Oh dear. I feel for your daughter. Its bad enough having to go through it now but at 18.. What exactly are her symptoms? are they similar to mine? If so i really recommend the agnus castus - i wasnt expecting it to work at all and was gobsmacked when i noticed a difference straight away. It sounds though she is like me - i think i just dont suit synthetic hormones.

Useful website to look through as it has tips on how diet influences monthly cycle (i cut out caffeine - i now drink only decaff tea & coffee, no fizzy drinks, try to avoid refined products, sugar etc) . Sorry if i am telling you things you already know .:o

When she were in school she lost a lot of time through not being able to move about without leaking. As soon as she got out of bed in a morning it was like someone had been murdered. During the day she was changing sanitary stuff every half hour max and that was going through a tampon and a towel. She doesnt seem to be as heavy now but its still constant bleeding for 3 weeks. She lives on a diet of rubbish though as she mostly refuses SW food. So its Mcdonalds all day while at work then comes home eats crisps, jaffa cakes and god knows what else in her room missing an evening meal unless she orders a takeaway. Trying to get her to eat more sensibly as her clothes seem to be shrinking in the wash :rotfl:and she is signed up with the gym that my husband and son use so atleast she is getting some exercise. Will speak to her about alternative therapies and see what she says.

  • Sorry I've been AWOL for a while :o

I can't believe where the week has gone. It's my first weigh-in tomorrow morning Eeeeeek!

I've tried to be extra good today.

    B. orange
    L. Muller light yog with summer fruits. Orange.
    Snack. Orange

Tonight's dinner, got some smoked cod fillets to do in oven with lemon juice, boiled sprouting broccoli ....AND I don't know what else I really fancy some noodles or rice with it.

I still don't think I'm doing it right.

Well done to those reporting weight losses, and hugs to those with health issues. I was a bit concerned my increased inflammation levels and/or meds may slow weight loss down. I have my CRP levels checked monthly. Decided not to worry about it and just do the best I can.
I'll report my weight loss for my first week tomorrow - eeeeeek

Are you feeling hungry through the day? It seems you are eating very little when you could be having so much more. Have you been using your healthy extras as i see no mention of milk/cheese or anything fibrous such as bread or cereals.

My husband has his crp checked every month, he has Ankylosing spondylitis as well as fibromyalgia. He eats all SW food and they have not made any difference to his crp levels or ESR. There is a diet however for people with pain/arthritic conditions but im loathe to go down that route as it seems far too difficult to understand, i know it is a no starch diet but there are so many hidden starches i for one dont want to exist on a limited diet when SW offers everything.

  • Thanks Stef,
I have been hungry but have avoided eating rather than eating the wrong things. I WILL get organised lol.
Some breakfasts have been 30g of granola in a Mulleright yogurt.

The biggest change to my diet so far:

I don't have the half+ bottle of wine each evening with dinner.
Bread has been virtually cut out.
I eat an awful lot of oranges :)
My wife could be more supportive.

  • Thanks Beanielou,

I only mentioned my wife not being supportive because she sits with a face on her if I refuse wine, and other naughties :(

It just makes it that much more difficult as I try to please everyone.

Good luck Banjo I can sympathise with an unsupportive spouse. I'm sure he puts oils/butter in my food without telling me :p.

Well school was closed and when I got there, there was the same 2 people who were there with me the night before. We were there and the Head wasn't, he came so much later. In the end there were about 8 people, so many that could get in didn't bother. I stayed til 11.30 and was so cold as the heating isn't working properly. Came home had soup then slept for a couple of hours :o. Back in tomorrow, we're not opening to the children until 9.30 and ending the day at 2.30 [hopefully] depends whether we get anymore snow tonight.

So food today has mainly been SOUP :D

B - weetabix milk [a] coffee x2 plus glass of water for meds.
    L - lentil/bacon/pasta soup, coffee [sleep]
    S - cheese curls [4.5]
    T - lentil/bacon/pasta soup with extra mushrooms
    Syns - 4.5
    S - satsuma later

Am stuffed now and still so tired, wonder if I got hypothermia at school/walk home :p

    Keep the faith all :A:A:A:A:A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I eventually said to my OH that I'd appreciate it if he didn't try and persuade me to have pizza etc. I explained that while I know he doesn't force me to eat it, when I'm tired I'm weak and easily swayed to eat rubbish foods rather than cook something and that he knows I feel carp about myself, and I'm trying to do something about it by following SW, and his wanting pizza all the time makes me feel worse. It seems to have worked and he doesn't ask half as often now. Surely it doesn't affect your wife if you are refusing to drink wine or eat nibbles?!
