Good evening guys, hope your all well.
I started doing extra easy today although i'm just doing it by myself at home as my mum gave me all her books.
Brunch (got up too late for breakfast) - 2 slices grilled bacon, 1 slice white toast (didn't have any wholemeal bread
), 1 poached egg & 1/2 tin beans. I've counted 4.5 syns for the toast & will add mushrooms & tomatoes instead of the beans next time too.
Dinner - 3 loin pork chops, boiled spuds, cabbage, carrots & gravy (forgot the peas). I've counted 2.5 syns for the gravy.
Due to the snow i'd not been able to get to tesco's to buy the stuff I needed to start today. I've now been shopping today & bought loads of fruit/veg and some wholemeal bread so will be able to do it properly now. :AI'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

great loss beanielou
Forgot to rant about the snow earlier - the only thing it has been good for is my body magic! Bf's wheelchair doesn't do snow, he gets too cold (if he can feel his feet it's a bad sign!) and i have to cleat the ramp, path to the car and clean all the now off the car! Plus the car boot has given up so I've been having to take his chair apart and put it in the backseat instead!
Hopefully the boot will get fixed at the dealership tomorrow!
rough plan for tomorrow:
pre-shops: two toasted mini waffles (2syn) with a banana spread on
snack: 2 satsumas
lunch: ham sandwiches (2 wholemeal rolls =2 HeB)
snack: satsumas and banana
tea: cottage pie ends up around 8syn I think cos of the type of mince but that should be ok
HeA: milk to drink
Total syns: 10************************************

Cracking losses Beanie, Lush, RFD
Banjo Bear when you think you have been spot on all week and your scales show a gain it's heart breaking. It sent me to the comfort eattinf couch too many times.
Only one set of scales matter: the scales used for WI once a week. Others are jealous that that set gets the attention and will happily throw you a curve ball. Weight fluctuates around 3lb a day as well so your really nit doing your stress levels any favours:)Hi all,
I'm new to SW so wondering if any of you lovely people could help me with a few queries. I’m currently doing the EE plan, so the following questions apply to that:
1) Would extra lean pork mince (<5% fat) be free? The food optimising book only mentions <8% which has a syn value, but all other extra lean meats are free.
2) Meat - fat removed, is that before or after cooking? E.g. If someone else grills bacon, will it still be free if I remove the fat before eating or should I assign a syn value?
3) I was told by a friend that anything that you are able to have E.g. 1x Weetabix & 1x Bread or 1x Alpen & 1x Weetabix (essentially, anything you can split into half and still have one whole). The book does mention 1x Weetabix & 1x Hi-fi, but does anyone know if the ones I have listed are ok or if she was telling me porky-pies?!
4) Syns: It states 5-15 syns per day, so do you HAVE to use a min of 5 syns? OR if not, can you accumulate them (E.g. For use at the weekend?!) or is it ‘use it, or lose it’? (I have a party on Sat and while I’m happy that I can make healthy food choices (or even eat before I go out), I know I will definitely be drinking more than 15syns worth of alcohol!).
I wanted to ask my consultant last week but she was very busy with more new members.
Thanks in advance xx
Personal experience speaking here, USE at least 5 syns a day. If not you risk a fantastic result week on week at the scales :T AND your body switching off all non emergency systems:eek: and that is NOT fun!
ANY meat - extra lean is considered free, so your pork is fine.
FAT MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE COOKING.. or it stews in the fat... and soaks in.
I often have 1 weetabix, and 3 Rivita/ scan bran for my Healthy Extra.
If you have a look on the website Food Diary (presuming you were given a pin to access this online.) You will see a big list of what you might be able to mix and match.
I suspect you would be told by your consultant to stick to the list in the book.
Party on Saturday. Your consultant will tell you to either: Have a look through the syn values of drinks, go with an idea of what you will drink and stay in control of your consumption.. mix your drinks alcohol then diet, then alcohol.OR flexi-syn it: Stay on plan all the way up to it.. and the minute you get back from it. Don't throw the day/week out because of it.
No consultant will tell you to "store up" your syns. Why? It'll show in the morning on the scales - and if you are like many of us that can't stay away from the scales you will see that gain and get frustrated at going backward.
No seriously Because it promotes binge eating/drinking. SW is about control, taking control and staying there. (A lot of people DO store up or approach syns from a weekly tally rather than a daily one. )
Breast Cancer Survivor.Considering you don't have much in... those plates look fairly well balanced to start you off.

The year is up in the Watchitm80 household. My son and I started our campaign on 19th January 2012, whilst Mrs Watchitm80 started a week later on the 26th January. So, after 52 weeks of dieting here are the year's results on 17th January 2013.
I lost a total of 10 stone 13 pounds, going from 27 stone 7 pounds to 16 stone 8 pounds.
Watchitm80 Junior lost a total of 2 stone 6½ pounds, going from 14 stone 5 pounds to 11 stone 12½ pounds. He's struggling big-time at the moment, and at an age where he won't be told!
Mrs Watchitm80 is the real star in the family. She has lost (in 51 weeks) a total of 3 stone 11 pounds, going from 13 stone 12 pounds to 10 stone 1 pound - and she looks good with it!It's BARGAIN, BARGAIN, got it? Bargin my ****.0 -

They're mini toaster waffles - I buy them from Lidl and it's about 55/59p for 12. I find two with a banana or something like that very fillingand on the app there are just 1syn each
And the berry bakewell HiFi bars are delicious!
watchitm80 you must all be very happy and very proud!
I'm waiting to see if my new snow boots arrive before I have to head out in to town to pick up a few bits of shopping. Although, annoyed that the town market has been cancelled for today! Walking in the snow has got to be some decent body magic :rotfl:
ETA:
Change of plans for today - KFC for tea rather than cottage pie. Quite happy about it actually, the cottage pie would be about 10syn and the bits of the KFC I eat about half that! plus we haven't had KFC in a while and it will be nice not to cook haha************************************

I keep thinking about my 5lb loss last night and wondering why i got more of a loss than the first time i started SW (got 4.5lb ) .
When i first joined SW last year i was cycling to work on a regular basis so you'd think that would spark a greater loss? Whereas this time i have not done a stitch of exercise (bar walking to the tram stop there & back).
I am trying to think back last year - i know i was drinking diet pop a lot and was still in "counting calories" mode from years of WW/counting calories. This year i have been drinking fizzy water (the stuff that is 4 cals for 250ml or something ) and i am not calorie counting/or using MFP either.
Is the fizzy water pretty much the same as diet pop? or better because its carbonated water and not much else?
The last week i have just followed the plan and not thought about the calories in pasta/rice or potatoes. Just musing really as i was genuinely stunned last night when i got on the scales..:o
