  • They're mini toaster waffles - I buy them from Lidl and it's about 55/59p for 12. I find two with a banana or something like that very filling :) and on the app there are just 1syn each

    Thanks Lush..:D

I keep thinking about my 5lb loss last night and wondering why i got more of a loss than the first time i started SW (got 4.5lb ) .

When i first joined SW last year i was cycling to work on a regular basis so you'd think that would spark a greater loss? Whereas this time i have not done a stitch of exercise (bar walking to the tram stop there & back) :o .

I am trying to think back last year - i know i was drinking diet pop a lot and was still in "counting calories" mode from years of WW/counting calories. This year i have been drinking fizzy water (the stuff that is 4 cals for 250ml or something ) and i am not calorie counting/or using MFP either.

Is the fizzy water pretty much the same as diet pop? or better because its carbonated water and not much else?

The last week i have just followed the plan and not thought about the calories in pasta/rice or potatoes. Just musing really as i was genuinely stunned last night when i got on the scales..:o

I would say that fizzy water is a lot better than diet drinks, diet drinks are full of sweetener and loads of other crap, I am trying really hard to cut down on diet coke because I know how bad it is.
I remember when I lost 5lbs one week, it was the week that I had been out drinking most nights, clearly vodka is the way to go :rotfl:.

I haven't been to weigh in today because I have an ill child but going by my scales it looks like a 1lb gain, I have been 100% this week and exercised my backside off - including level 2 of 30 day shred last night . Not sure if it is the extra exercise or the medication that is doing it but i'm hoping things will sort themselves out, luckily I have my head well and truely back into slimming world so I am not tempted to sulk and go off plan :rotfl:.

Have a good day everyone :)

Are you sure you have got the right syn value? :o

I have read somewhere they are 4syns each

I had to have a look as 1syn sounds too good to be true!

I asked my consultant as I thought it was too good to be true as she said she that it was right. It comes under 'basics, waffles, baked/grilled (1mini) 1syn'.

They are small ones, baked then you just toast them to crisp them up a bit :) it's the toppings that can add syns

The only thing i have been told about diet alternatives is to watch out for aspartame. Not just because it is known to cause issues with ongoing illnesses but it also triggers the hunger pangs we get which trick the mind into wanting those sugary naughty snacks beyond what would normally suffice using syns, so you are on a continual battle with hunger while intaking some form of aspartame.

Thats interesting.. didnt realise it was a hunger trigger. Is it in carbonated water as well then? Or just mainly diet drinks?

You would need to read the ingredients of the item before hand but it is not limited to just drinks its in quite a lot of food stuffs related to dieting. There's a link here explaining more.

Looking at your menu there wouldnt be enough SF in your soup to make up your 1/3 also your evening meal doesnt have enough SF as processed peas are only a free food. So 2 satsumas, an apple and a banana would not equate to 1/3rd SF even if balanced out over the day. Usually 2 satsumas would make 1 serving. Did you syn the 38gm of cheese used? Are you measuring out the correct quantity of milk? Is the bread the correct one for SW healthy b section?
