Having a horrible day so far.

Woke up at 5am with terrible stomach cramps, made it into work and my trousers are cutting into me - stomach no better, head banging and to top it all off I've had my Mgr shouting at me for something that is his fault and nothing to do with me.

    I could easily cry:(

My WI is tonight but I think I am going to give it a miss as I quite obviously have put on this week with the pmt and I don't think I could hope with hearing that tonight. Would probably cry there and then.

Its just brilliant being a woman isn't it.

I've not been good at all over the weekend whilst away in the van. All meals were on plan but the syns were way over - kept eating the snacky stuff I'd put in "just in case" like pink 'n' whites, Snackajacks. Also had a few glasses of vino!!!

Syns since WI on Thurs: 65.5 - none so far today but as I'm at home it's much easier not to pick at the "synful" stuff when theres carrot sticks, diced pineapple, Mullerlights etc in the fridge.

It's not quite as bad as I thought it was; 'twas only 2 days of going over and not all 4! Hopefully I can claw it back over the next few days before WI on Thursday morning, which will be my last before holiday next week.

Sorry to hear you are having a bad day Lantanna :(

I am on day 7 of SW and still on plan. I am feeling mighty pleased with myself as it wasnt happening earlier in the year ( i was very much - on, off, on, off) . Had my wine and a bit of chocolate on saturday evening. I think i probably went a little over but maybe only say 5 or so.

I am on the fence as to whether to go back to to group or not..I am not keen on the consultant on monday group however i would like to buy more hi-fi bars and have a look at the recipe books. Have also toyed with doing SW online as well. Does anyone do this online at all? are you able to purchase items? or is it just in group only?

    EE for me today.

    B - pineapple & muller light vanilla
L - cottage pie with cauli on side ( 1/2 hex A cheese)
    D - singapore style chicken noodles ( 0.5)

Snacks - apple, and raspberries. WW greek style yog (0.5), packet of bernard matthews turkey chunks. original ryvita (hex b) with philli light (2nd 1/2 hex a), skimmed Milk (2)

My WI is Thursday too and I'm hoping that not too much damage done by recent holiday and a fairly synful weekend.

So far today I've had a bowl of baked beans and toast. I've got a bit of LO casserole for lunch. Need to up the SFs. HM gammon, Jersey Royals and a cauli and broccoli cheese for supper. I think I'll defrost a bowl of berries as well. There are syns in there but not too many.

I paid up willingly for classes when I was getting to target as it kept me on the straight and narrow. I wouldn't keep going now if it wasn't free at target. My consultant is a pleasant, friendly girl but she doesn't do much to promote discussion in Image Therapy. She just trots out all the standard sound bites she's been given from SW HQ and doesn't seem interested in having the sort of discussion that we have on here.. To be honest I think I've done more to help people who can't understand where they're going wrong. She is really poor at scrutinising meal plans to find the culprits. That being said, I've met some really lovely people who I'd never have known in any other part of my life (a bit like on here really:A).

RFD I joined online when I first found out about SW and to be honest it was a total waste of money. Apart from the program details and having access to syn values and calculator there was nothing worth the huge amount of money they charge. There is no support at all and I personally wouldn't recommend it especially when you've got a support network like we have on here.

  • Thanks Beanielou, Maman and Blodwen for your words of encouragement. I'm still finding it hard this week. I have stuck to plan but having to give my leader my food diary this week I am nervous and its making me feel under pressure this week. BUT I have not strayed from what the EE plan says at all so any criticism will only come from her own opinion (ie her saying I can only have up to 10 syns a day instead of up to 15) and not SW official advice.

I am going to stick to her meeting as she is the only morning WI that I can make. If she singles me out and says things like, "What's wrong with your face?", I think I will quietly say how self conscious this makes me and how it is putting me off staying to meeting, please could she go a little easier on me. If the worst comes to the worst, I'll just stop going to meetings. Lots of people WI and leave and meeting takes an hour and a half at least which is a big chunk out of the day! IT seems like groundhog day every week as the same peope have the same problems and the same advice is given as every single member's weightloss is read out. The only thing that WWs had as an advantage for me over SW was that the meetings were a lot better. Each week the leader had a theme, sometimes she would cook in class, talk about strategies for getting through Easter or Christmas or Weddings in advance etc.

Can I just ask... How many of you count your syns for the week as opposed to for the day? Its just, I find it hard to only have 15 on a Sunday as I like a more relaxed day and to have a nice dessert, yorkies with my roast and a chocolate bar as a once a week treat in the evening. Same as for if I go to the cinema (once every 6 or 8 weeks), I want a small popcorn or an icecream. I'd rather have, say, a 25 syn day and enjoy it followed by (or proceeded by) a 5 syn day...so essentially "borrowing" syns from another day. Is this allowed? Does it work for you?

Some recommendations... The Welsh Onion Cake recipe from the SW website is Gorgeous! Its like hotpot potatoes with onion and cabbage underneath, it would be nice with leeks added too. I made it for our roast for a change and everyone loved it. The only difference is I added 1tsp of Lurpak Lighter (1.5 syns) to the cabbage before I baked it but as it serves at least 4 people I counted it as 0.5 syn. You can make it free. The non SW family members couldn't believe it was a SW recipe - they wanted to join!

Also Aldi Choceur Mini Bubbles are only 4 syns and gorgeous for a chocolate fix as they melt in your mouth and are really creamy. Yum!

Thanks MM.. I notice it works out as £5 a week which is the same as group. Not worth it if you dont get any support or access to the bars/books.

    Ho hum what to do..

MI You are way nicer than i am ..If someone said that to me I'd reply " nothing, whats wrong with yours? You look like you are chewing a wasp".. How rude of your consultant . I would also complain to SW about her because she representing them, and i highly doubt they want a consultant who is prone to insulting its members. Not good for business is it?
Are there no other groups that you could attend? I dont think i could carry on at that group.

With regards to syns..when i have done SW in the past i have stuck to using the 15 syns per day but then struggled at weekend when i have wanted a glass of wine/treat. I am changing tack this time and trying a new method of using minimal syns (1 or 2) for 2 days out of the week. This will be enough for to cover the wine plus a small choccie bar/other treat.

Lots of people do save syns or count them over the week- I don't think it's officially sanctioned but my consultant is happy for people to do it. I don't normally as I like a little treat each night but do on occasion - will be this week as going out on Friday night and want to save some for a few drinks.

Thanks for the recommendation- I often but the Spiral bars from Aldi (like Kinder Bueno for 6 syns) but will try these :)
