Congratulations nessie!!! How exciting!!
2.5lbs off last night, was very pleased with that considering my seaside naughtiness at the weekend!!
Weirdly it seems with me the stricter I am with myself the less I lose, whereas if I let go a little bit it seems to fall off....where is the sense in that?! Not that I'm complaining of course!!
We've been set a challenge to try a new recipe every day for a week, quite looking forward to it. Has thrown up the question...has anyone used splenda (or eqvuivalent) in baking? My OH wants me to bake a carrot cake at the weekend, but I dont yet have a recipe, wondering if I could used sweetner instead of sugar to cut down on syns??0 -

The SW website has a recipe for a scan bran carrot cake - i've tried it before & was lush
But baking with Splenda (or equivaleny) doesn't really work, a mixture of half sugar & half sweetener would work better
Try googling slimming world carrot cake - sure there will be one out there - just check the syns yourself rather than assume they are correct!0 -
You'll need to syn some oil for cooking the sea bass but the fish itself will be free. The sauce at 40 cals will be 2 syns so not too bad for a meal out.
Ignore the Boots scales - they'll be different from the scales you normally use. Mid-week weighing isn't a good idea either as your weight goes up and down throughout the day, never mind throughout the week. The only weigh in which matters is your REGULAR weekly SW weigh in.

I don't attend meetings so I don't have an official WI as such. Normally I stay the hell away from scales beacuse of the random variations.
Used Wii fit today (1hr) & that damn thing weighs you each time. Apparently today I am 19st 9lbs ... so 4lbs less than yesterday & 2lbs more than monday! :rotfl:
Will stick to using the Wii WI tho because at least it is same scale on same floor etc. But I will just try to pick a day to have as official WI e.g. Tues, Fri, whatever & try to ignore all the other timeswhen life gives you lemons, stick them in your top & pretend you have pointy boobs.
When life gives you melons, stick them in your top & say you've had a boob job0 -
stupid question I know but how do you work out syns for things?when life gives you lemons, stick them in your top & pretend you have pointy boobs.

If you log into the members online page and go on 'weight loss tools' there is a huge database of foods you can search for to find out the syns, there's also an online calculator where you enter the nutritional value and work it out that way.
First weigh in tonight, I'm nervous! iv been really good and stuck to it all week so if iv not lost anything I'll be upset I think.0 -
