Are there any syns attached to the curry paste? Thinking i will go for the thai curry after all
The Tesco and Asda red and green ones are 1 syn per tbsp- I tend to use about a tbsp per 2 portions but sometimes a bit more.rainbowfairydust wrote: »This was on the main news this morning MM..its a bit of a non starter IMO as this rule will only apply to new businesses. I personally think not a lot.Mediterranean_Mum wrote: »Absolutely true - it would be lovely to see it across the board but I guess they'd never be able to do that.
I also think that if kids have money to buy takeaways then it's the parents that need to be educated - not the kids - so it actually will make very little difference.
Completely agree, can't see that it will make any difference. If kids (or indeed anyone) want to eat junk they will find a way to do it, so they and the parents need educating. Also, a bag of chips after school now and then probably wouldn't hurt (especially active teenagers who seems to be able to eat anything and everything) so why should they be punished by a blanket ban?2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Well done Chonorla and Joedeniseaggypanthus wrote: »I read all the posts and replies, but can you tell me how to quote posts in my post so its easy to respond?
To quote one post, click the Quote button at the bottom. To multiquote, click the orange and pink balloon button on all those you want to quote - think you can only quote 3 at a time so if you click more the most recent 3 you clicked will come up. To shorten quoted posts, delete the parts you want in but make sure you leave in the bits in [] at the beginning and end. It's my second WI tonight and I have literally just discovered that I have come on my * week. Do you think that this will affect what the scales say tonight?
Everyone is different, but you'll see tonight - do you feel bloated at all? it never used to affect me but since coming off the pill I always seem to gain in the week before * week only to lose it the next.2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Do you normally use all your syns? If it has been working for you previously why change - as you say, if it ain't broke... SE would just be more of the same as last week if not stricter - sounds like your leader is focusing on one week rather than things as a whole, and if you feel deprived plus aren't losing then doing the same again sounds like a recipe for disaster. Some leaders come out with the most ridiculous things just to have an answer and avoid saying 'I don't know why this has happened' but you know yourself best so I would carry on as you were and ignore her :rotfl:
[QUOTE=Mediterranean Mum
Couldn't agree more MI - if it ain't broke why fix it - were you not losing before? If you were and just following the consultant's suggestion then I would just go back to what you were doing because it's obviously been working [/QUOTE]
I'm just going to follow EE to the letter. Tbh I don't snack on anything else except SF food or one Mullerlight per day so I don't see how SE could help me more except put me off veg even more (was fine with it until this 7 SF and SS challenge, then I got sick of it!).
It does bug me a bit because, as great a leader as she is, she made SUCH a big deal out of the fact I'd gained 0.5 lb then blamed it on one meal out (which was within syns AND the day after last WI). Lots of people were boasting about the booze they had drunk, the BBQ's they had, the fact they had a "chocolate week", lots of gains and maintains but I was the one made an example of! She even congratulated a woman on gaining 0.5lb.
This is the kind of thing that made me leave WW - trying to find anyway to blame me for a gain/maintain instead of admitting there are weeks you can follow the plan and not lose weight. Leader followed her 7 challenge this week and gained too and admitted she felt under too much pressure but instead of saying don't do the challenge to me, she said I needed a "really hard week" and I should do SE. After I said the challenge made me feel deprived and in a foul mood! If I feel like I'm "on a diet", I end up quitting. SW has felt like a healthy eating plan and thats why it works for me - get too strict and I'll end up bingeing and quit.
Apart from one week where I maintained, I've lost every week. Last week was easy, I enjoyed it and I lost 2lb! This week I was miserable and gained. Doesn't take a genuis to figure out what I will be doing.
On a happier note, I've just tried the Linda McCartney Italian Sausages for dinner, with Swede and Potato Mash, Carrots, Cauliflower and Broccoli. The Sausages are GORGEOUS and only 0.5 a syn each!
ETA: Also, the last couple of weeks, I've started to get nice comments about my weight loss (most people don't know I'm on SW). After my sh*tty WI, it was great to meet up with some friends I haven't seen since starting and they were shocked to see that I'd lost - one's jaw just dropped and she went, "Oh My God! You look AMAZING! It's changed the way you look completely! I feel like I'm looking at a 16 year old!"
Seriously, nothing tastes as good as that feels! I was so unconfident all last year, I hated my body, I felt like a frumpy lump of poo. I'm starting to walk a little taller now and I'm making more of an effort with my appearance. No more baggy jumpers!0 -
Have come to talk to you as I just ate two Werthers Originals. They were chewy ones. I haven't tried them before and I couldn't resist. First one went in and then mmm it was yummy so a second one followed. Am hoping to distract myself from eating any more.
It's my second WI tonight and I have literally just discovered that I have come on my * week. Do you think that this will affect what the scales say tonight?
Once I maintained, the other twice I lost so its all individual. I tend to be ok at TOTM but get slightly bloated when I ovulate?!0 -
Sadly gained 1 lb this week.:(0

Ok so kids are off school and keeping me very busy, so I am struggling to keep up with everyone. Nice to see some good losses, those that have not got the result you wanted, remember it's not about the weekly result - but the overall one.
** Thank you all for the well dones.**
RDF I see-sawed - do sw don't sw for weeks. Sadly it came down to a "Who are you kidding, Swiper" convo with myself. I still wobble some days, I get right back on the minute I fall off. Thats all. So what if I gain one week.. I've lost overall.
I can't stop as I have stuff to do, that I am not getting done because of underfoot children ( I love them to bits - honest) I have SW syn free rice pud bubbling away in the microwave to kill off the snack-attackies. Might even sprinkle a little bit of milkyway stars on.. You know live a little..and all that.0 -
hi all,
not been on for a week or so as I am SO disappointed with my situation.
I have religiously stuck to plan, done an hours work out on the wii every day and found out that I have GAINED 6lbs!!!! What the heck is going on?
I feel absolutely gutted and so did not go to class last night cos I felt shamed to death.
How could anyone actually believe that I had stuck to plan?
I felt as though I would be judged to be a liar so I couldnt face it.
Needless to say I have tonight made a doctors appointment for tomorrow afternoon to hopefully discuss my situation and see if he can throw any light on it.
Anyone else got any ideas as to what has gone wrong for me?
Well done to all the losers and hugs to the strugglers, (like me ).

Hi all, please can I join you? I've done SW on & off for the last 11 years (old skool!) but I need to go back since having my daughter I've hit my highest ever weight & need to lose 6 stone
Can anyone tell me how much classes are these days? It'll be a struggle as I'm not earning at the moment, but I need the discipline of the class & weigh in.
I really want to do JUST the green plan but as I'm not veggie will they let me? I've never got my head around EE & there's only so much salad I can stomachI have lost 3.5stone in 5 months on green before so I know it can work on it's own.
Thanks, C xx0 -
