    Right lovely gang.
    The thing is this.
It is not a good idea to weigh yourself every day :naughty::naughty:
So stop doing it & stop beating yourself up.

Couldn't agree more beanie. We threw away or scales (in disgust pre-SW) and I've deliberately avoided replacing them.

I just don't believe it. Nothing lost at all. I am sure I'm still eating too much.
    Yesterday I had
2 boiled eggs 1 slice toast and spread b. Satsuma. 1/2 A was milk in brews all day.
yoghurt for a snack and an apple
H/m soup lentil and split pea. Jacket spud 15 gms cheese 1/2 A. Coffee banana.
baked bean and cheese 38gm A. Mashed potato processed peas satsuma
x 2 coffee 2 rice cakes with spread 4 syns
I am not getting despondent I will keep trying but don't seem to be making much headway Help.

That looks like a good green menu to me although I'm not an expert. So glad you're not despondent, hopefully a good loss next week. That can happen.

ETA I assumed it was a green menu. stef's right if it's EE and you can never get too many SFs whichever plan you're doing.

lush, I've seen the basic mini-waffles as 1 syn on the site but I've no idea which brand they could be. The Lild ones quoted are:

Lidl, Belbake Egg Waffles, 12 pack, 21g each

    They're 5 syns each:eek:.

BCS, thanks for posting your meals really enjoyed looking at the pics. One tip I use is to keep some LO potatoes and fry them with brunch. Then I can keep my HEB for something else.

Looking at your menu there wouldnt be enough SF in your soup to make up your 1/3 also your evening meal doesnt have enough SF as processed peas are only a free food. So 2 satsumas, an apple and a banana would not equate to 1/3rd SF even if balanced out over the day. Usually 2 satsumas would make 1 serving. Did you syn the 38gm of cheese used? Are you measuring out the correct quantity of milk? Is the bread the correct one for SW healthy b section?
Actually Stef I was doing a green day, I thought SF weren't as important as they are on E E days. Let me know if I'm wrong cause' I'm going wrong some where and It's costing a fortune.

Just looking in the old Food optimising book that you take to group to have your weight recorded and it states on the Green choice page. Remember, for the best results fill 1/3rd of your plate with SF's . So it looks like it is across all 3 plans as it also says the same on the Red page too. We are also advised in group no matter which plan we follow the 1/3rd superfree is imperative to maximise weight loss and at a steady rate.

I lost a total of 10 stone 13 pounds, going from 27 stone 7 pounds to 16 stone 8 pounds.
Watchitm80 Junior lost a total of 2 stone 6½ pounds, going from 14 stone 5 pounds to 11 stone 12½ pounds. He's struggling big-time at the moment, and at an age where he won't be told!
Mrs Watchitm80 is the real star in the family. She has lost (in 51 weeks) a total of 3 stone 11 pounds, going from 13 stone 12 pounds to 10 stone 1 pound - and she looks good with it!
Absolutely fantastic, well done to your whole family :j (My friends DH lost 10 stone as well so I can imagine the difference this has made to your quality of life :D
They're mini toaster waffles - I buy them from Lidl and it's about 55/59p for 12. I find two with a banana or something like that very filling :) and on the app there are just 1syn each

Ooohhh I must look out for them, they sound lovely and very low in sysns

    Hi all,

    3) I was told by a friend that anything that you are able to have E.g. 1x Weetabix & 1x Bread or 1x Alpen & 1x Weetabix (essentially, anything you can split into half and still have one whole). The book does mention 1x Weetabix & 1x Hi-fi, but does anyone know if the ones I have listed are ok or if she was telling me porky-pies?! :)
    4) Syns: It states 5-15 syns per day, so do you HAVE to use a min of 5 syns? OR if not, can you accumulate them (E.g. For use at the weekend?!) or is it ‘use it, or lose it’?

I personally tend to use all of my B every day but will perhaps split the A ie 375ml skimmed milk divided by 5 - 150ml for couple coffees which would leave me 3 Laughing Cow lights for ryvitas (b) as a snack at night. I am not saying I do this everyday but I do it & it hasn't affected my weight loss.

With syns, I don't use them all every day, what I tend to to is plan for my wine at the weekend (2 x 27 syns bottles wine) then divide the weekly remainder by 7 ie 51 left over leaving around 7 syns per day but I make up a snack box with the remaining syns ie 4 bags french fries (18 syns) rest made up of, choccy things ie curly wurlies, freddos, rocky bars, kits kats, (all generally between 4-6 syns).

If I use syns on gravy or mayo or sauce etc, then I just remove something from the treat box. (It was someone on the old thread who suggested making one up and it works for me) my DH will ask me if i want anything out MY box at night whilst watching TV) :rotfl:Some days I only use 1 or 2 syns and it works for me, it may not work for others, its just a matter of trying & testing.

    Todays EE Menu

    B - 1/2 Melon with berries & Nat Yoghurt
L - Warmed WM Pitta (b) with 1/2 tin salmon mixed with tbsp tomato sauce (1 syn), salad, melon, grapes, satsuma
D - Remainder of SW Speedy Chicken & Veg fried rice with side of cauliflower & 2 low low cheese slices (a)
S - Banana with toffee muller

Green tea all day with 1 coffee (1/2 syn)

I totally agree, much as I would love to, I resist temptation & look forward to my WI on a Wednesday, whether it be a loss or gain, the feeling of not knowing keeps me going!

  • Thought I'd do my first day counting properly...

Breakfast: Porridge (HEB, made with water) with 1 tsp golden syrup (1 syn) and banana. Black coffee.
    Snack: Apple
Lunch: Small serving of sushi (1 syn) with a side salad
Snack: Clementine if needed - sushi tends to keep me pretty full!
Dinner: Chicken jalfrezzi (3 syns) with brown rice and spinach
Snack: Small glass chocolate Oatley (HEA)

Undecided whether to use my treat syns (allow around 5 in my vague counting, seems to work) for pudding or a small piece of naan bread. We'll see!

My local group is tomorrow, which is also my wedding anniversary. So I think it's another week on my own!

KFC for tea rather than cottage pie. Quite happy about it actually, the cottage pie would be about 10syn and the bits of the KFC I eat about half that! plus we haven't had KFC in a while and it will be nice not to cook haha :)

What bits of KFC can you eat for 5 syns?

  • Hi all,

4 1/2 lb loss for my first week back.

Last week had its ups and downs so I am really pleased with my loss.

I am planning meals and hope to lose 21/2 to 3lb next week.

I need to watch out for cravings for wine and take out and try and plan to include those things in so I don't fall off the SW wagon.

Good luck in your losses everyone and for the next week :)
