I've used syns that I've saved up during the week for drinks at the weekend since I've started at slimming world. I've only had a gain one week out of 8 now and in total have 1 stone 7 .5 lbs off in 8 weeks so it certainley works for me. I was a big wine drinker before sw and have not swtiched to gin - although if you are only having a couple of glasses of wine its not so bad.
I would certainley use your syns like this and see if it works for you. I was really worried about this as well and was worried that I couldn't enjoy my weekends anymore - but I do I just don't stuff myself the whole weekend like I used too. I'll have a treat on saturday night normally and a few drinks and be on track the rest of the weekend - good luck
thanks for this Lantanna. Good to hear that others do this as well, and makes me feel a little more comfortable about having a glass of wine or 2 on Saturday night.

Yes- a couple of tbsp thai curry paste then stirred in the yogurt. It makes it a bit sweet but is nice. Tbh I now use Quark as makes it a bit thicker and because of the flavours in the curry paste I don't tend to notice the lack of coconut flavour; saying that, I am going to try the coconut essence tonight
Well done on staying on track btw!
Thanks Blodwen
Are there any syns attached to the curry paste? Thinking i will go for the thai curry after all

Me too honey - but I have this thing that I won't eat stuff like this in front of others cos I know they'll watch me and think "no wonder she's so bloody fat..." It's the best diet ever - be constantly in the presence of others!!!!Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -

Takeways that are already operating can carry on as normal. This to me is a stupid way to go..what difference (in reality) is this going to make? I personally think not a lot.
Absolutely true - it would be lovely to see it across the board but I guess they'd never be able to do that.
I also think that if kids have money to buy takeaways then it's the parents that need to be educated - not the kids - so it actually will make very little difference.Mediterranean Mum

Well another 2lb loss for me today at my virtual weigh in
.
Am hoping to get into it properly next week as baby is sleeping slightly better (well almost 3 hour stretches at night!), so we do have some difference between night and day and I am not up (and eating....) 24 hours a day
Just got my SW magazine in the post too, so am hoping when baby has a nap, I can convince the other 2 smallest ones to watch a DVD and I may get to read it
Well done to everyone again! And to the Cookies in work !! I would want another if I had one, and another, and another....
I am another that keeps some syns for the weekend - always did when I followed SW before. Me and OH never get chance to get out, well not without the 4 kids, so we don't eat out much or really ever treat ourselves. So Saturday night is takeaway night in our house and I will not forfeit that for anyone :rotfl:

Blodwen, thanks for you reply.
Macpep, where did you buy the garden chips and how much for a tonne?0 -
WI for me this morning and lost 1.5lb. That's really good for me - I've been gaining and losing the same lb for months now! Hopefully my body will continue downwards until I go on holiday. Can't guarantee it won't go up then!

I read all the posts and replies, but can you tell me how to quote posts in my post so its easy to respond?
I am concerned that the Hex do not provide enough calcium for my age group , 1300g a day. skim milk has 420g. 30g cheese 225g. so..I choose one , say milk , that gives me 420g a day, add 2 bread prob about 60g cal, fruit and veg- not very much arround 100- 200g, as i hate youghurt, i dont get any from that, cottage chees will add 80g small tub.
I see me struggling to attain 1300g a day!
I trusted that SW had all this worked out..i quote p25 in the book===
Maintaining a high intake of calcium when slimming is important for good health, which gives the impression that the choices listed contain enough, per se!0 -
Have come to talk to you as I just ate two Werthers Originals. They were chewy ones. I haven't tried them before and I couldn't resist. First one went in and then mmm it was yummy so a second one followed. Am hoping to distract myself from eating any more.
It's my second WI tonight and I have literally just discovered that I have come on my * week. Do you think that this will affect what the scales say tonight?
Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x
EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!0 -

On that week I am always bloated lol. Have only had one weigh in on it so far and that was my only gain of 2lbs - the following week I'd 6.5 lbs off:eek:
I wont know until Monday if its going to affect me this week.0
