    Hi everyone,

Can I please come back and join in? :o I have been reading your lovely, helpful posts and I think I can feel at home here :grouphug:

I have wasted another year at WW, and have lost the same stone over and over again. I just can't do it anymore, the pointing, the weighing etc. I will be going it alone though as I have been to classes before, there are only 2 in my town and I don't like either of them and besides that, I can't afford it. :o

I do have some books, can't remember what year I was there, I think it was 2011, the one that is green on the front and I know how the plans work. The trouble with me is just sticking with it.

I am getting to the age now (47) where this obesity is really affecting my health, my work etc and I need to take control.

I am just going to take it one day and one lb at a time, I always fail at setting goals, never meet them. I have bought new Salter scales at Sainsbury's this morning, they were half price, so hopefully accurate.

so todays menu is as follows:
brunch: bacon, 2 Sainsb. low fat sausage (1 syn) tinned tomatoes mushrooms, egg
snacks: 2 alpen light (those cherry bakewell ones are lovely) (B) apple, some grapes, fat free yogurt
tea: something with very lean mince, not sure yet what, potatoes and lots of carrots, broccoli, onion

I still need an A and some syns, we still have lots of Jacobs crackers left from Christmas, might have some of them, with cucumber and some low low cheese later on.

Sorry for the long post and if I go missing at any stage will you please drag me back???:happyhear

    :hello:
Hello Mumoftwo, welcome aboard. :D Don't look at your experience with WW as a waist. Use it as a foudation stone of determination.
I have a friend that switched from the wobbly wubbly u plan to the sleeky wench plan in autumn. It took her 1 month to lose the equivelent of what she'd lost with ww. in 9 months. To say she was pleased was an understatement... and she didn't gain over Christmas.
You can get new books on ebay for about 20 quid or last years for a lot less. There is more on offer than red and green days now. But you could get started with your old ones.

A good starting point for free menu ideas on plan. Slimming Eats (highly recomend her orange and carrot cake bites...! ) is another excellent one, plus all the menus at the beginning of this thread.

A lot of lovely people here are going it alone, I will be the minute I get back in target...

Re- the 'age thing' I'm ten years younger and found that the speed that I lost weight last year caused my body to go menopausal. (6 stone between feb and sept) Not good with littlest throughing toddler tantrums. So please be sure you use ALL your syns. Yes we'll drag you back but only if you want dragging.

Lush - I agree with maman on that. You don't need sabotage help - it's easy enough to do with out help.

Wiz pot shots/mug shots are easy to find in most supermarkets. Homebargains B&M have cheaper ones but they are generally 1 syn more. The ones listed are free to have, perfect for work snacks, chuck it in a mug add hot water stir... wait 5 mins eat.

Aldi's also do their own variation which is called Cupshotz and these are also roughly the same syn values as the branded ones.

Thank you for the heads up on this Stef. Hubby is jobless and I resent paying £1 for something that used to be half that price. As we're heading to the store for the cheap extra lean mince we'll pop across the road and stock up!

Swiper Aldi currently have their extra trimmed bacon on offer @ £1.19 instead of £1.69. I know Lidl had the extra lean mince on offer this weekend @ £1.49 a pack.
I usually get all my extra lean meats from Sainsburys in the 3 for £10 offers.

    Button Mushrooms 49p 150g
    Butternut Squash 49p each
    Parsnip 49p 500g

Forgive me Stef for being a bit thick, but, can you eat these as extras or for a meal? Syns or free ones.
They're not like Pot Noodles are they? I don't like those They remind me of toe clippings.

The pasta pot shots are a bit like pot noodles but I much prefer them. I eat them instead of a sandwich at lunchtimes, it's nice to have something hot occassionally! The mug shots are too similar to pot noodles for my personal liking.

I bought the SW "Extra Easy All-in-One" cookbook last week and have tried 2 recipes already and both were gorgeous.

No 1 was Beef in Red Wine Casserole
No 2 was Caribbean Turkey and vegetable stew.

They were both also economical meals as I bought the meats on the 3 for £10 deal at Morrisons, along with the third item which was an unsmoked bacon joint which we had today.

Each meal served 4. I added diced sweet potatoes to Recipe 1 and it was gorgeous. The Turkey dish I just used all red peppers instead of red, green and yellow because that was all I had. That was excellent too.

Nice thing about these recipes you stick them in the oven and walk away for a couple of hours!:)
  • Thank you everyone for the support- day one of low syns down and not too bad.
    Ended up having had:
b: bran flakes and milk, satsumas (3 i think!)
L: 2 mini waffles (2 syn) with a tsp of jam between them (1 syn)
T: cottage pie - secretly quorn mince haha and 2 syn for the gravy
snack: teeny piece of choc 1 syn

    total = 6 syn.

have made rice with veggies for my lunch tomorrow (with 2 satsumas)
porridge for brekkie tomorrow which I'm dead excited about - on a full porridge kick at the minute; no idea why usually I'm not that fussed but I could just eat it for every meal currently if I let myself :P spag bol for tea at 5.5 syn. may splash out on a tsp of golden syrup for my porridge 1syn - feels super indulgent and just under a tsp is the perfect amount for my tastes :)
Going to get a bit of walking in tomorrow hopefully and the same on Tuesday and pre-group on Wednesday I have an interview to keep my mind off food :P

Now...am I right in thinking that once you get to target you're advised to have an extra HeA and HeB before you look at upping syns etc? Really worried about maintaining after this final push!

Welcome back Mum of Two. I'm sure you'll be fine this time. I have highlighted the piece which jumped out at me.

I felt like this but this time around I have really got my head around EE at SW. I love food and I've always loved different and colourful foods ..... I don't do boring!:) The recipes at SW are excellent and personally I don't think I have ever sat down to a crispbread and some low fat spread for lunch. If I had to eat like that I'd be off the wagon straight away.

I agree with you about taking it a pound at a time. My weight loss has been slow but I am so pleased because the weight has fallen off my face and my chin and neck have no loose skin.

Could you incorporate a little exercise into your day too? I do 30 mins brisk walking every day (which is 1.5-2 miles depending on the terrain). That's all I do but already I can feel the muscles in my tummy and legs tightening up and I feel much better when I come home because some days I honestly have to force myself to go out!:rotfl:I also go to yoga class once a week so I don't walk on that day.

I *think* it's free, at least our consultant says so. And she brings it to every group when we have tasters etc
