    Hi all

I have been MIA, day of communion on the way home ds got the chickenpox so we didn't get to the party, being at home with ds all week was good but now i realise how Medmum feels working from home, i nibbled and nibbled, ate too much and drank too much the last few weeks and am disgusted! as it was like I was on my holidays :( found out my nana passed away Saturday morning, we used to be close , I am the oldest grandchild and the sun shone out her bahookie, but as we get older we all change and she favoured the (what I can only describe as baddies) in the family, our family was torn apart because of 2, but 1 person in particular , I have a heavy heart but no guilt as we never argued or anything, last time I saw her at my sisters wedding, I gave her my number, told her to call or pop in for a cuppa anytime......that day never happened and now it's too late. Sorry for venting, I hope to properly be back on the wagon soon xx

((hugs)) I know how you feel about the 'working from home' - it's too easy to snack.
When hubby was working, I was to busy chasing after the kids. Now were trying to build a business. All I do is snack, drink and snack more :(
I'm glad you don't have regrets about nana. Funny how such things can rip a family apart. Similiar situation here a few years back. Sadly I now have a very small family. Christmas isn't the same. :(

Well, if I can get through the night on HEA and HEB snacks I will have got through the day syn free  - balancing yesterdays 'OMG! How many syns' slip up. WI first thing tomorrow. So we shall see. Trying to remain free of the groups - success as in a loss from this time last week means delaying using the Bella voucher. I have until the 10th of June to put it to use so you watch me loose the mag now. :D;)
  • In today's episode of my life, which we shall title 'shouldn't you be on meds?':
After a nice lay in & actually having that thing called breakfast, I decide to do some Wii.
I did my routine (it chooses half hour of joy for me). It tells me if I do another 33cals I've earned a packet of crisps.
So I do a bit extra. I've earned my crisps but now I notice if I do a bit more I will have done an hour.
So I do a bit more ... & notice if I do a bit more I will have burned 500 cals.
    So I do I bit more .... I ended up doing just over 2hours & burned 852cals.
I did briefly wonder what it would take to do 1000cals. Then I got over this thought! Not least because I dropped my hoops on the last exercise I did .... Yup it decided to REWARD me for doing so well by unlocking superduper hula hoops, so I can now do 10mins of it at a time, should I be so mad.

But alas I never did get the urge to just do that little bit extra to get to 1kcal today - I decided to make some earrings instead lol

    Anyway menus:

    Mon:
    b - apple
l- salmon, quark & spinach spaghetti, mixed salad. Melon & yog
t - as above (I was on a long day at work)
    s - hotchoc (4) apple, 2 x aplen light (HEB) yog
    *about 90mins walking*

    Tues aka Today:
B - weetabix x 2 (HEB), yog, banana, peach, plum
    apple
    L - beef salad
t- pasta n sauce (bachalors thing). yog
s - hot choc (4), apple, hoops & Xs crisps (am guessing 6?)
    *2 hours of wii*
when life gives you lemons, stick them in your top & pretend you have pointy boobs.
When life gives you melons, stick them in your top & say you've had a boob job :)

    0.5 per 100g pot :)

ETA: All are 0.5 except red fruits and peach which are free

oh !!!!!!, I thought all ww yogs EXCEPT the fruit puree ones were free .... better change me shopping list as I eat a lot of them. Then again, even IF I ate 8 in one day (& I haven't,yet) that would only be 4 syns & I don't usually syn too badly. So I might be alright. Just need to remember that in future I guess. I assume the shape & irish diet yogs are the same?

oh and does anyone know how many syns them hoops & Xs crisps are?

    Ty x

Haven't been around for a few days as was at a funeral on Fri, then away for a couple of days. Was at my folks as we had loads of family round for my niece's birthday party, and me and my mum (both doing SW) prepared all the SW-unfriendly food! Thankfully my fab mum had written out a SW menu and a 'normal' menu, so even though we made sponge cakes, trifle, lasagne, sausage rolls etc. we had our own SW lasagne and lots of other bits that were for both menus, like salad, new potatoes, boiled eggs, cold meats. We also had a blancmange with sugar free jelly, fromage frais and fruit.

