Anyway I am committed to the plan 100% again this coming week as I wonder if the indulgence of Chrimbo leftovers the week before I joined has caught up with me - we shall see.

You're absolutely right. Not everyone loses steadily on a weekly basis, I certainly didn't. I find whatever you do catches up eventually both good and bad. Stick with the plan, you'll lose.

Hi, can anyone suggest how I can incorporate more veggies into my breakfasts?

I've always looked at my SFs across the day rather than meal by meal. So I might eat some fruit mid-morning to balance a lack of SFs at breakfast or have a huge stir-fry or salad for lunch that had enough SFs for two meals.

Someone mentioned that consultants tell you to snack on free foods through the day. That's always worried me as I can't see how that would work. So, if you were to have lunch with a third SFs and then eat eggs and chicken all afternoon surely that would 'dilute' the SFs. That's why I prefer to look at a day's food and that includes my meals and snacks.

Has anyone got that great soup recipe that was all free please. It had loads of beans and things in it. I used to cook it a lot a couple of years ago

If you go to the second post of the thread there's a link to a SW recipe index. The 'dyno rod' soup you want is listed there.

Still at target here, or probably below. I haven't managed to get to a group since before Christmas.
  • Trying my best to shift this last 2lb but today I feel like I could just sit and eat and eat! I want to be at target by Wednesday as we are away at a tournament next weekend and I am going to totally relax as it is just 2.5 days and it's far away from any decent food (hospital food or sports hall grub!) and whilst I'm taking stuff with me at evening meals I will eat whatever I feel like off the menu at whichever restaurant/pub we go to!

    So far today:
wholemeal roll (HeB) with jam (1syn) and a little butter (1syn)
    satsuma
    mini waffle (1syn)
    couple of slices of ham
and 2 small pieces of thin chocolate - maybe 3syns

    so that's 6 syns already!

Haven't felt hungry over lunch but we're going to a carvery tonight so it will be 3syns for a yorkshire pudding and a couple for gravy. The veg is all pretty good where we go :)
Really want a banoffee tart for dessert but I'm worried it could sabotage me for the rest week :/... or I have it and low syn (around 5 or less) the rest of the week :/

    argh dilemmas!

Thank you for the comments about inflammation. I had asked our stand in consultant if it made any difference at all october time when we had a stand in and was told no just that some meds 'could' slow loses down but if you were sticking to the plan properly and not comforting eating and going over your syns the weight should still come off steadily. So this is quite reassuring. I do have psoriatic arthritis and im convinced i also have fibro although the gps here dont seem to give the label out till they have exhausted everything else - i certainly have the symptoms anyway. But persevere i will and shift this darn weight!

I have just made the diet coke chicken for tea and as it were bubbling away on the stove thought hahaha kids are gonna love this is smells like herbal tablets. Once it had reduced down to a lovely thick glossy sauce i were having to stop myself dipping in, its perfect!

Recipe for those who want: (although its sketchy)

    Chicken breasts - i used 2 for 2 people
    onion
    chicken oxo
    6TBSPS of passata
    dash of worcestershire sauce
    tsp of chinese 5 spice.
    Can of diet coke.

    Method.
Fry chicken and onion together till chicken browned and onion softened and starting to take on colour, then sprinkle over oxo.
Add coke, and rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil then allow to simmer for 15 -25 mins. You will see by eye that it is the right consistency.

The above recipe was posted on my consultants SW page but the sauce is meant to be enough for 4 people. however i found that there was only just enough sauce for the 2 chicken breasts that i used so you may want to double up quantities for more.

Stef I am so with you re WI disappointment, recorded just .2 of a lb loss which is more or less a STS. Have realised its probably still catching me up from the festive seasons junk fest and also not a full week back on SW. Fingers crossed for a better result next week as only want to be at the bottom end of my target.
So food today has been a bit rubbish, went to my Mum's for most of the day so didn't eat anything until I came home even though son tried to force feed me some mini party rings, I stuck to my guns and had nothing :T. We also walked most of the way home before sciatica pain in my hips made it to uncomfortable to walk so called hubby to pick me up. Son wanted to carry on walking so we drove to Mr S while son went home to put oven on.

    B - weetabix [a], milk [a], coffee
    L - nothing :o
T - bacon & lentil soup with handful [son's shovels] of pasta, small slice of garlic & cheese bread [5.5]
    Syns - 5.5
    S - 2x satsumas

Could someone please check the syns for Sainsburys garlic and cheese slices please? Also have seen in sainsbury that mug shot do a ready made snack pot but can't find them online yet so must be a new thing. Don't suppose anyone can find syn values for them can you?
    Thank you in advance :A
