The new books for 2013 have already popped up on ebay but people are selling them for silly amounts. even the old/out of date books are being advertised for lots of £s.:(

There have been a couple of offers already for free membership (daily mirror last week) and woman? mag also had a voucher (the issue that came out last Tuesday - the mag might still be in the shops today but I'm not sure when the voucher expires). for free membership so there might still be free membership offers around/to come meaning you would get your first week for just £4.95 with the up to date books and the image therapy class.

    Hi,

Does anyone know the date on the magazine cover?? Am looking to join for free as soon as possible.

    Thanks

  • Hello everyone! I'd really love to join in if I may, I've finally read the whole thread - thank you so much for all the information and inspiration.

I've done WW and online diets in the past with some success, but having been impressed with the SW magazine & recipes, I thought I'd give it a go. I started last Tuesday - none of the groups in my area are accessible to me and I couldn't really justify the online subscription at the moment as I'm on statutory maternity pay. Instead, I bought the starter pack from eBay and think I have my head around it all now - in no small part with thanks to you lovely people.

I've been logging everything I eat on a spreadsheet and have really enjoyed what I've had this first week and to top it off have lost 5lbs which is more than I had hoped for - so chuffed! I've been veggie for 20+ years so am going green each day. I've got about 39lbs left to lose, I really want to crack it this time - rather than losing a stone or so and then losing interest!

I attend a class weekly and there is often much hilarity in our group that what gets eaten after weigh in doesn't count.....

Of course it does count because the moment we step off those scales, we are starting a new week and are working towards our weigh in the following week (Except the new week for me starts the following day :rotfl:) BUT I'm wondering what other posters do? Do you still count your syns post weigh in or do you forget about the syns and enjoy a naughty meal/treat??

Evening all, welcome in newbies, well done losers & hugs to those in need :A:A

My god what a day, blizzard conditions while on lunch duty. So bad could hardly see the kids and if you stood still for more than a minute you looked like a snowman :rotfl:. Finally left school at 6.45pm and even then there were still 2 kids waiting to be picked up. Lots of parents stuck in traffic chaos. Bliddy snow . School shut to kids tomorrow but I still have to go in, down side of living within walking distance :o.

  • FE My weigh in was always my treat night.I celebrated a loss with a glass of baileys and something nice, but rarely over synning.

TIE we're at -9 here another dusting of snow, made crusty with ice, that of course on top of the slush that was out there from the monday fall. I don't envy your job in weather like this. Hot Choc weather, ~(Tesco low fat coco powder made up with alpro soya normal milk works out less syns that options etc);)

    Hi

I new.... not to MSE but to this thread :)

I have quietly been reading this thread since the 3rd of Jan and I just want to say "Thank you" to you all for inspiring me to join. I have done my first week and I have lost 6.5lb in the first week :D

I did WW for 7 months and put everything back on I had lost plus 3lbs :0
This is the first time in my adult life (now 30) can actually see this working. So I have set myself a target in advance of 70lbs to lose.

Good luck everyone and thank you all again for your inspiring posts

    xx
    :beer:cracking loss! stay with it!:T

  • Flat Eric I always have a treat but never go over syns - as I get back from WI relatively late (usually almost 7.30pm :O) I'm usually not really bothered for food but bf makes me eat something as I bring his tea back from the chippy! I usually have pasta and veg or something with chicken. Got to work tomorrow so may have pasta and cheese (HeA) and make extra pasta for tomorrow. Usually my post WI treat is an options/highlights hot choc and either a curly wurly or chomp from the fridge :D

    Today:
B: toasted wholemeal roll (HeA) and jam (1syn)
L: will probably be too nervous about my interview this afternoon to think about food. Hoping to eat a mini waffle (1syn) and a banana
T: pasta and cheese I think as I'm lazy :P

Trying to hydrate well up until 2.5hours before group (which is luckily my interview) so I can get rid of any extra water weight and hopng to...hmm how to phrase this...do any other business (haha!) before group what with being so close to target and with this being the last week I have to get to target before I have to pay again

Positive thoughts for good days to all
