  • Thanks, Nessie. She is a big personality and I don't think she understands how off-taking her sense of humour can be. I don't honestly think she is a nasty person, I think she just wants massive weightlosses every week and, in her mind, she probably thinks she is being super motivating. But she is actually being super rude and super patronising!

She makes some good points and I'd rather go to her than to the first consultant who just couldn't be bothered at all.

I have to laugh, this morning my Mum said - "You'd better cheer up! She'll be asking what's wrong with your face" (leader's usual line to me). I said, "Why? What is wrong with my face?" and she told me I looked really petrified. It was because I was worried about the leader coming to me!".

The way I look at it is that I've only got 8 lbs to go to get to my target, so I won't have to put up with her much longer. I'll be moving in September so I will join a new meeting as a target member.

I can't understand why you would stay there, she sounds awful :-/ leaders are meant to be supportive and nice! where I live I have about 6 different groups to go to if I didn't like mine (which I do, she's lovely) is it not the same for you?

    Morning all :D

Posting this from the Isle of Man as I wanted to try & keep semi on track. So yesterday was a 4am start for me. Thankfully the goon neighbours must have been having an early night as there were no interruptions :T and I got about 6 hours sleep :T:T
I knew I wouldn't want to eating at 4am so I had prepared my breakfast the previous evening. I chopped up loads of fruit in a cheap container & took a muller light with me (plus spoon). Also took a hi if bar. Ate breakfast on the train at 5am. By the time I arrived at the airport(6.30) was starting to feel peckish so i stopped in caffe nero & ordered a peppermint tea & ate the hi fi bar. :T

This wasnt quite enough though & I was still hungry :undecided so once I had gone through the check in Rigamole ( which has been changed again incase anyone is on their hols) it was nearly 8am  so ended up In boots where I bought more fruit & carrot sticks & sugar free polos for the flight ( only had 2 syns worth ) . Mum picked me up at the airport and suggested we go out for lunch - my face was :huh:) and what am I going to do thoughts ran through my head.
In the end I agreed to go to lunch with her & we ended up in the sound cafe ( which is the very tip of the island & is a lovely area for nature ) . There was nothing remotely SW friendly on the menu so chose a WM ham salad sandwich ( which turned out to be a baguette -poor menu wording :rotfl:) and a bowl of chiPs to share :o. As it turned out I ate the baguette & we left half a bowl of chips ( progress as i would previously have wolfed them down regardless of how full I was) . My mum isn't as greedy as me ( infact I am the only over weight person in out family :o) .

We finished our lunch & decided to have a little walk around before getting the bus ( its about 20 mins on the bus from my parents). Then I suggested we walk part way back to Cregneash and mum tells me its a good mile all uphill :rotfl::rotfl:.

The walk certainly helped me to not feel as guilty for eating a few chips & the baguette. It must have taken us a good hour or so.:rotfl:

We got back into Port Erin & went to the shop so I could buy more fresh fruit & a few other bits & bobs. My mum had thoughtfully planned a dinner out that she thought was SW friendly - we had lean pork ( with all fat bits removed) with new spuds, carrots & broccoli made with a Somerset pork packet sauce mix (split between 4 would make it around 2 syns I think) . Dad then decided he wanted wine & went to buy some. We all had a glass each ( small one for me) but he also came back with cadburys :(. He offered us all some but I refused mine - the look on his face was priceless:rotfl::rotfl:

So all In all despite the fact I had originally planned to do a green day yesterday, I am extremely happy with the food choices I made & the walk back. Believe me walking a mile all uphill is very tiring :rotfl::rotfl:so even though I have way gone over on syns again I am proud of the small steps I have taken.

Today I plan on doing EE ( I will stick to this as much as possible)

    B - fruit & shape 0% yoghurt ( pineapple, raspberries,blueberries & strawberries)
    L - hex b toast with hex a cheese . Apple
D - I have suggested bacon & mushroom penne pasta ( slimming eats) - no added cheese on top for me however. Will have some melon to start.

    Snacks - options (2), milk (2) ,

    Happy Friday all.. :T

What a beautiful view RFD :D Always wanted to go to the IoM :)

Well done on good food choices - I also finish chips & bits even if I'm not hungry :o I'm doing quite well in not finishing my daughters leftovers these days though ;)

You're right to be pleased RFD, you made good choices where you could and I'm sure the walking will help. Picture looks lovely, never been to IOM either but it looks beautiful, similar to where my folks live in Wales. Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks rfd, I think you had a brilliant day yesterday and how kind of your mum to think SW when planning your meals. The photo is gorgeous, reminds me of Worms Head on the Gower.

I'm starting to have problems already as I haven't done a shop. For some reason I was starving at lunchtime. Fruit bowl empty and fridge almost the same. I ended up with a tomato sandwich. Just 2 pieces of wholemeal, tomato and some salt, no spread. I feel like I've done something really bad when really extra HEXs are the 'official' way of maintaining. Now I think about it I could have made some savoury rice and chopped the tomato and a few bits into that. Maybe tomorrow.:)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Afternoon all,

I can't remember everyone names at the moment but the lady who has water retention at *star week (hopefully that is what you called it) - my friend has been told to take water retention tablets to ease with the bloating / pain. I would have walked out too if my leader had announced that to everyone in the group.

Also to the person that told us about the lady having a McD'd - that is awful and maybe i'd consider writing a letter of complaint ... I know it is a franchise but surely they don't want this kind of bad publicity. I am also lucky that i have several sw clubs near me and wouldn't hesitate to walk out if someone spoke to me like that!

I have been with sw for 3 months now and I haven't been fully committed hence 10lb gain  I decided to draw a red line under these last few months and start again. I am assuming I haven't been giving it my all because everything else in my life is good and I am very happy at the moment except for my weight which I tend to yo yo with :o

After speaking to a few group members via our online facebook group they have been showing before and after photos (well how they are getting on so far) which has really inspired me. I don't consider myself a huge lady but I do have half of my body weight to lose so I am obviously bigger than I think :embarasse

I have been doing a bit of planning this week as I haven't been to group for 3 weeks due to time off work so haven't done much damage control I thought I would forward plan and do next weeks menu plan and just need to write my shopping list for tomorrow.

I am feeling very positive and renewed motivation for this week. If I have a good week though I usually have a day off which tends to lead to 2 and a bad week follows - I need to break my cycle.

Welcome back mich. Hope you had a great time despite the weight gain.;) I'm off to Turkey next week. I plan to enjoy myself and worry about getting back to target when I return.

Thanks!.. Have a fab time, that's what I did.. Enjoyed myself.. Made ok choices food wise (with one or two exceptions!) but still had some of what I fancied with bread, ice creams, beers etc..

WI last night and I had 2 1/2 lb gain so did manage to pull back 3lbs from the 5 1/2 I put on from my WI at Boots.. Pleased with that :)

    Hi all,
I tend to dip in and out of this thread so I hope you don't mind me posting.
Hope all is well with everyone!
Hubby has been steadily loosing with EE from home and has now lost an amazing 4.5 stone! I am super proud of him but he still has a few stone left to go and has now had 3 weeks where the scales have been fluttering but no real movement. If I type a typical days food can some kind soul suggest anything to get things moving along again please?
    Thanks very much indeed
