Would be interested to know what fellow posters have for their lunch as I'm finding it hard to plan synfree lunches meaning I'm wasting syns :(

If I'm at home, maybe bacon egg and beans if I can be bothered... or if I'm at work the cheese pasta pot (batchelors, 1.5syns) or sometimes I cook up the batchelors savory rice (free) and fry some onion and courgette to put in it, this is nice cold or hot.

Today i have had beef, wine & mushroom casserole which has a few syns in. Yesterday i did a lot of cooking in preparation for the week and made home made mushroom soup (just mushrooms & veg stock) will be using total 0% greek yoghurt to make it a bit creamier (not sure if there is syns in this though??) .
Also made veggie & tuna pasta with passata with herbs in - this is free on EE day & green (as long as you use tuna as hex b). Both will be used for lunch time.

what plan do you usually go for FE? I will see if i can think up some solutions (also whats your set up? are you at home? in work?whats the kitchen like?)

This has been my first proper week back on plan for a little while. I say back on plan - its been a half hearted attempt really as my syns have been on the high side - repeating previous faults of having mostly good meals but wasting syns on chocolate and cereal bars (for breakfast) or having too many syns for my lunch.

I've been sticking to red/green this last week but when I get organised, will be trying to do Extra Easy.

I did buy fruit this morning - kiwis, cherries, blueberries and plums so intend to snack on this when I'm feeling peckish rather than talk myself into wanting chocolate.

I work in an office Mon through Friday - we have an office Fridge/2 microwaves/toaster and kettle so well equiped.

I do sometimes heat stuff at home and take in my food flask but need to get organised and actually make something first!
    !
It isn't really the weather for salad at the moment and I can take or leave soup. But I think the key for me is to meal plan rather than approach SW in the haphazard way I currently do!

This is what i used actually :D. The pack i had was carrots, sweetcorn & peas . Cant remember is peas are synned or not but i know sweetcorn is..

Peas will be if you are having a red day as they are not superfree./they are free on green only (and also free on extra easy) but the syns on a red day will be neglible.

i would count 2 syns. Next time I'm online I will check for you.

Hmmm can't find the steamfresh bags online. Will have a look in my food directory tonight.

It does say however (to give you an idea) that Field Fresh Select Mixed Vegetables, Carrots, Green Beans, Peas & Sweetcorn, frozen, 100g is 0.5 syns on red, free on extra easy and free on green.

Thank you so much, I feel the same way. I love food and cooking too. I am still a council gym member but not been for a while, planning to go swimming and I dusted off the Wii fit plus 2 days ago, so will be going on that.

Swiper, thanks for the advice, I don't think I will loose weight fast, although I would want to, impatient as I am. I have had a nosey on ebay and amazon for this years books but I suppose it is a bit early for people to already be selling theirs.
Can you get to Group just for a week to get the new books and the talk? It would probably be cheaper than buying the books from E-bay.

The new books for 2013 have already popped up on ebay but people are selling them for silly amounts. even the old/out of date books are being advertised for lots of £s.:(

There have been a couple of offers already for free membership (daily mirror last week) and woman? mag also had a voucher (the issue that came out last Tuesday - the mag might still be in the shops today but I'm not sure when the voucher expires). for free membership so there might still be free membership offers around/to come meaning you would get your first week for just £4.95 with the up to date books and the image therapy class.

    Flat Eric -

    Couple of ideas:

as you've got a microwave how about jacket potato with baked beans? Would only take about 5 mins or so.

SW quiche and salad; beans or scrambled eggs on toast; leftovers from the previous night.

Sounds a bit like me actually - today is my first "proper day" back on SW and going to re-join a group again this evening. I dont know how much i have gained ..its at least half a stone :o

Know what you mean about salads - its too cold (especially today) for eating salad. Do you have a slow cooker? What about making batches of casseroles? They are warming, not too much hassle to make and easily re-heatable? You could make a SW friendly version of hot pot? substituting the bacon for turkey rashers which are free?

Rice with veggies and quorn/peices of chicken breast? The bachelors ones that psychopathbabble mentioned are pretty yummy . Could do the same with cous cous? Throw some meat & veg in to make a lunch? (ainsley harriet version are nice and around 1/2 syns for a pack i think)

WM bread - fill with low fat cream cheese (hex a?) and ham with salady bits to bulk it up? followed by fruit? or if you are like me and cant stand the cr3ppy WW bread use a full slice and then syn the other?

jacket spud filled with tuna/cottage cheese/beans/spag hoops or HM SW friendly chilli?
