WI for me tonight
Has not been a great week for me - haven't been particularly bad but didn't manage much superfree this week - as I wasn't as prepared as normal and didn't get to have lunch on Friday at all. The dreaded PMT is also well underway.
Hoping for a 1lb loss or Sts tonight if its a gain I'll cry. On a plus I'll be able to pick up the new SW Mag to hopefully motivate me0 -

The SW Website has a BBQ article on it today - which lists the syns in various types of sausage! I haven't had a sausage in 7 weeks and its about time I had one myself lol.
Its a flippin Pastie Bap from the Chippy I've been craving all week though lol
May just happen tonight after weigh in :eek:0 -
Cravings just make no sense do they? Why does our body make us want stuff!! with me all it needs is split second notion.
I made my first free jelly with fresh rasps and strawbs in it, cant wait to try it later.
Swiper, yest meals were enough to fill me up full, loved the chips dipped in the beans.
Hello new people, its my first week too.0 -
Welcome cariad. That's a good idea to have lots of interim targets, not so daunting.aggypanthus wrote: »todays food- choc tea biccie with very small cup skimmed milky coffee
fresh berries and grapes
1tsp sugar. 3 boiled sweets.
3 slices pork loin with low fat cottage cheese.
dinner tonight- SW chips, half tin beans, 1 fried eggs.
diet drinks.
I know its not all my allowances but i dont feel I need to eat any more!
aggie, I'm confused which plan you're following. I think you're OK with the syns for the day: sugar, sweets and a biscuit should be within the allowance. It won't do you any harm missing out on some HEXs for just a day but they're there for health (calcium, fibre etc.) so do try to plan them in. The berries and grapes are your only SFs for the day and they're probably the most important part of the SW programme. It could have been a Green day if you hadn't had the pork (you could syn that) but even on Green, while SFs aren't compulsory they're still a good idea.
I've had beans on toast so far and if I'm hungry I've got a bowl of berries defrosting and some cold roast chicken to pick on. I seem to have got out of the habit of having lunch last week when it was a huge cooked breakfast in hotels. Today I'm doing a piece of gammon in the SC to have with Jersey Royals and cauli/broccoli/tomato cheese tonight. I'm planning to make a load of lentil soup with the stock which I can have for lunch when I'm feeling CBA.0 -
Hi all *slopes back in*
Hope you dont mind me re-joining the thread:o. After several failed attempts at SW i am trying yet again.
I have been kind of wanting to restart for some time now, but just havent - some excuses i have to offer:-
1 - Weather has been lousy.
2 - Stress (money, essays for uni, exams, worrying about parents)
3 - Hormones/low mood - the 2 combined do not make life easy.
I could churn more out but i think you get the general drift. I suppose the truth is i just wanted to eat junk food & bagels & cookies:o:o
So last week i took the plunge and weighed myself. I got the shock of my life. I am officially the heaviest i have EVER been by a country mile.. I think i went into shock for 48 hours and instead of pulling my finger out of my backside and sorting myself out ..what did i do? Yep you guessed it. Continued to gorge myself:(
Anyway Saturday arrived, the sun was out and for the first time in months i felt motivated and KNEW i needed to do SOMETHING because i am very unhappy with how i am looking. I toyed with calorie counting, WW, SW - you name it i thought about it. I wrote down all the pros & cons and came to the conclusion that i got the best results from SW, and the truth is i dont want to count calories . I want proper meals. Its annoying when i feel like having an omelette (88 cals per egg peeps ) or pasta or rice i dont eat it because i end up reluctant to eat any of those foods due to cals.
With regards to me - I am lethargic, spotty (my skin is horrendous ) ,my clothes dont fit me any more. I resemble jabba the hut. Its embarrassing, and to add insult my kidneys are hurting ( i suspect from the amount of pop i have been getting through)
anyway back to saturday ..i spent the morning looking through recipes on slimming eats, and through my file that i has recipes from SW mags. Wrote myself 7 days worth of meals.Stuck them on the cupboard door and then spent remainder of my wages on SW friendly food - my flat is full of vegetables, and fruit and meat. I then spent the majority of the latter stages of sat pm cooking & freezing my meals for the week. (made 6 meals in total - 3 pasta dishes, curry coconut rice with chicken, a SW quiche full of veggies & slow cooked whole chicken cooked in stock).
I did plan to re-join SW again this morning but i spent all my money on the food shop so it will have to wait til next week. I have started today anyway and had a green day. So far so good..I am determined to stick to it this time. No excuses. The silver lining is that i recently started St Johns Wort tablets and i think they have worked a treat. I have found that i am much more "on a level" than up, down, up, down.
So after all that (sorry it was rather long) my Green menu has been:-
brunch - spag hoops on toast (hex b)
mid pm snack - new spuds (boiled), with 1/2 hex a low fat cheese spread & 3 slices of bernard matthews chicken ( 3 syns)
Dinner - Pasta with quorn chicken peices. Peppers, mushrooms, Half an onion, peas, sweetcorn. Sauce was made using half a tub of quark ( lake district variety is nicest i have tastes - from morrissons), half a tub of FF fromage frais, and 2nd 1/2 of hex a low fat cheese spread. Used mixed herbs in the sauce (as not a fan of quark really). Very tasty (and filling) indeed.
Had a hex b hi fi bar , and will be having an apple, strawberries and raspberries soon. Options hot choc (2 syns)
Plan on doing a red day tomorrow

I think I am on the food optimising one,:) I have been making mistakes as it take a few days at least to get the hang of it, I re read the books today,a nd saw that I mixed up milk and cheese and bread!
I love fruit and veg so will add more to my meals. your input is very helpful, thanks.0 -
