Well yesterday I willed for a leaflet to pop through the door and today... as if by magic it did :) The same offers that are on the site.

Bought some food today to make a cottage pie. This is a stupid question but if you add lots of vegetables to the cottage pie do they count as your superfree or must you eat the cottage pie with veg and your 1/3 superfree vegetables seperately?

Now I need to will a million pound jackpot prize :)
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Personally I count the added vegetables as my SF although there was a rumour a while ago that 'cooked down' veg doesn't count but I can't see why myself. I always add loads of onions, mushrooms and carrots (and sometimes a few leeks) to my cottage pie. To make doubly sure (IMO you can never have too many SFs;)) have some cabbage, broccoli or cauli on the side.

The answer to your question about superfrees isnt as clear cut as it should be. Different consultants will tell you differently. Looking at some of the recipes on the SW website the meals are always served with extra veg on the side but people on here who have lost lots will tell you this may be something that is personal to you and your weight loss. If the weight is coming off ok with just having it within the meal stick to that, if it starts to slow and stagnate up the superfrees and give it a kick up the backside.

For me today its a green day.
B, banana, 2 apricots, an apple.
L, huge salad, cucumber, pickled shallots, pickled beetroot, eggs, and 30g cheese (hea x1)
T, beans on toast (heb x1) mixed fruit salad.
    S. 2 hifi lights (heb x2) Hot choc (2syns) squirty cream (1.5syns) packet of mini moos (6syns)
    Hea x2 milk in coffee.

  • So, I'm ready to start tomoro.
Have been shopping today for food-wow what a healthy looking trolley! I also bought a new frying pan, super non stick, so no added fats required. (and we're chucking out the deep fat fryer :D)
I have also been through the fridge, freezers, and cupboards and chucked out the stuff that's no so good.
I think I'm getting my head round it now, thanks to you guys.

Happy new year to you all when it comes. I hope you have a wonderful time, whatever you choose to do.
Me? I'll be at home, snuggled up with DH and we will probably be asleep way before the bells chime.
    Cheers to you

If I'm making a chilli /curry then I will also add peppers/cherry toms/carrots etc. I don't measure or weigh, I just chuck it in. Mainly to use up whats in my fridge than to satisfy the superfree quota. Its rare for me to then serve extra superfree veg on top but thats just me and more because I'm not very organised.

I do think however that its intended we should be eating one third of the plate superfree on top of whatever superfree might be in the curry/hotpot/chilli we might be eating but I think different things work for different people. It has been discussed before at class that one might not want superfree with your meal for example if eating ham egg and sw chips so the suggestion has been to eat some melon or superfree soup first.

I'm a red/green girl at heart and I will need to give some thought as to what plan I decide to follow as I have never got on with extra easy in the past.

I do remember a few years back now (before extra easy was introduced) making the sw beef curry but serving it with sw chips. It felt like a real treat and I don't remember worrying too much about the syns. funny now with extra easy in play that actually my meal wasn't all that bad !

Sharalee you can use frylite or the equivalent low fat sprays - usually around 1cal per spray as these are free to use when frying/cooking/roasting and it is recommended for making slimming world chips.

As for new year im impatiently sitting here waiting for my daughter to finish work, supposed to be an 11pm finish so she wants picking up, racing home which is 8.5 miles away so she can get glammed up and out on the town! Just as im crawling in to bed :o
