  • I'm desperate to join slimming world I have been successful using their plan before and when I followed it along side alot of exercise I felt the best I ever had done. Unfortunately money is tight and I am not able to join so thought I would hang around with you guys to motivate me.

I need to plan what I am going to eat for the week and make a shopping list. In the past I have found eating healthily expensive and so hope to feed us all (5) for under £100 without getting bored so will be searching for inspiration and guidance!

has anyone seen/bought the book by Nadia Sawalha called The Greedy Girl's diet? Spotted this advertised in the back of the Morrions mag but having looked on Am@zon, the preview is rubbish as the index doesn't display so no opportunity to see what recipes are included. :(

I'm going to my first slimming world meeting Tuesday night after bumping into someone who's been doing slimming world for about 8 weeks and looks fantastic. From the bits and pieces I've read online and in one of the magazines I bought, I think I've a rough idea of the rules. I've changed to semi skimmed milk from whole milk, and have started buying nimble bread, muller light yogurts, mugshots and batchelors savoury rice. Is there anything else I need to stock up on.

Definitely buy a can of Frylight. Then you'll need to do a meal plan and shop for that. Plenty of fruit and veg will be at the top of the list! Look at the sample menus online and in the magazine for ideas.

I'm sure she means well lush but your bf's mum is a pain buying you alcohol syns when she knows you're doing SW. I think you're a star sticking to the plan and getting to target when those round you seem to be encouraging you to have syns! When I go to carvery I'm always so stuffed with main I've never got room for a pudding. The trick is to be stuffed with the 'good' veg as the roasties are so tempting.

Sorry for multiple quotes and replies as it wouldnt let me combine.
Have placed images for both the products so you know what to be looking for. Prices vary dependant on what stores you have locally. Mugshot sachets are around 33p in Home bargains, or 75p in supermarkets. Pot shots are on offer in Morrisons a fair bit and are priced between 50p - £1.
Syn values for the pot shots are above, mug shots are up to 2.5 syns i think it is for the cheese variety or free for tomato and herb, chicken varieties. Or 0.5syns for the thai style.
Aldi's also do their own variation which is called Cupshotz and these are also roughly the same syn values as the branded ones.
