    Well Good morning everyone.

Had my second weigh-in today and lost a paltry pound - pah! I was hoping for a good hefty weight loss after my first week - I have stuck to the plan 100%, not exceeded my syns, cut out alcohol completely and still only lost a pound. I say "only" because I have around 7 and a half stone to lose so at this rate I may be 50 before I reach target!

Anyway I am committed to the plan 100% again this coming week as I wonder if the indulgence of Chrimbo leftovers the week before I joined has caught up with me - we shall see.

I find the advice on this thread so helpful so thank you to everyone. I dont post everyday but do read and run so I can keep up with everyone. Heres to a better weight loss next week!

Hi, can anyone suggest how I can incorporate more veggies into my breakfasts?

Hi folks, well here I am having another go at SW after 8 years getting no where :o. I found out I have a under active thyroid so realise I need to work much harder at it.

The past week I've been doing the 30 day shred which has been difficult for me as I feel so unfit. I have nearly 2 stone to loose.

I want to use my syns on healthy unprocessed treats as I'm sure eating processed sugar laden foods slows the weight loss down for me. I just read my WW choc Brownie frozen dessert and the second ingredient is sugar followed by glucose fructose

Can anyone advise me on what healthy sweet treats I could eat instead ? Must be seriously yummy :p
    Kindness costs nothing :)

A SW 'fryup' could include beans, tomatoes, mushrooms.
That's just off the top of my head so sure there could be more.

Wow, thank you all for your welcome and help. It's much appreciated and I'm overwhelmed with your friendliness.

I'm sorry I don't know how to multi-quote, but I have read your posts and digested them. Just as well they don't carry syns :)

Oh Man...my first meal and I mess it up :o

Yes, I know I must eat more, but yesterday was so manic, I never got a moment to myself. I meant to cook chicken and make coleslaw. I'll do that today.

I'm very anxious that as I am on a lot of powerful meds, the pounds wont shift. So I suppose I am keen for a kick-start. I made breakfast for my wife and 2 kids this morning. Bacon and egg sandwiches. I had an orange and a coffee. Crikey, I'm going to look like an orange soon - just as well I'm not into fake tanning :)

Thank you again. I find it very helpful to read what others have eaten throughout the day.

BANJO Bear, You could have had the bacon and eggs and had mushrooms and tomatoes instead of bread ( could have had bread for your HEx B ) Unless you were saving your B for something else.
Welcome anyway and enjoy! Don't starve or you will give up.:)

    Mushrooms on toast.
    Tomatoes on toast.
    SW fry up.
Banana in your porridge or weetabix.
    Strawberries with FF yogurt.

I have done SE intermittently before but consultant wants to look at why i am only getting a STS on a normal EE week. Have even been sad enough to photo food on my fone so she can see it is 1/3rd superfree to the balance of rest of food. I am also not near target so its not a natural slow down. First time this has been in writing since being put in my book :o I started weighing at home 2 weeks before joining SW and weighed 15st 11lb, Initial WI was 15st 2. Now 6 months later i am at 13.3. The most i have gained in a week is 2lb but this was prior to xmas and i werent eating properly due to having sciatica and costochondroitis. Other gains during that time have only been 0.5lb around star weeks. So my slow pattern of losing or STS has been everything else.
One good thing to look forward to is my free club 10 week, as computer showed last night it is now out in the post for me to hand in at group!
My word, ive never ever heard anyone mention costochondritis. I had it from october 2011 until June 2012 on an every day basis, awful. my sympathies. It still comes back to me now and then.

Just a thought Stef, are you taking any anti inflammatories? I had a very bad bout of TMJ last June, was sticking to SW and eating an excessive amount of fruit as my appetite went with the pain, and not losing any weight. As soona s i stopped taking diclofenac, i lost 4lb in one week. Anyway, just wondered if it might be med related . I know consultants say its nonsense that medication affects weight loss, but it certainly did for me.

*back to lurking. Still at target* :o

Edit, just noticed you try to stay med free- oh well!!!!!!! Inflammation in my body stopped me losing as well, in fact when i took the costocondritis originally, i gained 4lb that week for no reason at all.

Been meal planning for this week, so far we have

Tonight - quorn lasagne and spicy chips
Sun - onion gravy, hassleback baby potatoes, slow cooked gammon (OH veggie saus) , veg
Mon - Baked bean lasagne with wedges
Tues - toast and (weigh night,, always have a "treat" meal) and OH has pizza and home made chips
Wed - HM black bean quorn and egg fried rice
Thu - Pasta bake - aubergine one, but using courgettes instead

Also want to make SW ketchup, and mac cheese. Been living on a lot of soup lately, am convinced it's the reason i didn't gain over christmas.

Ive become hooked on a recipe beanie posted a while ago but ive adapted it slightly

2 onions and few garlic cloves
    2 tins value baked beans
    2 tins value carrots
    2 tins value passata/tinned toms

Fry onion with 2 tsp dried basil and garlic/lazy garlic. Add remaining ingredients and teaspoon or two of chilli flakes. Cook ten mins, then whizz, add a good splash of milk and water to desired thickness.
I call it cheap lazy cupboard soup, and i love it!!!!

Shellie, Zippy. No im not on meds i only took them for 3 days when the sciatica started before xmas and it was too much for me to be totally wiped out all the time and i dont like them as i am TTC, so the more drug free i can be the better.
As far as eating is concerned yes im eating 3 proper meals a day.
Breakfasts are switched between a good full fry up or cereal topped with yogurt and frozen mixed berries about 1/3rd of a punnet. Lunch has been a variation of different SW soups followed by fresh fruit then a proper meal of an evening. Following consultants advice have been making sure theres an even balance of red meats, white meat, fish and poultry to give a boost but still nothing then Syns the past week upped it to around 12 a day. Thursday is my WI day so friday i had 9.5 syns and today is still undecided as i tend to choose something mid evening when the munchies creep in but leaning towards having a couple of crackerbreads with low low and tomatoes tonight.

Thank you all for your input it is appreciated.

Of course some meds do affect our weight loss.
It does make me a wee bit mad that some SW peeps (cons) say it doesent.

Sorry i just edited it as seen you dont take meds! I do find inflamation very much affects my weight - my inflammation levels in my blood were up for a long time (were tested weekly) and for 3-4 months, i didn't lose anything. x
