That's absolutely right mm. What motivates me is being able to look forward to the weekend and have treats then, especially my wine syns. I don't feel I need a treat very night but that's just me.

mi, I think your consultant is being really mean to make such a fuss about one tiny gain. If I were you I'd just stick to the EE plan and eventually those few last pounds will go. When I got to target I was very slow losing the very last few pounds (at least a couple of months but there was a holiday in there:o). I'd resolved that if I got desperate there were a few things I could tighten up on or try like measuring syns/HEBs a bit more carefully or trying SE or eating more SS. In the end I didn't need to. What actually happened (almost two years on) is I've struggled not to fall below target!:rotfl:

    Back soon.:)

Thanks, Maman. I've been keeping my food diary, so far I've had 14 syns, 12.5 and 14.5 syns on the days since WI - I'm happier and feel thinner so sod leaders advice. 7 syns a day did NOT work for me mood wise or weight wise. Don't get me wrong I do have 5 syns a day sometimes but not a whole week of it!

I have to admit, I've been feeling a little disheartened. The week before I lost 2lbs (which for me as a Coeliac and with less to lose is a big loss) but leader barely batted an eyelid and didn't ask how I did it or did I have advice for other members like she does with other people. Then she made such a big deal over half a pound to me, instead of focusing on how well I've done over all. The same after 3 weeks in Florida, I came straight back to WI and lost 1.5lbs - no congratulations. She just said, "I allow myself to gain up to 10lbs when I go to Florida for 2 weeks."

It probably sounds silly but she is a great leader to everyone but not to me. I like the meetings but I'm dreading her coming to me in IMAGE therapy now. Twice now in meeting she has said, "What's wrong with your face?" to me infront of everyone and I was just sitting there, normally. I felt quite embarassed by it and self-conscious. I'm not that confident in my looks anyway so that made me feel a bit low. I think she has just got me all wrong.

Sorry for venting guys. Its just hard for me as well because I'm never going to be slimmer of the week or slimmer of the month. We've got a lot of people in our group who have a lot to lose and a lot of men too, so to get slimmer of the week you have to lose about 6lbs in one week. I don't really feel any support in meetings. The ladies who have lost 6 stone and have 3 stone left to lose for example, get loads of encouragement when they lose 1lb but because I only had about 18lbs to lose when I joined, I'm just sort of skated over. I know I'm being silly, its just we all have a story. My story is that I was always slim, I was a dancer, then my health broke down very badly 18 months ago, I was housebound, I became very depressed, due to medication I gained over a stone in weight (which at 5"2 was a lot to me), I was very low, hated myself, ended up that food was the only thing I was getting pleasure from etc etc. Now losing 11lbs may not be alot to some people at my meeting, including my leader, but to me its a sign of me trying to turn my life around for the better and a simple well done from my leader or another member in meetings wouldn't go amiss.

Ok rant over! And breathe :D.

Good luck over the weekend everyone! I do still believe that SW is the best "diet" I've ever done so just keep sticking to plan and the lbs will come off.

No problem with having a rant mi.:)

I think it's commendable that you took yourself in hand when you were only a little overweight. I wish I'd done the same but I let it slide for ten years and only had my LBM when I was faced with buying size 18. I really wish I'd joined SW years earlier when I think of all the time I wasted being fat. It's a shame about your consultant but you're so close to target now that it doesn't seem worth going to another class. If I were you I'd stay until you reach target just so you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you did it in spite of her! Keep posting, you'll definitely get encouragement here:D

Welcome NYD. This thread is a brilliant support group, welcome aboard. :)

Agree that your doctor sounds incredibly patronising getting there. We've had a lot of discussion on here recently about cutting calories v SW and it is possible to do both. I suppose SE is a bit like that as by having the two thirds SF you'd automatically cut calories.

I had a bad day yesterday. Ended up with non-SW curry and chips and then opened a big bag of crisps.:o Today I'm going to be much better. I had egg on toast with mushrooms for breakfast. I'm making SW burgers to have with SW wedges and some roasted veg for supper. If I feel hungry in between I'll have some fruit or some HM veg soup. I haven't been to WI for a few weeks but my jeans are telling me I need to get be a bit stricter with myself. I think it's all the restaurant meals on holiday catching up with me.

    Hey everyone,

I have been thinking of join slimming world for the last couple of weeks. I have only ever done WW before which was a few years ago now. Abit apprehensive about joining SW but I know I need the help to loose weight, I just can't do it on my own! Due to other commitments it is going to be a couple of weeks before I can actually join a group but just wanted to say hi! And I hope I will be able to comment with some weight loss success soon! :D.

Thank you for the lovely welcome maman. I am looking forward to sharing this journey with you all.

I went out for the day today with my lovely husband, it was so nice to get out and about. Lunch consisted of a tuna salad (yay) but with a dollop of coleslaw which I'll have to estimate. For tea is chicken tikka with wholemeal pitta and salad. I love this plan, I'm not sure why I always veer off plan when there is so much lovely food you can enjoy. Only I know that I guess! I've got a good feeling that this group will help me a lot.

    Happy Saturday night everyone.

Evening all, well done to all the losers and very big hugs to those in need (including me :o).
Big Big hello to the newbies, welcome in we're a friendly bunch :A

I'm still in stress city about the school move (which happened thurs/frid) we go in to new school to unpack mon-wed then kids in Thus &Fri. Am stressing big time but about such silly things like where will I hang my coat as no pegs for adults in class. Also where will I put my bag as staffroom is miles away and again nowhere in class to put it, nuts I know ;) oh well we shall see.

Am not doing so well food wise, you do NOT want to know what I am about to eat . Looking forward to going back to work just so I can eat healthier and get back on track. Am now just over half pound over target, first time in 3+ years I don't like it but only myself to blame. STS this week which is a blessing but not hopefully for next week. :(
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Sorry to hear that beanie.

I'll miss your kindly posts but if reading about SW every day is too much you deserve a break. Be back soon!

How much out of range are you? Sometimes just a little can be the hardest bit to shift (as mi was explaining).:):A
