I haven't joined slimming world....i was going to sign up online but borrowed the books off a friend and they seem to be helping! I put on weight this year and was avoiding the scales like the plague....I forced myself to weigh in and was shocked to say the least.
I have been following red and green days since the beginning of november on my own and have lost 17lb! I would ideally like to lose another stone and have slowed down loss wise but it really does work.....xmas gone i am trying to keep on track now!

How old are the books that you are using? I only ask this as if they are a few years old then allowed amounts will have altered. Also are you having anything as syns?

  • What is going to hurt though is going back to my group so many months later and see how well everyone has done. That will hurt :( I'll be pleased for them but gutted that circumstances took me off this path.

The only thing I'm hesitating on is that the group I was part of was in the evening. And I found myself doing silly things like not drinking the afternoon before a weigh in. I know unbelievably silly but I'm being honest :( But I dont think the timings of the daytime class will work for my diary either.

For those of you who attend evening groups do you eat and drink normally before group? I feel so ashamed asking about this. But just wondered if some of you take eg a last big cup of tea say an hour before.

I'm getting emotional at just the thought of achieving this big deal for me. I'm sick to the back teeth of being judged on how I look and more importantly not being able to wear nicer clothes.

Two things stand out in your post. 1. Don't assume that everyone that was there when you were will still be there :D
    2. Don't starve yourself on wi days. Just be sure to do the same thing every week. Like beanie and stef says ;0

Post on HUKD also states that there will be a free membership voucher in woman magazine on the 8th Jan for those who dont buy the mirror newspaper.

Thanks :) That's a good point. Not that I wish anyone failure, in a way I know that if I see one of the ladies who was as big as me that will probably spur me on. I just have to accept that I bit a very big bump and that was then, this is now. It is a lovely group and the consultant's photo appears on their website as a weight loss success story. :)

Thanks shellie :) I need to put in place a clear routine don't I for weigh in day. My lunches don't have any routine at the moment. So that's something I must sort. Thank you.

I'm so glad I found this thread. Everyone is so supportive. :A

Under special offers on the SW site there's a bit of a garbled message of offers. I think its free membership if you buy the countdown (12 week package).
And half price membership £5 if you pay weekly.

I need to will one of their flyers through my front door :j

Thats a promotion they are running at the moment but when the Woman magazine or Mirror newspaper vouchers are released they will replace it. Later on it will be existing members introducing new members can get a free week. There's always one promo or another running.

  • Is there a SW consultant on here that could help me with this question that I posed before.

I would like to know what happens if you are in the middle of a 12 week countdown course and reach target? Would your remaining weeks that have been pre-paid still be taken from you even though you are in target?

    Thanks in advance.
It's BARGAIN, BARGAIN, got it? Bargin my ****.
  • Right, have done a lot of reading in the last few hours.
To me, the way it seems, to keep things easy, eat plenty of the free foods, use HEA and HEB (if needed) and 5-15 syns a day- and the weight should start coming off?
Is it as simple as it seems or am I missing something?
