That's a great loss rainbow :T
Thank you guys for all your help, advice and encouragement :T
You are so right about the fluctuations re the scales. Yesterday, I initially registered a 2lb gain, then had a shower and weighed myself again to double check. And I was another 1lb heavier, so thought I must have soaked up water like a sponge LOL0 -
Hi all,
I'm new to SW so wondering if any of you lovely people could help me with a few queries. I’m currently doing the EE plan, so the following questions apply to that:
1) Would extra lean pork mince (<5% fat) be free? The food optimising book only mentions <8% which has a syn value, but all other extra lean meats are free.
2) Meat - fat removed, is that before or after cooking? E.g. If someone else grills bacon, will it still be free if I remove the fat before eating or should I assign a syn value?
3) I was told by a friend that anything that you are able to have E.g. 1x Weetabix & 1x Bread or 1x Alpen & 1x Weetabix (essentially, anything you can split into half and still have one whole). The book does mention 1x Weetabix & 1x Hi-fi, but does anyone know if the ones I have listed are ok or if she was telling me porky-pies?!
4) Syns: It states 5-15 syns per day, so do you HAVE to use a min of 5 syns? OR if not, can you accumulate them (E.g. For use at the weekend?!) or is it ‘use it, or lose it’? (I have a party on Sat and while I’m happy that I can make healthy food choices (or even eat before I go out), I know I will definitely be drinking more than 15syns worth of alcohol!).
I wanted to ask my consultant last week but she was very busy with more new members.
Thanks in advance xxKeep going, don't lose motivation!0 -

1) 5% minced beef is free on EE.
2)SW advocates removing all fat prior to cooking so as not to sabotage any potential weight loss.
3)In the early days you are best to stick to the proportions quoted via SW for your fibre intake. As you settle into the plan some of the members of this group have jiggled it about a bit so it works for them, for others it meerly slows weight loss down. So you would be best to find your feet first.
4) Syns, again your are advised to use a minimum of 5 a day - more to stave of cravings for something you would normally consider a 'naughty' whilst dieting. Again some of the long standing members do use their limit at weekends saving a few syns for during the week to allow use for things like cornflour or mayo's. Again this is something for you to discover once you have settled into the plan as you will then discover whether or not it suits you better to do it the proper SW way or by tweaking.
If you fear that a night out will ruin your progression the best advise would be to flexi syn the day and the following morning draw a line underneath it and restart the plan.
Hope this helps.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
