Hello, SW do lots of free recipes on the website too regardless if you are a member or not :) I think EE is just a mixture of red and green with meat, poulty, rice, pasta and potatoes being free with 1 calcium option and 1 fibre option ... Could you try ebay for the books as they are always some on there :)

IMHO SuziQ - you would be better to go to group for at least 1 week rather than spend out money on eBay books - at the moment with the reveal offer it is £4.95 to join which gives you a pack with all the information & a talk from the consultant which should reinforce your understanding

Even without the reveal offer it's currently only £9.95 to join - books on eBay go for around £20-30  - i don't understand it personally

WI last night with the Diamond member taster session - put on lots of weight again - really need to eat better! :rotfl: Anyone want to cook for me???
  • ok back from hols. Didn't weigh before I went & haven't weighed now so no idea of the damage I done lol .... TRUST me there must have been some cos I pile on weight easy and hard to lose .... Anyway back on the wagon & aside from a wedding in July & 2 birthdays in October there should be nothing that knocks me off track!

I have a CT scan tonight, but I think that will come back clear :) because the urine test came back blood free yesterday & I haven't had any major pain for nearly a week :)

Still a bit wary of jumping back on the wii as I can get a little obsessive, so might try doing the diet for a bit & when I feel like I've shifted a little bit ... say couple of months then I will start it up again, but def now c25k as my knees DEF can't take that!

Anyway have to dash as I just heard the post & think I have new beads from china! Not that I want to beadilybeadilyboo or anything! :)

oh! hi to everyone! hope you are all doing well on our respective journeys xx

Blodwen - I found I was yo-yo'ing a bit recently so decided to try alternating red and green days. It certainly seemed to help prior to going on holiday to start the losses again. Am also doing that this week as you can see from my plan above, having just come back from holiday. Hoping for at least some damage limitation!

Thanks - I already have a mixture of days but doesn't seem to make any difference, glad it's working for you though and hope the scales are kind :)

Interested to know what changes you're thinking of. Many of us need a bit of a 'shake up' now and again.:)

Haha, sorry for being so cryptic but what I'm doing isn't SW so don't really want to say too much on here and confuse things, maybe on another thread. Am still going to class (not telling anyone there I'm not following it) and will still post here but won't post menus. We'll see how it goes - if it's a massive failure I'll go back to following SW, at least if I keep quiet I won't be skulking back to class with my tail between my legs! :rotfl:

Well after my 'day before WI' paranoia I've lost 2.5lbs :D

Now in that 18 - 17 yard though can't wait to be out of this one too ;) Never want to see such numbers on the scales again!!

Hope everyone's 100% today? Sun is out & that always helps to feel good ;)

    Hi Everyone :hello:

I will be back on the wagon tomorrow, dreading stepping on the scales to see what damage has been done, last two weeks have been horrible, lots of stress with family etc, one thing that really cut me to the bone was my nephew cutting me off for no reason other than I hadn't been to see nana or didn't go to the funeral, he is in Texas for four weeks now & I hope to see him when he comes home as he is obviously only young & only hearing one side of the story. :o

I see there are a lot of new faces, welcome to the thread & good luck on your SW Journey. See you all tomorrow x

    Well done Catt :j

Sorry to hear of your troubles Macpep. Sounds like you're in the right frame of mind to get back on the wagon, so draw a line under whatever the scales say and keep going :)

    Afternoon all

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine :hello::wave:..I had WI last night and gained a 1lb. I felt very mard and very much "whats the point" last night :o:(. Ended up having a rather large wobble. Hoped i would feel better this morning but didnt and i was still very much "i cant be bothered" :o.

In the end i stuck to plan anyway and sulked a bit :o:o until i got to the dentist. My practice (and another in sheffield) are trialling a new NHS scheme whereby you are given a red, green or amber light - (Red = issues, green= healthy mouth & amber= warning).

In the past (talking 7+ years ago) i was a bit lacksidaisy when it came to dental care. Dont get me wrong - i did brush my teeth twice a day but it was a 30 second affair rather than the recommended 2 minutes. As a consequence i now have mild gum disease :o.
Approx 3 years ago i wanted to get braces but was refused by the orthodontist due to poor teeth care. I pulled my finger out and really made a HUGE effort to solve gum issues (weirdly my teeth are super strong & are in fab condition - only ever had the one filling in 34 years of life). I expected to be on the red/amber warning when i attended the dentist - to my surprise i was given a GREEN light. The dentist informed me that my teeth & gums were no different than my last appointment (which was 10 months ago) .

I am elated :T. Had another discussion with the dentist regarding braces and they are happy to refer me to the orthodontist again. The dentist said that as far as she could see , she didnt think that i would have any problems with regards to being approved by the orthodontist & to come back for a more through scale & polish before my appointment. I am so so so happy .:D:j:j

Just wanted to share :) so back to SW..I am on EE today and menu is as follows:-

B - berries (strawbs, blueberries, raspberries) with shape yoghurt(really need to see if these are free or not)

L - Lemon & pepper savoury rice(1)with steam fresh birds eye broccoli, carrots & cauli plus a little chicken.

D - Tandoori Salmon (2), roast veggies (frylighted), new spuds

snacks - 2 alpen light (hex b), milk ( hex a), special K crisps (4.5), apple with toffee muller light.

    Welcome Newbies

catt- well done on your loss :T:T

Blodwen - Did you drink enough water last week? The dehydration may be the cause of the 0.5 gain? Its clearly not your food choices. Are you planning on trying the 5:2 diet? I wondered about doing this for a day during the week. :o

macpep - Im sorry that it has been a stressful 2 weeks for you :(. Death is hard to deal with. I have my fingers crossed for you.

MM - I have not seen you on the thread for the last week or so but if you are lurking i just wanted to say i am thinking about you (not because anything has happened) just because i notice you are not around. Hope you are ok.

I think only 1lb gain after a week away is great RFD! I know you were hoping not to have put on, especially as it seems unfair after you've said no to so many tempting things, but you've actually done really well. Well done on the dentist stuff too and having teeth like this :D
Blodwen - Did you drink enough water last week? The dehydration may be the cause of the 0.5 gain?

I always drink quite a bit of water in work, moreso if I've walked/cycled. I think that may have been the cause of last week's gain (hot weather + cycling + alcohol) but thought it would come off this week. Meh, the numbers aren't the be all and end all, thank God!

Ooh you're a canny one aren't you - I might be! ;) Are you thinking of incorporating it with SW? I considered that but when putting the numbers into MFP it turns out I only have about 1300-1400 cals a day on an average SW day so even though it would create a bigger deficit for the week I don't think it would make any difference for me, plus the attraction of 'I can have what I want tomorrow' wouldn't be there. Would be interesting to know how well that would work though. Have actually started today- think it will take a bit of tweaking (from what I've read, may actually need to eat more on up days to lose) but having read the book and looked at some of the papers on the health benefits I thought it was worth a go :)

I have also been thinking about those we haven't seen for a few weeks, or even longer - MM, Stef, BCS, G&B, Frogga, Banjo - if you're reading this, hope all is well with you all.

Is 5 packets of crisps bad!? I don't know why I do it. Really fed up now and considering the chocolate truffles that are in the fridge in the garage.

Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x

EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!