Well done to your mum Blodwen for making two lots of food but I have to ask (and please don't take this as a criticism as it's not) but why didn't she just make one menu that everyone could eat? I mean the food on the SW menu sounds delish and I'm sure everyone would have been happy with it. I bet if no-one had been told they would never have known that the lasagne was SW lasagne. I've done it tons of times and people really can't tell the difference.

I know there's all this stuff about not imposing our problems/issues on others but if we're doing the cooking then shouldn't it be our choice as to what gets made? I would understand if it was all salads and more salads but we can eat real food here and there are some fab recipes out there.

So sorry for your loss Macpep and sending you big {{{{hugs}}}}.

Families can be so awful to each other sometimes - it's true what they say that you can choose your friends but not your family.

Treasure the memories and the good times Macpep - it'll get easier.

  • Well I didn't really succeed in getting fully back on the wagon yesterday - got one leg up but the other refused to join it!!!!!!

I'm loaded with the cold and feeling a bit sorry for myself and ended up eating cr*p yesterday. I paid dearly for it because I couldn't sleep last night and I'm sure it's because of what I ate.

So here's to a new day...

  • Morning all. I name today offically Weigh In Wednesday. ( at least it is for me ;))

And my Weigh In Report. First of the return to the wobbly wagon. I am offically 3lb lighter than I was on Saturday.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INSPIRATION.

I didn't think it could be done, but all of you have proved me wrong.
( I also didn't realise how much it was getting me down.)

MM - climbing anything when ill isn't the best of ideas, no matter how much you want to, body says "Eat" cause it wants to stock up energy while you shiver the cals off. No one has told the little beasties inside us that medication helps. You're body is doing what it was programmed to do. Trying to stop you from starving to death. :D Most unhelpful of it.

doinkthemonkee - 2 hours on the wii... wow. I hope you enjoyed your reward. :D
I can manage about 30 doing my zumba class. Wii fit doesn't push me enough any more. Though as I haven't been on it for a few months I'd best get back into the habit. It's an excellent stress relief.

Off to update that signiture now. :rotfl:

    Morning all,

Well done Swiperno on getting back on the wagon, fab result! And well done to you too doink, you have inspired me to get back on the Wii tonight - knee is still too twingy for the shred but reckon i can manage some hula hooping! I think those crisps are 4.5.

Sorry to hear of your loss Macpep and it is sad when it is too late to change anything but you know you did what you could by extending the olive branch so you're right not to have any regrets *hugs*

Hope you feel better today MM.

Well most of the stuff was for both, the salad, potatoes, meat, eggs etc. so we only had different lasagne and dessert. There were a few reasons for it: 1) Previously my SIL has complained about the Quark topping on a SW lasagne (cheeky I know ) and her family are really fussy eaters so if they knew it wasn't 'normal' they wouldn't have eaten it, 2) We had to make 2 anyway as had to feed at least 12 people, and 3) even though the normal one used lean steak mince, the ingredients for the SW one (extra lean mince, quark, half fat cheese) are more expensive so the huge one was cheaper normal stuff and ours was a little one. In terms of dessert, we had to do separate stuff as it was my niece's birthday so we had to do a cake for her and my mum had already made a trifle, but then the guests brought a huge chocolate cake and cheesecake too. Other people could have had blancmange but as I say, fussy eaters so doubt they would have touched it! I see what you're saying and tbh I would happily inflict my dietary restrictions on others (I do it to OH every day ;) ) but it turned out that there were other reasons so I was happy to go along with it. Actually I was pleased, as I can't always control what other people eat and therefore what food I am faced with, so was good practice at resisting!

Spent a few hours in the kitchen last night and made tea for last night and tonight as well as a couple of portions of stir fry to freeze. Also made some soup but had just started making it when I realised I didn't have any carrots, or much of any veg really. Ended up throwing in a bag of frozen carrots, cauli and broc and a bit of frozen asparagus, along with onion, lentils and ham. Looks like pond water but tastes ok! :rotfl:

    EE for me today:
    B: Berries, yogurt, honey (2), 1 weetabix (1/2 B), milk (A)
    L: Veg soup, 3 crackerbreads (1/2 B), apple
T: Chicken stir fry, egg fried rice & noodles (1)
    S: Pineapple, Freddo (5)

Have a good day all :)
