Morning all
I am on day 3. I would like to say so far so good but its not. I am struggling a bit and still in 2 mindsets "do sw, dont do sw, do sw, dont do sw".
I dont know whats wrong with me - maybe because its still the first week and i am re-adjusting? maybe also hormones as my b00bs are tender , and my back is hurting meaning * time is coming pretty soon. I say HURRY UP so i can feel normal again. Plus i am really tired at the moment (also hormones i think)..
I had a good 8 hours last night but yet i wanted to carry on sleeping when my alarm went off this morning. Im sure there will be someone who is thinking "just go on the pill" to avoid all this but it does really disagree with me.:(
anyway my trousers split this morning ( thunder thighs) at the seam. I could have cried. Thought about calling in sick but instead changed my trousers. I would like to say the trouser splitting put a stick of rocket up my backside to carry on with SW but NO it didnt. I started thinking of thorntons and toffifee (current faves) . *Sighs*
BUT the silver lining is that i have brought my SW lunch to work, and cut up some extra strawberries for me to graze on during the day. I just cant give in - especially since my trousers split. I mean seriously?
so after all the above (sorry its gloomy) i am doing EE today -
B - SW Quiche (full of veggies) and side of mushrooms (frylighted)
L - Coconut curry chicken rice (taken off slimming eats blog) - 1 syn
D - Fresh fillet of salmon with roast veggies (parsnips, carrots & new spuds) cooked with herbs & frylighted
Snacks - WW dessert recipe yoghurt (0.5), strawberries, and raspberries , hi fi bar (hex b), skimmed milk (hex a) , Kit Kat chunky (13):eek:

having doubts about the kitkat chunky now . Will it open a door that i need to stay closed (and all self control will go out of the window??) :undecided:huh:

Well most of the stuff was for both, the salad, potatoes, meat, eggs etc. so we only had different lasagne and dessert. There were a few reasons for it: 1) Previously my SIL has complained about the Quark topping on a SW lasagne (cheeky I know ) and her family are really fussy eaters so if they knew it wasn't 'normal' they wouldn't have eaten it, 2) We had to make 2 anyway as had to feed at least 12 people, and 3) even though the normal one used lean steak mince, the ingredients for the SW one (extra lean mince, quark, half fat cheese) are more expensive so the huge one was cheaper normal stuff and ours was a little one. In terms of dessert, we had to do separate stuff as it was my niece's birthday so we had to do a cake for her and my mum had already made a trifle, but then the guests brought a huge chocolate cake and cheesecake too. Other people could have had blancmange but as I say, fussy eaters so doubt they would have touched it! I see what you're saying and tbh I would happily inflict my dietary restrictions on others (I do it to OH every day
) but it turned out that there were other reasons so I was happy to go along with it. Actually I was pleased, as I can't always control what other people eat and therefore what food I am faced with, so was good practice at resisting!
Absolutely hear you Blodwen and I wasn't judging - honestly. I once had someone come for dinner and they chose to tell me about an hour before they were due to arrive that they were vegetarian and everything I'd made had meat in it!!! I've now learnt to make a huge variety of dishes in the hope that there will be something for everyone but most of what I cook now is SW-friendly.rainbowfairydust wrote: »Morning all

RFD I so understand you. I desperately want to get back into this and for whatever reason I just can't do it properly. I'm better than I was yesterday and yesterday was better than the day before so maybe it just takes a few days to get back in focus. One thing I have done this week is exercise (didn't do any last week) and I've been making a conscious effort to drink more water. It's hard to get the mojo back but keep with it - you'll get there.
Oh and don't even think about the trousers - chuck them.Mediterranean Mum

Spent a few hours in the kitchen last night and made tea for last night and tonight as well as a couple of portions of stir fry to freeze. Also made some soup but had just started making it when I realised I didn't have any carrots, or much of any veg really. Ended up throwing in a bag of frozen carrots, cauli and broc and a bit of frozen asparagus, along with onion, lentils and ham. Looks like pond water but tastes ok! :rotfl:
Have a good day all
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I made some soup on Monday. I'd used up all I had in the freezer but the weather's been so rubbish I needed something hot and easy for lunches.
Sorry for your loss macpep. Good to see you posting so you're still hanging on in there. Why not use the enforced time at home to do some menu planning?
:Tswiper Good result!!
I'm another who 'enforces' SW on friends and family. Obviously I take account of any special requirements although fussy eaters really annoy me! The way I look at it is as I'm serving them wholesome, healthy, home-cooked food they're the lucky ones!!:D
Hope mojo is discovered very soon for strugglers. Since I joined this thread I've come to realise how emotional/emotive a subject eating and weightloss can be. It's really not as simple as being a greedy pig!
Home alone today. I've had egg on toast for breakfast. I've got some cold chicken I must eat up at lunchtime so I'll have a tomato or something with that and a bit of fruit. SW Bolognese tonight but although it's packed with veg I think maybe a bowl of berries or some melon to graze on will help the SFs. Syns so far a small juice and a squirt of HP. Not planning any more.0 -

No offence taken at all MM, and if I had a party at mine I'd probably make it all SW as it's better for everyone whether they're on a diet or not! The 'normal' menu was much more SW friendly than it would have been previously as we wanted there to be as much as possible that we could have as well. Some things that could have been seriously tempting, like garlic bread, were omitted, although it was never mentioned so don't know if that was deliberate on my mum's part! I agree Maman, they should be grateful for home cooked food, especially as it takes so much more effort than shoving some frozen party food in the oven!rainbowfairydust wrote: »Morning all

Sorry to hear you're struggling RFD, you're doing well by taking a SW lunch though and planning all your food. I *so* know what you mean about not being able to stick to it even though you're desperate to lose weight but each day that you manage to stay on track makes it that little bit easier to carry on. Re kitkat - my strategy is to have my choccy treat later in the evening when I go upstairs to watch tv - I suppose it is almost a ritual and it kind of signals to me that that's the last thing I am eating that day, and once it's gone I won't go downstairs again for anything else even if I want to. Doesn't always work but 9 times out of 10 it does. Either that or have a normal 2 finger kitkat as you can always have a second within syns (as long as that doesn't open the door even wider). If you just think you're hungry can you distract yourself until it subsides? A bit of online window shopping, play a game? Drinking some of the water will help too!2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Thanks MM. Pleased you are feeling a bit better today. It takes a while after i have had a cold before i can start operating properly. keep at it with the exercising. It does definitely make you feel better. I plan on joining the gym again when i get paid (friday) and will try to incorporate a couple of classes a week into my routine.

thanks to you as well Blodwen. Good idea about eating the kitkat last thing before i go to bed. Once i have finished it i will brush my teeth right away which will help stop me from munching more. The teeth brushing strategy should work as i dont like anything to pass my lips once my teeth are brushed (even a bit weird about water too)
