sure the earphones stayed in. It took a bit more fiddling around once I was in to get the volume right and I'm sure people were wondering what that contraption was on my head (it's quite small & discreet actually) but as they strangers who I'll never see again who cares? But it was awesome - I swam for longer than I would normally because it stopped me from getting bored and with each new track I was thinking "ooh I'll just listen to this one before I get out!"
Treated myself to a Maccos on the way home too!
AND today I finally shifted the big bag of lego that's been lying around the house for months by selling it to a work colleague. DS can now go out and buy the footy shirt he's been hankering after!£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

Hello all!
It's not often I wander into the OS forum these days, much more focussed on DFW and I get lost when I follow so many threads but I like the positivity of this one
I'm feeling very positive about 2013. This is the year I'll become debt free for the first time in 10 years. I turn 40 in June which I'm looking forward to - partly because I intend to be debt free by then, partly because it's a jolly food excuse for a big party and partly because we've booked ourselves a posh cruise (well posh for us) in Sept as Hubby also turns 40 this summer.
I signed up to a facebook idea that was doing the rounds where you do something creative for 5 people and they agree to do the same etc. Was surprised a lot of my friends didn't seem into it as they didn't want to return the offer to their friendsbut my mind is buzzing with things I can do for the first 5 who liked my post.
Also want to learn to crochet this year as I've seen something amazing I want to make my bessie for Christmas.
I will also lose inches (more so than focussing on losing weight) and be more active instead of slobbing on the sofa every evening. I've set up a craft table in the spare room to encourage me to craft more as it's such a faff setting everything up/putting it all away each time.
I also want to end 2013 with savings in the bank - saving - what's that?
First job on my list though is to declutter my wardrobe!0 -
I have 10 strawberry plants which lived in a grow bag on a table top, they are now two years old and will be in their prime. It is a very cheap and effective way of growing strawberries but they can be severely damaged by prolonged heavy frost, which is coming in 9 days. Today I dug them out, halved the roots and just bedded them in a couple of troughs, I could have used anything. They are now movable and I will be able to put them somewhere more protected if/when the cold strikes. I will replant in new growbags next spring. So another positive job done
Spinning is going so amazingly and last night I sat here and created a long length of thin and even yarn from a couple of handfuls of combed fleece, so that is IT and I have ordered a spinning wheel.I`ll get the money back on just a few garments( made from wool/silk/alpaca etc) as I am a pretty good knitter. I must say that I feel energised doing this and very excited. I have already asked dh about going to wonderwool next april

and he is ready willing and able
Sometime this week, I`ll start re-arranging a small room into a crafting room and I`ll be putting my sewing machine and overlocker handy and easy to use. It`s brilliant having this stuff to do over winter because spring and summer are taken up with growing and autumn with preserving. I normally hibernate over winter
Hismissus, inspiring. Very well done on being debt free this year. It can`t have been easy and give yourself a big and well deserved pat on the back0 -

I haven't quite made it yet Kittie but with all the challenges I've signed up to and the fact I seem to have grasped budgetting and meal planning at last, I hope to be debt free by June 1st:)0 -
Lilmiskitkat, so sorry to read about your son being ill and fitting. Hope things soon settle down for you both xGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

what terrific efforts you are all making I am so impressed with you all.
I so far have had a darned good chuck out of stuff thats accumulated and as my builder is here he's offered to take some more junk to the tip for me At the moment all I have in the bathroom is the radiator and the loo as he took the bath and washhand basin out today (I'm having a shower to replace it as bathing is getting decidedly more difficult for me on my wobbly joints)I took youngest DD to Maidstone today for a break and to cheer her up after getting made redundant last week, she has two interviews tomorrow so fingers crossed for her.Lots of positive vibes for you all I wish we had a pat on the back thingy on here as I think you are all blooming amazing
Well done chums we will be more positive and cheerful in 2013 and kick the blues out of the window:)
