Don't use as much of it - thats why you can taste it. I hate sweetners, the only one I can put up with is Splenda and I always use at least half the recommended amount when baking/adding.
OOPS I meant I tried splenda not candarel, i will use less and see itf thats better.

Well done on a great loss so far. :T

I feel negative about a good loss nxt week, am not very active, and it always takes me ages to lose even half stone!! Prev by cutting down on my own .

aw thank you :) in total I want to lose 2 stone, the 2 stone iv put on since I moved in with my boyfriend, haha.

does anybody know what the low syn sausages are? I thought I read somewhere that tesco light choices pork sausages were 1 syn each but when I searched it on the app they come up as 4 syns :-/
  • ok help & advice needed. how can I put this? oh yes, hubby says I am unnaturally stenchy (farts) .... Any suggestions?
I DO have IBS so that is probably a factor, but def seems worse recently lol

It could be that it's just a change in your eating habits, particularly if you're having lots of beans.

These are half a syn each in Sainsbury's:

Be Good to Yourself Extra Lean Pork Cumberland Sausages, 8 pack, chilled, 57g each

On the sweetener question: I use Candarel but like monkee I went for a tub of what was on offer. I've never baked with it. I've had the same £1 tub for months and months and just use it for putting on red fruits and the odd tsp added to recipes that say sugar.
  • Thanks Beanie, Aggy

Skinny Lizzy Sausages at 1/2 a syn each, probably the most "sausage" like if you don't like the spices. I can only ever find them at Morrisons.

Right. Time to turn this cart around.:T I have you lot to thank for the sudden clarity. :iloveyou:

Yesterday was the first day in about 4 months I got through without over synning. :D

I want to lose a stone before the kids go back in September, half of that is gained over target, the rest will get me to where I wanted to be before I was told to stop by the doctor. It makes me so jealous that some people are just designed to be stick thin, but taking into account that some people's bodies aren't designed to work that way, I'll just have to deal with it. I don't want to go below the size 14 I felt glam at!
    So you know the plan.
What will get in my way? Writing, after seeing my first work published I'm really focused on that too. I want to have the book I am working on ready to send out by September. I know that my focus will slip more the minute I return to university so if I can get the routine sorted I should be ok.

Picked up the scan-bran from Holland and Barratt yesterday, so today is cooking day. Carrot Cake, Quiche, Chicken and something tasty for dinner tonight. Breakfast muffins too I think.
Weather is glorious outside so we're planning a forest treasure hunt & picnic with the kids later.

Welcome all the newbies, being a veggie I go for the Quorn sausages or the Linda McCartney ones but have been online today and these look the lowest at half a syn each:-
Be Good to Yourself Extra Lean Pork Cumberland Sausages, 8 pack, chilled, 57g each. If you have tomatoes and mushrooms with it as well it makes a good sucess express meal, oh and an egg (poached of course)

For those times when you want to super-boost the results on the scales – following a holiday, after a flexible Syns day, to get back on track or even to wave goodbye to the last few lbs to reach your target – Success Express is the way to go!
Success Express celebrates the power of Free Foods even further – by encouraging you to base your meals on Superfree Foods that are super-satisfying for your appetite and very, very low in calories. By filling two thirds of your plate with these fab Superfree Foods, you’re automatically limiting your calorie intake more than you might with an Extra Easy, Green or Original meal, and still without counting calories or feeling hungry or deprived!
The steps to Success Express success!

Success Express uses the same three steps to success: Free Foods, Healthy Extras and Syns, with a focus on Superfree Foods that will boost your weight loss beautifully. Whether you follow Success Express every once in a while, every day or something in between, you’ll enjoy loads of filling, satisfying food with a touch more control.
    Focus on Free Food power!

Every day enjoy three Success Express meals. Each mealtime, follow the 2-to-1 plate principle: fill one third of your plate with Free Food and two thirds of your plate with super-healthy, super-satisfying Superfree Foods – giving a touch more control to help boost your weight loss. For example, have a third of a plate of jacket potato with baked beans and cottage cheese (all Free Foods) with a huge salad bursting with Superfree veggies that fills the remaining two thirds – without weighing or counting.
    Choose your Healthy Extras

Every day choose once or twice from the Healthy Extra ‘a’ list and twice from any Healthy Extra ‘b’ list, weighing and measuring when needed.
You can add your Healthy Extra to meals, for example by having a sandwich made with a third of a plateful of chicken, two thirds of a plate full of salad and two slices of wholemeal bread from a small 400g loaf. Or you can enjoy your Healthy Extras between meals.
    Snack on Superfree Foods

Between meals, for starters and desserts, enjoy Superfree Foods – fresh or frozen fruit and vegetables. You can also enjoy Free Foods such as eggs, fat free dairy products eg Mullerlight yogurts and vegetable proteins such as Quorn and tofu.
    Enjoy 5-15 Syns

To add a touch of additional structure and help you achieve that great weight loss, with Success Express we ask you to count the higher Syn value wherever they differ. For example, a thick pork sausage has 4½ Syns on Extra Easy or Original and 7 Syns on Green. On a Success Express day, count the higher (Green) Syn value.
